The game is a little simple in the state that it's in, but it's very functional. I didn't run into any bugs while playing, and had no trouble finding what seemed to be the end of the dungeon. Unfortunately, by that time I was used to mindlessly running around killing goblins, and I ran into what I assume is the final boss (D) and killed it immediately before getting a chance to inspect it.
I liked the intro, with the blinding light when you exit the first room - injects some personality into what is otherwise a bog-standard rogue-like.

Very robust game!! I've never played a traditional text-based roguelike before so the controls were a little obtuse at first, but I ended up getting around it (found out by chance that ESC exits out of "look around" mode... i was wondering why my screen wasn't moving ) None of the goblins ever seemed to do any damage to me, my HP was always maxed out - I also thought that my HP was increasing a little too fast... it was multiplying by 2 each time until I had over 132,000 HP?!
That aside, I agree with NickNameless above - the game is very functional and the intro was a nice touch! Good jam!!
The game is pretty dense, I think it caused me conflicting emotions during the game play.. But you can see a game well worked and no bugs

Like @bdeleho, this was my first text-based rouguelike. It was so cool to see the players view expressed as text and see the view frustum.
Combat would be way more satisfying with challenge and some indication that I'm being hurt and/or hurting enemies. Initially I didn't know I could just move towards enemies to attack them... I kept pressing t to target then pressing Enter multiple times on the enemies (is this a ranged attacked?). It felt like i had a lot of time to find and attack enemies with no threat.
I'd love to see what kinds of levels you could craft given more time.

@ashashza Well you can follow me on itch.io as I'll continue working on this one. I really liked the experience doring this game and wish to ~~continue~~ start the story of that character.

I'm probably the target demographic, since I play lots of traditional and newer roguelikes and roguelites, 7DRLs, etc, and I've used libtcod before.
I think trying to implement a full fledged RL within the span of an LD is pretty ambitious, since there are multiple systems that have to be put into place before it's playable. Right now theres dungeon generation, FoV, monster AI, but there's so much more that need to be put in. It's pretty playable atm, and I don't have many complaints based on what I've experienced (I managed to kill the Dragon at the end). Regardless, I see a promising start, and hope to see more in the future!
Good start to a game. I like the first screen, it was done very well; the colors showing up over time was cool. I didn't play long enough to run into the boss as it seemed like not much was happening.
I did manage to crash the game by walking off the grass downwards.
One thing: I originally wasn't going to play because I'm not on Linux. You should add a link called "Windows" to your submission so people will know it's available on Windows as well.

Rogue-like games fit this theme perfectly, as at first, you have to go down in the void bare-handed adn, well, yes, start with nothing. You've made a descent rogue-like. Cave adventures get repetitive soon, but the intro part is cool!

@honey-pony Oh yeah! I forgot to add the windows link! That would explain why my itch.io stats have so many linux download compared to windows. Thanks
@jusw85 I'll continue this one, I really liked it so far and yeah there's so many thing to implement.
Very cool game! It's the first text style game I've ever played, so I'm impressed how deep you managed to build the game in the short amount of time. Good job!
Wow, I'm really impressed with how fully implemented this is for being a LD entry! Really awesome work. There's still a lot of mechanics to be implemented, and there isn't much of a loop currently after the intro, but I think you've got a great foundation here if you ever did want to keep expanding on this. Seriously, this is awesome you got all of this done. Also, love the Dwarf Fortress vibe - not just the ASCII art but even the user interface is a nice homage to that and other text adventures and rogue likes.

@joe-bustamante Thanks for the comment, I play a lot of dwarf fortress, let me tell you a secret I didn't knew where I was going with the design of the UI, I drew it and then realize it was like DF, at that moment I was happy with it.
for the strong base, that is what I'm thinking too, that's why I decided to continue to develop that game and add to the lore arround the Hero.

This was shockingly cool. Definitely has a strong Dwarf Fortress vibe, which I love, but it also does some super unique things. That first moment where the room generates around you is great, and then putting the whole world into color after killing the first enemy was incredible. It's a shame the rest of the game takes place in a dungeon, honestly. I would've loved to have seen some more neat effects on top of the ASCII art. Looking beyond the graphics, I definitely felt overpowered, which really took the fun out of it for me. It's a shame this didn't quite get there in time.
On the whole I think this is a really cool entry that just needed some more time in the oven. Still, nice work!

Nice entry. This is the first proper rogue-like I've played so pretty new to this scene. But seems pretty good. I liked how you gain the ability to see colours at the beginning. Anyway best of luck if you're going to continue development on it!
Really great work on the visual design of the dungeon. Old Rogue vibes are strong with this one. I had my stats in the billions and wasn't sure if that was by design but managed to stay fun regardless :)
Great work on the game, I had a strong Angband feel while playing this one! My stats were somewhat quite high, but you mentioned that in description.
It also looks like you made it from scratch, well - in that case, it's good job!

@zgragselus I used python-tcod as a library, but I still did ~1500 lines of codes during that weekend.
I've heard of Angband but never tried it. I must say that I'm not really knowledgeable of old roguelikes, I've tried Adom, rogue and brogue, but never get really far in them. I'm not patient enough to play them, but I quite like the idea of the genre. I'm also a fan of the fortress mode in DF, I've tried adventure mode, but it's hard to grasp all the things you need to know to play well.

The lighting on the trees was cool! I felt fairly overpowered by the third level.

It feels like an Ultima game... No my kind but well done.
The lighting system was great! But man, I don't think I've ever seen a normal sword so broken in one of these games.

Roguelike is a great utilization of the theme! Game ran well, only bug I encountered was a goblin being inside a wall. Sound effects would help a ton, and a bit more dmg on the enemies, as I dont think I ever got hit! But great work!
