Nice little platformer. I got up to the level where I learned "dash", but it was very difficult to know where you need to go. I think you should have increased the view a little, so the player is able to see ahead a bit more.

Also, quite a critical bug: touching anything red didn't kill me. Enemies didn't kill me, and the red ground at the bottom of the dash level didn't kill me either. So I had to go back to the main menu and start all over, which left me frustrated.

I liked how you built the levels though. The additional abilities gained were well complemented by levels which required them! Good job.

thiago-nascimento 2019-10-07 12:42

I failed at the second level and I didnt know how to restart it .-.

solnak 2019-10-07 12:50

Well, you can't make a game that fit the theme more than your game i guess x) Otherwise, it's pretty simple and enjoyable, good work :) !

kuviman 2019-10-07 12:54

After failing you have to save and quit then restart the game instead of just restarting the level, which is pretty annoying.

The level with double jump through wall doesn't seem to be beatable for me.

The idea is great tho

webus 2019-10-07 12:55

is there a way to play game without downloading it?

bungalow 2019-10-07 13:01

Overall pretty fun, the only problem would be, as stated in other comments, the restarting system. But other than that, loved it and it's a great first game jam entry!

bocodillo 2019-10-07 14:04

I really like how a lot of what was taught to the player was reinforced in the next level and the progression for new abilities. The music was fine and the controls were alright, although I found the wall climbing/jumping to be a bit awkward without just resorting to mashing arrow keys.

jhoffis 2019-10-07 20:04

The music was fine, but very repetetive. Wish there was a volume mixer for music. It was hard to know how many lvls there were left and they were pretty darn difficult which is fine, but not fine if the saving does not work.

will-lucena 2019-10-08 01:59

I don't know if the controller was intended, but maybe with WASD it could be a better experience, and I wasn't able to really understood of how the high jump works

clickbait 2019-10-08 15:06

Fun puzzle platformer. Great job!

nikita-demidov 2019-10-08 16:41

@jhoffis I kinda rushed the music. There are 14 levels and a boss. The saving works(did you press SAVE&QUIT ?).Thanks for your feedback!

nikita-demidov 2019-10-08 16:42

@will-lucena I'll try to make better controls and better explanations next time! Thanks!

nikita-demidov 2019-10-08 16:44

@webus I didn't try to run it on a Browser yet. I don't know how to do it. I will watch some YT-tutorial on it later.

vaibho 2019-10-08 20:46

The graphics were simple but nice for this type of game. The sound was in match with game concept. I liked the game concept and enjoyed playing it. Overall, a nice game.

selkkie 2019-10-09 19:59

A nice platformer! The level design was frustrating in that satisfying way. There were some spelling issues in the text, and the graphics were a bit simplistic, but for a compo piece you went a good ways! Nice work.

mad-brokli 2019-10-11 18:46

Fun game. Level design was challenging, which I like. Nice touch on the blinking eyes :) For a compo well done.

aret24 2019-10-11 18:50

Game is cool, music is great, and graphics are normal, but It was impossible to make through that red gap with yellow diamonds :D

nikita-demidov 2019-10-11 18:59

@vaibho Thanks for playing! @selkkie I'm not good in English. Should I use grammarly? @mad-brokli Thanks! @aret24 You made it more than half way through. My idea for that level was that you had to hold down G before touching the wall.I think the problem is in the controls(They are kinda strange, I know).

aret24 2019-10-11 19:54

@nikita-demidov - Few question for last: 1 - Are you from Russia??? 2 - How old are you??? (I'm 13 years old) 3 - I wonder what after first half of your game were???

nikita-demidov 2019-10-11 20:18

@aret24 1- I'm from Germany but my parents are from russia. 2- I'm 13! 3- (Spoiler!) You get the ability to double jump. At the end a boss is chasing you.

itsdanidre 2019-10-12 01:21

Okay, so your game started off pretty basic and halfway through, frustrating.

Then I got all these abilities and....even Tom is shocked  *watchu mean only?!??*

I enjoyed this game overtime, the **BOSS** battle did have me shrieking at first lol. But now, I'm a pro :sunglasses:

nikita-demidov 2019-10-12 06:39

@itsdanidre Good job! Congratulations and Thanks for playing!

bradleyashley 2019-10-13 18:34

I wasn't paying attention and downloaded the .app first, you might want to swap it for smoothbrains like me. The level design works with the limited controls very well! Graphics were as charming as they can be for something that simple and that's what counts.

snailrhymer 2019-10-13 23:18

Wow, you squeezed a lot of ideas into a very short game jam! I think some of the challenges might have been better if the player had more opportunity to practice before a very difficult section. For example, the first time we see the yellow gems for dashing, we have to dash perfectly between two red blocks, land on and climb up a wall before dashing between another two red blocks. We didn't have the opportunity to investigate quite how the mechanic worked before being expected to use it nearly perfectly. GMTK has some great videos on level design: (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dBmIkEvEBtA), talking about how you can first introduce ideas and then develop on them so that the player doesn't feel overwhelmed.

Difficulty aside, I think you did a great job combining the abilities to make some interesting (and very challenging) challenges, well done!

odeyalko 2019-10-14 18:14

simple, interesting game. Nice work!

ruthiepee 2019-10-18 11:36

Nice platformer! Overall the game feels very complete because it includes a save button, a tutorial, and all the parts that make it a game. I can't believe there are 14 levels too, I gave up about halfway but I've never been very good at platformers. ;) The graphics are simple but they get the job done. Nice work!
