So funny. I like it.
A really beautiful game ! The graphics are amazing and the gameplay is really fun ! The fact that you can dig forward and backward really makes it original and interesting ! Also, I really loved the transition screens ! Long live the Queen !
This was a really nice jam game just short enough but not too short really liked it
I really like the graphisms , cool game!
I like the animal facts part. Very funny game :D. Good music and graphics (especially the queen XD). I haven't encountered a pseudo-3D before (or so I believe), but I liked the added mechanic a lot :)
The naked mole rat trivia was a great touch, it injects some great personality into the game and it taught me things! Moving upwards was frustrating sometimes since I felt I should be able to climb back up in ways that weren't possible, at which point I'd get trapped and die, and if that wasn't the case I'd outrace the snake easily. Might have been interesting to make the snake speed up so that simply creating long paths wouldn't be enough to outrun it if you took too long. But overall I enjoyed it and now I have all these wonderful mole-rat inspired topics for conversation!
@risk4bisk Thanks for the kind words! We hadn't actually seen a situation where we got stuck. Did you use the other layers? The pseudo-3D aspect of the game was the hardest part for us to make obvious while also satisfying the aesthetics of the game.
@bitdecay Yeah, I think it was just bad luck, every layer I went through was also blocked at the bottom and I died before I found a way out because it was early on. I really enjoyed the various layers (I guess I just forgot to mention it in my feedback like a fool), but it did take me a few runs to realize I could do it. Inspired by your comment I tried to go recreate the same situation, but no matter how much I cornered myself I was finding exits in the other layers. However in trying to find that problem I was able to get the snake stuck by switching layers very quickly. Still had a fun time, and got reminded of how much I enjoyed the music on my replay. Keep up the good work!

Love the palalax between levels. It get mi a while to understand that you can moove in 3D
Nice trivia about rats!
Really interesting game. Like you mentioned, it's similar to mine but very different at the same time. I love the parallax effect and the mole facts. I wanted to include earthworm facts in mine but didn't find the time D:
Waw, what a nice jam. Interesting mechanics, didn't expect going on the Z axis as well.
Holey Moley, the pseudo 3d mechanism is GENIUS!
Holey Moley! The 3d movement was well executed. The parallax gave it nice depth. Right before the queen's den did pose some good difficulty, the snake nearly got me.
Holey Moley! Definitely one of my favourite games so far! The mole rat facts are neat, it's fun to explore (while the following snake also makes it pretty tense), and it's a solid take on the theme. The one thing I think would improve it would be if the snake could find its way towards you. I tried zig-zagging back and forth (ie. going left across the level on one layer, dropping down a bit, then going right on the next). I got quite a way ahead of the snake, and though I'm reasonably confident I crossed my own tunnels at some points (meaning that the snake had a shorter route available to it) I don't get the impression it did anything other than follow my exact route. Still, a top-notch effort even as it stands!
@damonwakes thanks for the feedback! The snake does do some actual pathfinding, but it gets a little strange due to how the layers are handled. It was very hard to get the snake feeling "smart" without him destroying the player too quickly... So we opted to make the game easier to allow players to explore more and have more time with the game.
I was able to beat it with 7 naked mole rat younglings! I liked the different naked mole rat facts. The snake pursuing you was unexpected and I died the first time I tried playing haha. The layers was an interesting concept, though there's not too much time to explore with the snake chasing you, but I did like how you could see layers of rock and find gaps to get through that way. Overall I liked it, nice job!
Top number I got was 8 saved. The pseudo-3D stage was probably my favorite thing about this. Well... maybe the second favorite after the naked mole rat facts like "Naked mole rats cannot survive being eaten by snakes"
