I found the ladder but could not do anything else :(
You should be able to press 'e' when you get to the ladder. That will take you down to the next level.
Nice idea
I'd like to play your game, but sadly there is neither a Linux nor a Web version.
@pschichtel. Sorry. I wish I knew how to at least make a web version available, but I do not. I hard coded the game using Visual Studio. (No game engine). I have not yet learned how to port the games to other systems.
Nice start without engine ! (Cant defeat the boss :c) Good luck for the next jam !
You hard coded this in c++ and made the game with your kids? Now that's parent of the year right there! Looks very nice and the sound is awesome! you guys did a great job, congrats!
It must have been fun doing the game jam as a family. Great job guys. I feel like I was on the way to beating the boss, but it feels like he's going to get below a certain HP level, block and heal, and then repeat when he gets back to that HP threshold. Maybe I was wearing him down but it seemed like it would take forever. So my thought was "He has less HP than me. I won."
I think that's hardcore the game was hard coded in Visual Studio. Was a web export possible doing that?
Again good job on the jam.
First of all, I think its really cool that you made this game without an engine.
I really liked this game, the art is pretty simple but the environment and the boss look really cool and give the game a somewhat eerie mood, and the music was very fitting. Although I did get a little startled when I heard that weird sneezing sound. The boss fight was fun for a while, but I'm not sure that you are able to beat him because of how good the healing is and you can use it with no consequence. A cool-down where you and/or the boss had to wait a couple of turns before using the healing again would have been nice, but maybe I'm just bad, haha.
This is a cool little game that I had a lot of fun playing, good job :)
Very cool game idea, and even though some things were scrapped it was till a fun experience!
I enjoyed the exploration! The boss was really tough though, I got him down to half health a few times, but then he'd heal right back up. I didn't feel as though I was at risk of losing, but it seemed like winning would require a healthy amount of luck and time.
I think it's really cool that you made the game with your kids. The graphics were cute, and the soundtrack was a jam! Great work!
Really liked the soundtrack and the atmosphere of this game. It's a great idea that gives you the chance to scallate, and improve like a rpg or so.
On the other hand, i think the level design could be improved somehow, 'cause lacks a nice and sweet progression - for instance, the first enemy i found (Loved the battle as turns, by the way) takes forever to die, and causes almost the same amount of damage as player. It's like a boss already.
It would be really nice if the game have little enemies before, to explain the battle mechanics, and then scalate on harder enemies.
With thah said, i really liked playing it and think that has a lot of potencial. Hope you continue working on this project, wish you the best!
Totally agree with LRVStudios up here. Nice to read its a family project!
