The game has a really cool idea. good job!)

excy 2021-04-27 22:05

Awesome, need some checkpoints.

malfeasance 2021-04-27 22:12

It has a cool mechanic but my main issue is that the platforms dont take me with them and I have to manually move LIKE A CASUAL

dante2001 2021-04-27 22:13

Its fun, liked the story and power. Needs some way to zoom out to have a better perspective. Maybe be able to "preview" what's on the other world. Has a lot of potential!

peculiarcarrot 2021-04-27 22:15

This is a very cool game! It is super, super impressive that this is your first game, and completed in only 48 hours! I really love the switching mechanic and how you really used it to its potential in the level design. I would have LOVED to see this with some polish (and a quicker switch between worlds- a cool flashing effect would really sell it!), but seeing as how much work you clearly already put in, that might be asking a little much ;) Awesome stuff, you definitely have some natural talent here. Can't wait to see what you make next!

Nice Game!

evil-villain-games 2021-04-27 22:17

Great game play. I love the main character design too! The section with the moving platforms where you needed to switch very quickly to jump through holes was amazing. It really made me sweat and I liked that.

Incredible work for a first game or even if it wasn't your first game and for a game jam no less! Well done pat yourself on the back!

gabriel-pittol 2021-04-27 22:18

Pretty cool ,loved the idea of switching between two scenes to avoid obstacles. I just wasn't fond of my mouse disappearing after clicking on the game though lol, but that has nothing to do with the game anwyays. Good job!

landosystems 2021-04-27 22:18

I was so confused at first because it seemed like there wasn't enough room to get past the first pair of spikes during the transition... then I realized that I could jump :face_palm:

Agree with some other comments about checkpoints, it's frustrating to start all the way back at the beginning when I fumble a jump, but execution was decent otherwise, good concept, fit the theme, relaxing but spooky music. Good work overall!

ss9 2021-04-27 22:20

This is really cool! I love the concept!

alexandre-pedroza 2021-04-27 22:22

Dude, I love the concept, for real! And I can't effin' believe you completed this in 48 hours on your first time, you're a beast man. About the game itself: as I said, the idea is good, could use some polish on the switch mechanic, definitely needs to be faster; the levels are kinda too hard too fast, the seconds spikes ever are kinda hard to pass since you can't really see where are the spikes on "the other side" since you just switch and die until you figure you need to jump and then switch mid air. All the puzzles kinda need this kind of "level design" treatment, but I super understand how hard these things are. I personally recommend listening to podcasts about game design if you're interested, there are some super good insights to have when using these. In any case, congrats are in order, you absolutely hit it out the f'n park with this one, for being your first game. Kudos!

Fun game, lack some character animation and was missing something! Overal a great game! Looking forward for further development

eugenik 2021-04-28 12:23

Wow! Nice game! the aesthetics are so cool :3.

borderdestroyer 2021-04-28 22:41

@alexandre-pedroza Thank you so much! I do understand what you mean with it getting too hard too quick and with it needing the "level design treatment", I was thinking that myself when I was putting it together, I just simply didn't have time for it. Thanks for the feedback though, it is much greatly appreciated!

borderdestroyer 2021-04-28 22:43

@peculiarcarrot Thank you so much for the feedback, I'll 10000% take it into account for the next time I do something like this! I'm glad that you enjoyed it!

borderdestroyer 2021-04-28 22:47

@evil-villain-games You're feedback is much appreciated! This was in fact my first game that I have ever created, which caused me to be a teensy bit nervous about doing this to say the least. I'm glad you enjoyed it, and thanks again for the feedback!

pabulum 2021-05-01 18:22

Nice game. I loved the 2 worlds mechanic. Maybe some kind of way to have a better idea of whats in the other one/ what only exists in your world would have been nice so you can make a plan with less trial and error. But for a first itme out this is insanely good!! Well done!

kr4ft3r 2021-05-01 21:15

Very nice for the first entry.

There is a part after a few levels when you jump up right to that moving platform which goes to the left as you stand on it, and when you fall from it (fell twice, not sure what I'm supposed to do there as in both dimensions there is an obstacle there) never seems to come back making you stuck (I think), that made me stopped playing, as restarting the level and getting back there takes some effort.

But it is a cool concept and main character is cute.

borderdestroyer 2021-05-01 21:24

@kr4ft3r Thank you so much for the feedback! If you're talking about the third level where you are getting stuck that is a bit confusing and I probably should have made it a bit more clear. You are supposed to jump back to the left towards the previous platforms and rush back to the beginning of the level so you can use the platform you activated to make it above the wall at the beginning. In hindsight it's not that great of a level, let alone a final level.

boxedmeatrevolution 2021-05-01 22:04

Holy cow that last level was difficult! For LD games, I would recommend toning down the difficulty a little more than you would think. One of our teammates is notorious for making "easy" games (hint: they are far from easy ). Other main feedback would be ease the player into the mechanics (e.g. switching world mid-air). Unless discovery of the subtle mechanics was intended, in which case a checkpoint system would be a welcome addition. Either way, this is a solid entry, especially for your first jam!

borderdestroyer 2021-05-01 22:12

@boxedmeatrevolution Thank you so much for playing my game! Your feedback is oh so much appreciated and I will most definitely remember it for in the future! I did kindof have the feeling when I was making the last level that it would be a bit too tough, I just simply didn't have enough time to simplify it. Again, thank you so much for the tips!
