I made it to the ship!

I really liked the game's atmosphere, and the voice acting was a nice touch. I also appreciated the tutorial at the beginning. It would have been nice if there were a few "easy" levels to practice moving around. Still, it was fun to master the controls and finally get the astronaut to safety!

Interesting idea, I had troubles playing it with my laptop touchpad but I liked the idea, Well done!

Super cool concept, I told myself I'd give it 3 runs and ended up doing 10

The concept is really good. The whole manual breathing thing was quite cool, I enjoyed having that busywork to keep me interacting, making even basic things feel panicky. It evoked a sense of being trapped, which is a really interesting blend of gameplay and theme.

I don't think the movement really works as a secondary mechanic. The movement didn't feel difficult, just frustrating. I think it's either a problem with the balance and level design, or maybe a problem with the mechanic as a whole. Maybe it needs some other mechanic, maybe puzzle based, rather than dexterity.

The art style felt a bit incoherent, the music was a little out of place. The sound design on the breathing was stellar though. Really creepy and tense.

All in all, fun little project. Could use a lot of polish.

Maybe I'm bad player, but this game seems to chaotic, watching both breath and really rapid movement in tight space I was unable to maitenance sense of stability once tutorial ended. I would love to see it with more precise movement at player disposal. It was too frustrating to me :<

I've played multiple rounds but it seemed to be impossible for me to reach the ship. I think the level is randomly generated? I kept running into some road/spaceblocks that I couldn't overcome with the amount of fuel I had. Playing the game felt pretty tense, I almost had difficulty breathing normally in real life. That as well as the concept are cool, but the seemingly impossibility of reaching the ship/shelter put a huge dent in the fun and experience. Maybe a little bit of additional fuel would make it a lot better, yet not too easy.

Well done on this. I has a little difficulty getting a handle on it at first, even with the tutorial bits, but that has more to do with the game's uniqueness than anything else. A jam game with a tutorial is a hard thing to do, so lots of kudos for that! Great work!

Your game has a good athmosphere, I tried to play by breathing in and out at the same pace as my character, it was stressful but I enjoyed it very much!! I especially liked the tutorial at the beginning. The only thing I would change would be the controls of the character that seem a bit chaotic or hard to master. Going through all these debris was really hard, I didn't manage to get to the ship either ahah

Neat game, I actually had no problem with keeping the breathing going, but the controls just felt really difficult to work with

The breathing mechanic and the atmosphere is great! However, it's very clear and others have told you too: it's pretty frustrating to navigate. I would literally adjust the speed of the debris just to make this a lot easier to play and experience. Sometimes you also get hit twice, which adds in the frustration.

Honestly I was expecting the fuel to recharge since I didn't get a game over when I ran out of fuel. It doesn't really help being hit with a loading screen every time you retry either... which helps in the frustration. (Is it literally trying to reload the voice lines all over again even after the tutorial?)

I really love how you did the tutorial, but even that, the instructions about balancing the CO2 goes so fast you end up skipping it because you're manually breathing.

Apparently going to fullscreen also breaks the game and makes it unresponsive. This is one of those use cases where you should have a desktop build, to be honest.

Despite the game is pretty cool and the atmosphere helps, sadly the execution of how you move actually diminishes what would be a pretty nice game. (Oh and I definitely made it into the ship)

Fun concept! I agree with others that it needs a bit of polish, but with one or two tweaks I think this could be a gold nugget. Perhaps in your next version, have the junk start flying by much more slowly at least until the player gets the hang of the controls.

I like the idea, but it is too difficult for me to move and avoid the red wreckage. I couldn't reach the ship. I think you can add an indicator that will display how much is passed and how much is left. The game slows down when loading a level. Visual design is very great and game has good athmosphere. I really liked the voice at the beginning, tutorial and sound.

tengusheath 2021-05-05 03:58

The sound design is really good and the mechanics are interesting, but I got frustrated playing. Trying to balance breathing, conserving fuel, dodging debris so you don't get hit, and navigating through debris was too much going on at once. There were too many times where I couldn't get out of the way of debris because of other debris in the way and was forced to take damage or use too much fuel to move out of the way.

I really like the concept but my brain wasn't trying to control all of the functions needed to play this. I am going to try to play it again while not low on sleep. Game crashed a few times for me.
