One of the bests I've tryed so far. The art, the intro and that duck mom are just amazing. Congratulations!

harksa 2019-04-29 19:28

This was a cute little experience and I'd absolutely love to see more of it ! I do hope you'll update it and add more levels to it because the only real downside I have to say about this game is that it is too short.

goblinportal 2019-04-29 19:30

Never used GB Studio but this was a great game.

youpeoples 2019-04-29 19:30

So cute. I love your art! Did you also do the music? Incredible for a FIRST game.

liauj 2019-04-29 19:33

Short, sweet, and nostalgic! I wasn't aware of GB Studio, that's pretty neat. I probably spent more time walking around looking at the game's beautiful art than trying to make it to the end!

kaeveris 2019-04-29 20:31

That's a very cool game! It looks great and the sound is very cool! Nice use of the theme

velvetlobster 2019-04-30 03:29

misu 2019-04-30 05:28

@harksa Thank you! I'd really like to make other levels. I already have the tiles for them, is just that thinking about puzzles and dialogues takes time..!

caranha 2019-04-30 07:21

Heh, very neat! I really loved the gameboy feel with the spritework and the music.

Next time let's sit down to make a longer continuation to this game! I want to find out what the snake needs all those hearts for!

misu 2019-04-30 09:40

thanks! @youpeoples the music was made by @cornettheory . Since It was my first game I got stucked a lot. When It happened I just draw a lot of pixel art, and with all the tiles I try to create maps and ideas!

misu 2019-04-30 09:59

@liauj I'm glad you enjoyed It! gb has limits so I couldnt put all of the tiles I made sigh

misu 2019-04-30 10:00

the-nomi 2019-04-30 11:15

the dialogues had such Pokemon vibes and I felt nostalgic (er, I haven't played Pokemon in ages). well done!

maxr00 2019-04-30 17:49

Really nice retro vibes, also I'm a big fan of that Game Boy cartridge art!

z0rlog 2019-04-30 19:58

Instant like for a GB game. Felt very nostalgic to play, great job!

samuli 2019-04-30 20:38

Awesome, another GB game (I did one for this LD as well)!

GB Studio is a fantastic program. I don't personally use it as I can handle code well, but it is nice to see barrier to entry, even for retro games development getting lower. This was a REALLY good for a first game. You should be proud of yourself. <3

mahou 2019-04-30 21:28

Omg this has the cutest game I have played on Ludum Dare, characters are cute, song are cute, everything is cute, probably I will try to make a game boy game on the next LD too!

misu 2019-05-01 14:39

@the-nomi @maxr00 @z0rlog Thank you! I'm glad so many people are playing and enjoying this game. I wasn't very sure while making it that people would be able to enjoy It...! @samuli Than you for your kind support, I want to make more levels in this game now! @mahou Thanks! You should totally give it a try!

nettaigyo 2019-05-02 05:38

sakai 2019-05-02 08:51

It is a cute story and graphic! The quality is very high.

wongkongphooey 2019-05-06 19:55

Makes me want to have a go at GB Studio myself! Great work, a real nostalgia trip with some lovely graphics work. Maybe continue working on it to make it longer post jam? I really enjoyed it and want more! Well done!

potatolain 2019-05-06 23:02

I love your art!! I'm excited to see so many retro entries this Ludum Dare. Usually there's only one or two; I'm really excited to see programs like GBStudio getting people like you into game creation.

I'm kind of reiterating what people have already said, but this was a very fun entry. I liked how you used the theme, and you managed to make a very fun experience.

Thanks for a fun entry!

misu 2019-05-13 05:09
