Ehh maybe don't publish your game before you are done? This is stuck now on the front page because you gave some reviews but you cant recieve any...

I think you've got a bug. I played twice, and I killed all of the enemies in the first room but none of the doors will open. Also, I think you need some kind of indication of your current aim position. the sprite only looks left and right so you can't tell when your aiming up or down.

I like the idea, and the game is playable. Would love to see it after it's polished. Because right now i got stuck on the second level, i assumed you couldn't finish.

Ok now this is epic! :sunglasses: :weary: :sweat_drops: :sweat_drops: In all seriousness i think this is a very cool project

This game is very good. I made it all the way to the end and the secret easter egg after the third boss is very nice. 7/10. Cant wait for the sequel. My wife also loved the game, but my son, who is five, hated the soundtrack. Maybe its because he loves normie games and is named Joe.

I'm stuck, but in a pile of stones. Overall, not bad

luksusdyr 2020-10-05 22:50

@yokoonfire The point of the game is, that the dead enemies will turn to stone after you leave the room. Attempting to kill them in a way so as to not block your own path is part of the gameplay. This was probably not made clear enough in the game. Thanks for playing it!

Hey!

Main menu is quite sweet. Spell casting seems little bit unplayable.

Right now your visuals are pretty good, but gameplaywise it is difficult to shot enemies and also there are too many rock that block movement completly.

Keep up working and maybe it will become cool roguelike-ish game.

Regards, Alex!

@ausstein the game is done now, you should try it and maybe edit your comment.

I like I think the idea of this project is cool and follow the theme perfectly.

However, I encountered a bug that blocked me. The first time not all the skeletons spawned and I couldn't go to the next room

Gameplay wise it's simple but interesting. In my opinion the spellcasting is too hard to use you should maybe track the mouse instead.

I also laughed when a skeleton spawned between rocks but I could not advance anymore (maybe check that too ;) )

Well overall a nice entry with good graphics congrats

There were a quite a few bugs and the stones really stuck me in a loop haha

But overall, it was pretty nice, really cute graphics !

I really like the pixel work in this game. Looks great! The concept is good and fits well with the theme. The aiming is a little tough at times. Also some kind of score or loop count would be nice. Nice job I hope you expand on this after the jam!

telescape2000 2020-10-26 16:50

Pixel art and sound were very good. I didn't feel like I was making much progress when I played but I liked how the the shooting and movement felt. Overall very good!

noah100 2020-10-26 16:54

Pretty cool concept for the loop, but there should be some sort of end point, or progression, and not just keep playing until it becomes impossible to move on.

Cool entry. I got locked in a room after dying, not sure what happened there. Moving and shooting fireballs feels really good, good job there. Although, I wish there was some way to know which way I'm facing, because the single direction sprite + the 8 direction firing is a little jarring.

Pretty good graphics. I love the pixel art. I noticed you used a NES style thumbnail. Using the NES aesthetic is an easy way to make a game feel retro and "authentic", (it's almost like cheating, which is why I often use an NES Pallet and some NES rules)

There is also some extra work you need to do with Unity to get closer to "pixel perfect", you may want to research that, using 2D Tilemap, and maybe even 2D Pixel Perfect Camera. It will help with those lines appearing between your tiles, and keep everything nice and aligned with nice chunky pixels!

I also HIGHLY recommend checking out "The Art of Screenshake"

Nice art and idea, I found it was a bit hard to control where I was shooting the fireballs. I got stuck in the second level, nothing happened after I killed all the enemies.

Well done.

codertrevor 2020-10-27 04:15

Cool idea, it really forces you to strategize how and where you will kill the enemies in order to not trap yourself in the future. Like others have said, I encountered a bug on my first playthrough where I killed all the enemies I saw but the door never opened. In my final run what did me in was a skeleton spawning surrounded by corpses and I couldn't kill him. All this game is really lacking is some kind of score that makes the player want to keep challenging themselves with additional runs. Overall though, it's a good game!

luiz-henrique-freire 2020-10-27 04:20

This game surprised me, I liked it a lot!
