This is a relaxing sandboxy type game. I like the terrain generation. But I think the game could use a bit more guidance, because I didn't know what to do after digging around. I had fun trying to get to the bottom of the map, and fidding different ores. I wish we could dig sideways

A promising concept! Would love to have some kind of "score" or "money" that you'd spend on upgrades or just have that number out there, since right now you're pretty much just aimlessly digging dirt & stone. Loved that you can put lights, that was a nice touch! Maybe add an actual lamp object as well, I think it would look more natural this way. Anyways, good job!
Pretty alrighty, love the fact that you can place infinite light sources xD, only thing that was kinda tedious is going back up imo
Nice graphics and sound! The lighting is nice, and the drilling sound works really well. The gameplay is a bit light, without much motivation for the drilling, but as you say, as a sandbox it was fun to just play around a little bit. I kinda wanted to see the drill able to go sideways or something to avoid the tedious nature of raising the drill back up, but that wouldn't be very realistic I suppose. =)
As others already said, something like a highscore and threats to my drill would've been awesome.

Nice graphics and reference to jam theme, but this game after a few minutes is starting to be little boring.
This game fits well with the theme and as a sandbox isn't bad, but it could really use a sense of purpose, even as simple as a number of ores drilled counter. I found it a bit tedious that once you picked a spot and drilled down a bit you were locked to that hole, it ended up feeling like I just had to hold the down arrow and wait to see what happened. I think that this is a promising proof of concept, a with a few more features could end up a quite entertaining game. Well done for a game jam!

Agree with the people before, I need a purpose... But it is a nice start to something.
Reminds me of the old flash game Motherload a bit. I wonder where all the drill length comes from. You could probably make some puzzles with this mechanic to make it more interesting.
I like the audio, graphics, and general atmosphere
