I like the game, short but also fun!
That was fun! I liked that it didn't overreach and just used the mechanics it had well.
Nicely done
Short and interesting game, there were a couple spelling mistakes here and there (ie. 'quare shaped' instead of square, I'm assuming) but nothing game breaking. Luckily not too tedious with the fetch quests, but some of the interactions didn't make total sense to me. Overall not bad!
I didn't expect to see a text adventure game from the jam, interesting angle to start from
I like the general flow of the game, it gets a sort of bartering and trading feel, but unfortunately most of the trading feels random, and since you can see the available options before you get the necessary item, you don't really have to remember anything besides the room where you saw the item prompt.
I think you should lean more into the characters, driving the player with their needs, and let the player figure out how to get the items they need to progress.
Interesting concept, but one thing to watch out for is the way I played... I was able to play the game without reading any of the text. I just clicked on the buttons that were enabled and they were always the correct choice, so I got to the dark room probably in less than a minute of gameplay. Solid progression though. Congrats on the submission!
Interesting game! I guess I finished, since I "got out" and there were no further options there  The UI could be a bit better, but apart from that, I enjoyed playing.
Interesting concept. The story was pretty linear though, it would be great to see some branching (like, for example, you could give the book either to the guard or to the musician, or you could save the eel and put it into a fountain). That would introduce branching and possible multiple endings. In this case I guess it would make sense to use something like RenPy and not Unity. If you add all those - could be a great game, but nice job anyway :)
I think this is a the first text-adventure I've ever played while reviewing LD jam entries - well done for trying something different! The basic find and exchange items mechanic that forms the staple of the genre is strangely compelling, making your entry fairly fun, even though very few of the exchanges actually made sense to me. For example: an eel? Why?!
Your game would've been much better if the world exhibited more internal logical consistency and gave some more motivation for doing things... why am I escaping? Why is the man in the warehouse destitute? What is he going to do with the trap? Who was the merchant and why did he like books so much? So many questions - none of them answered...
Also, the theme was start with nothing: I find pants in the first scene... I was convinced I should equip them somehow before I go anywhere, but turns out I must've had some already because my only option was to give them away...
Thank you all for the feedback and constructive criticism.
@alexfsmirnov The game was not going to be a linear game, but we ran short of time (as you can see the keys not being used at the end).
@chaotikza We had an idea (lore) for every character and item in the game, but again we just ran short of time.
In-brief: The warehouse guy has some pest problems and he's really hungry; the merchant was really bored and you can't do much in a prison-like place. The player also had health points, money, %warmth/cold as you can see in the UI of the game, but due to the late start of development we had to cut some of the mechanics that we were going to implement (some of them were almost fully implemented).
"Impressive game, Very cool concepts. I left wishing that there is more. Had a lot of fun "
Not a bad text quest.
