Interesting dynamic where you gain a life every time you get a life.
The retro themed was done well but I felt that the controls were a little clumped. The spacebar paired with the wasd controls makes it hard to shoot and maneuver at the same time. I think you could move the ship movement controls to the arrow keys. Or you could have the shoot button mapped to the mouse.
The game is engaging and fun to play, and the life being currency I feel is being very well integrated into this game. It could use some work graphically, but the game is very good in gameplay, and for me, that is what comes first in every game.
Great Job!, I love space shooter games, and playing this one was really fun!
My only suggestion is to add a small text_label below the upgrades to explain each one of the upgrades, Overall nice game. Congrats!
I was a little confused at how the upgrades worked. I picked one up and then it said Game Over? Did I pay with my only remaining life for it?
The art is old school, but some of the upgrade icons weren't immediately clear to me. Nice parralax scrolling of space dust to show movement.
The game was fun and the gameplay was pretty awesome, it just took me some time to get to know the controls and the other problem I had were with lives, because in the screen just show that u have 2 lives but u actually have 3. And I faced a little bug were I killed the last enemy and it killed me, then the shop screen wouldnt go away. But the game was awesome nonetheless
Fun space shooter! I think the lives vs powerups tradeoff works well. It would be even nicer if the enemies had different movement patterns.
Upgrades need some work but otherwise this is an awesome and fun game! :)
Starts very easy and suddenly goes crazy hard.
Great use of theme and love the retro feel! If you're ever in need of original music I'd be happy to contribute.
