I took a couple cracks at it, but I'm not sure I ever figured out how to actually map the lights onto the levers. Was I misreading the manual, or is it possible to get 3 different letters? Is there a specific order you're supposed to pull the levers in?

hi @mathemagician, sorry to hear :(

you should

1. check the colors & statuses of the lights (red, off; blue, off; green, blinking; for example) 2. find the character corresponding to that color & status for each color from top to bottom (a, b, x; for example) 3. pull the correct levers in that sequence

good luck!

Interesting concept. Took me a bit to figure out how exactly to play, is the filled circle in the manual, on/off, how do I pull the right letter, etc. Also in the intro area the sequence image is covering some of the text in the layout. Nice graphics and sound wasn't over the top. Great entry!

@doug-graham hi doug, thanks for the feedback!

We had a remarkably similar idea about manipulating machinery and reacting to lights after memorizing instructions from a manual :D Great job on this entry! I gotta admit, I wasn't able to win so far, but I'll come back and keep trying, I won't let this defeat me!

I love puzzle games, but... :( I'm not sure if I'm just really dumb or missed something, but I couldn't figure out how to interact with anything in the game other than walking around. I clicked every key on my keyboard and tried my mouse too and they all failed to work :( I started over to re-read the manual but didn't see anything (I could be blind) and didn't see anything elsewhere either...

I do like the look of the poor intern, though, although he kinda looks too old to be interning. Poor man.

@julia-zhu the interaction key is F - I just found it (had the same problem as you..!) good luck :)

Overall, I love the game. It's simple, it's done very well and it's very crisp overall. My main complaint is that the levers don't reset on a new sequence! That makes it much harder :P I find it really hard though... I still didn't win haha. Nice submission, keep it up =)

Can't give a rating because I didn't understand the game. I pull levers and a meltdown happens. I even screenshotted the tutorial texts and put them on the second monitor. If you make a system like this, provide ingame tutorials, write it inside the game, let the player experiment without errors leading to immediate death. This needs a way better tutorial.

I like the graphics, but u definetly should have use point filter on the ground tiles

timo-strating 2021-10-06 20:44

nice game. I only really missed a big explosion when you failed haha

Pretty good concept. It was a bit hard to figure out how i should manage levers. And I disliked blurry items on the floor, it looks strange.

The game definitely had charm and jokes. I liked the manual concept. The fact that the tutorial was more than a wall of text but fit inside your theme made it enjoyable.

Beyond that, I'm sorry but I really couldn't figure it out. For example, I had the pattern red (blink), green (blink), and blue (off). According to the manual, that should have been a, a, d - right? But when I set the lever to a, the set it to neutral, and then to a again ... I lost :(

I really wanted to play this more because it looked really fun, but I couldn't figure it out from the instructions.

Update: I read your new instructions to follow the order of the lights in the manual (shouldn't be different than the game imo), but even then it would seem to reset the pattern after the first lever, and I wasn't sure whether I had to continue or start over. I'm really sorry I couldn't figure it out :(

This is a really cool concept! It was a bit hard to understand the instructions at first, but I eventually figured it out. I really like the clean graphics of the game, and it felt really polished. Good job!
