Your game looks so cool, atleast the art really made me want to play, but the screen stays black for me. I see the choose your action menu, where I can pick arrows to move and can hear the audio fine, but I don't actually see the game happening. Tested out in browser on firefox. Will try it out on another device when I have the chance.

Nice game, the movements are a bit too slow so there's a lot of waiting, but I enjoyed playing it c:

@sukkoyf You need to select at least 4 actions to start a round, click on your moves and press the Accept button (green checkmark).

A very good concept. The mechanics of the game are quite interesting. Good job

Good call making the action queue 4 actions long rather than 5.

Really nice game! The interface is hard to read and on my end it was a bit laggy, but I did have a lot of fun. Although this is pretty rare in the context of video games, it's a pretty classic boardgame mechanic. No matter, I still enjoyed it a bunch despite the clunkiness, lag, and readability issues. The scrolling background especially made the action hard to follow, although it did make it much more dynamic, and adjacent horses sometimes hid their action queues. The UI was rather clunky overall and it would have benefitted from some UI/UX work. But nice level design, it was really fun navigating the decision space!

The use of the theme is *extremely* cheeky, but still, good one.

Great work, thank you for your contribution!

@fae-pdf Thank you Fae for the feedback, I updated some of the UI to be a bit easier to read, also removed some overly cluttery UI, should increase the play experience. The original idea was to add a lot more complexity and abilities, but I felt the elegancy of a simple design sometimes is just good enough in itself.

Interesting take. I like the mechanics and the horse graphics (especially the player character). UI was a bit hard to read. Good entry, I liked it.

The art is really nice and smooth, and the aesthetic style of the game is pleasingly uniform. The moving background adds a fantastic feeling of motion while the action is happening despite the game being a slower strategy-type. Same goes for the sound of horses running -- makes the game feel much more active. And then same again for the percussion in the music. A longer music loop and a greater variety of instruments in the music would round off the game very nicely. You could literally repeat the same melody but with a different sound -- a guitar or flute or synth or whatever -- and that would go miles. Well done!

Good job. Has a nice presentation and flow, but it does feel a bit random and luck based. Music can be abrasive sometimes, but overall I had a good time playing this.

dikkop 2021-10-10 22:52

@gno-evenimente Thanks for your feedback, I realise that it is a bit unclear but the game is entirely not luck-based. At the beginning of each round, the enemy horses pick their moves for the coming round so you can plan around that, it is completely deterministic (the order of each horse is denoted with a number in front of the horse, the player always goes first).

Nice game! The turn-based movement mechanics was very interesting, reminds me of the old "Heroes Of Might and Magic" games, good job!

The html5 page doesn't load for me, is it down?

I really-really like this one!

I think controlling it with keyboard could be much more convenient and more fun, just tap arrow keys to overwrite your moves in a loop and then press space to confirm.

Maybe more variety in what's happening on the playing field: power-ups, special abilities like double moves or attacks in different patterns, etc. — this game has a lot of potential for expanding.

Perhaps there could be an enemy who sometimes makes unpredictable movements to make the game even more unstable? This should be compensated with more hit points or a way to heal, perhaps.

Great entry, great idea, great cinematic feel, and is that procedural noise-based ground? Awesome!

Fun game! I thought the machanic was really clever and has a lot of potential. Great job! :)

Do I correctly hear Bosca Ceoil music? :) I really like the game mechanic. I can feel there is a lot of potential it this idea. The pixel art looks nice too. Good job with this unique game!
