Looks and sounds quite polished. The movement felt a bit hard to control and floaty though. Also, adding a soundtrack goes a long way to round off your game. Great job nonetheless!
This was a really cool concept. I love the resource management aspect to it while still being able to move in a very unique and creative way. Definitely screwed myself over some times by trapping myself into a wall without anywhere to go but into spikes, but that helped me learn to be methodical as to where I strided. A lot of fun!
Concept is great. It would be helpful to know how long the platform can be. Digging the silver surfer or iceman style platforming idea though.
Wow, a really innovative platformer! The checkpoint system is a huge relief. Even so, I wasn't skilled enough to do a lot of wall jumps so I didn't get far. :/ Great job!
Simply fantastic game! Smoothest platformer I've seen yet, combined with innovative mechanics and great art. A real winner! If I were to add anything, I'd say it could use some music, and maybe a way to erase my platforms/walls.
This is a pretty cool idea. The mechanics worked well, but I had trouble with the wall creation- something about pushing the opposite direction just didn't fit in my brain! I think it might help to have an introduction to the basics, something like a tutorial level or even a more gradual learning curve that focused on one aspect at a time. But overall this was well done!
The pixel art style is really nice and gives it a feel of polish.
Sadly, the mechanics are just... really not for me. I found myself trapping myself with walls more than using them in a way that helps.
It seems like maybe an 'erase' feature could be helpful. Also the fact that the floor would continue to get painted in as the player was running across it (regardless if the down key was pressed) made movement extremely difficult. Much more than it needed to be.
The concept is very innovative though and again, the chosen style and presentation is strong!
Love the 'making wall' puzzle mechanic. Platformer movement was smooth and responded well. I appreciated the checkpoints and got a good bit into it. Really good, unique platformer!
Generally agree with the other reviewers here. Loved the concept, like the ability to draw your own walls and platforms. Gradually gets harder and love the checkpoint system!
love the eye balls!
A fun mechanic and overall enjoyable game that can be played with one hand. Quite liked the color scheme and I felt the character movements were fluid. Sound stopped shortly after starting for me. One of the checkpoints was placed above spikes and put me in an infinite death loop which is where I stopped. Before this happened though, the platforming challenges were very fun.
Neat concept and very playable. The mechanics were consistent and became intuitive. Also, I like what you did with the graphics. Gave it a very 80's feel.
Oh hell yeah this game is good. I really love the mood and the artstyle you guys went for and the mechanic of being able to create platforms is done super well. Some of the problems i notice is a lack of in game tutorials, the song is pretty good but it really grinds your ears, the player controls could be more responsive and less slidey. Though this game is super fun!
@essence I totally agree about the song! (I made the music.) The loop point is bad & it never gives the listener enough of a break to cool off before diving into the buildup again. This is one part I might actually see about changing after the scoring period is up & add a bit more of a quiet break at the end of the loop, if only because it gets *so annoying* after a few minutes. Thanks for the feedback!
