Something
I'll be honest, I got stuck a lot. I wasn't quite sure what to do most of the time. Getting past the first door opening was really hard. I got to the part where I got a knife I think but wasn't quite sure what to do with it?
Not bad, but I would definitely suggest adding a little more instruction next time. The music was cool and the visuals were not bad. Good job overall!
beautiful little game, i like the mood, gg team :)
It is a really good looking game, even though it misses the animations and the textures for the player. Though the game is too hard right in the beginning, which should be changed if you don't want to lose players right in the beginning of the game I think. Anyways, be proud to have made a game during a jam, I hope you'll keep working on it, have a nice day ! :)
Nicely done! The visuals are interested and I really enjoyed the use of lighting, with that said it was very dark, I had trouble with seeing the platform and what to do to complete the puzzles. The levels were only very spread out, so I felt like I was just going all over the place (pixel hunting). Controls were quite touchy, made the platforming unnecessarily difficult. Overall great job!
I am into the 2.5d look and the lighting is great. Thanks for your work.
Really into the low poly artstyle and moody lighting, those are the strongest elements!
Controls don't feel as tight as they could and pressing up to jump is always a bit weird for me. Remapple controls or having jump be up but also a different button.
I think you have a strong start/base engine for a metroidvania or puzzle platformer for sure and like @mcdown said, some animations and textures for a player to convey their state like wall climbing would really elevate everything. A short tutorial level too that shows the player what they are expected to do and learn the mechanics would have been nice too.
Overall great job and good job finishing!
I uploaded our gameplay of your game on youtube, you can find it here: https://www.youtube.be/watch?v=1F0Ywiy2Mt8&t=6975s
Thanks for being part of the stream, it was amazing!
Overall this is a good entry. I really enjoyed the low poly design, the flower lighting up as we pass them and the level design was pretty good too. I believe the control may have been hard to use sometimes but it was not a big issue. If I would improve one thing, but it's not obligatory, it would be to make the knife comes back to you after you throw it. I had to kill myself and restart the level sometimes to retrieve it.
Congratulation though, this is a platformer that I enjoyed, and going for a 2.5d design is not common! I liked it!
I super enjoyed this game, the minimalistic graphics fit the setting really well and made it spooky to an extent. It was maybe a bit tough to understand exactly where you were to progress towards, but other than that little thing the gameplay was super fun. I would definitely play more of it if it were to ever get expanded upon. Great entry though in every aspect! Keep up the fantastic work!
The game is not always clear in what it wants you to do but I notices some nice designs in the levels. I think the game il lacking some animation but it's still a very good entry with nice graphics :)
Fun little puzzle platformer. Needs work on the controls.
at first I thought that getting stuck on the sides of platforms was a mistake but later I realized that it is one of the mechanics of how to pass the level. I also wanted to blame the lack of light, but even later I understood that it is one of the factors how to make the game interesting. Overall, I evaluate positively, I would like to highlight the original 3D processing of platforms.
I have to admit I got stuck, I wasn't sure what to do with the red plant, by the sound when I hit E I was eating it but I wasn't sure how to pass the level and what eating the plant actually accomplished. The graphics were okay but I would have made a character sprite. I liked the music, I would have just made the song a tad longer. Overall liked the concept and the feel I would just give more instruction :)
I think I've finished the game, but not very sure. :D There is some pretty good ideas, although it is not all clear. I enjoyed the puzzle parts, we want to have more, with more complexity. Well done !
I think the graphical style of this game is quite neat.
I have a very hard time completing most of the puzzles as the character is not particularly agile... when the game wants me to move between two spots quickly it seems almost unreasonably difficult to actually execute the intended movement. The way the character sticks to walls and sometimes floors makes precision movement difficult, especially when trying to move quickly.
I really enjoy the use of the different flowers as puzzle elements. The lighting-up flowers are definitely a lot of fun, although I sometimes had a hard time figuring out which one I could interact with. I also like the target flowers and the switch flowers, although it took me a long time to figure out what the target flowers are. I may have somehow skipped the level where they were introduced, I'm not sure.
I think the use of lighting with the 3D graphics really makes them more effective. I have previously seen lighting applied to 2D graphics in a 2D game but lighting applied to 3D graphics in a 2D game seems more effective, I would say, so good job there.
I enjoy the knife, especially the knife throwing mechanic. Throwing it into the target flowers is really satisfying.
Overall I would say this is a nice platforming game, just with a little too sticky of movement.
