What you can improve: * add sounds * add random pattern for spawning enemy * vary enemy and environment

I like the graphics and the controls are smooth. The gameplay can be a bit repetitive and I get an error when buying the freeze item when there are no enemies, which isn't much of a problem. You should probably check if there are any enemies before applying freeze. https://gyazo.com/6ee721298176ff0fd0858f54f944ce4a Other than that, good job. I like the game. :D

So you definitely got the theme in, and most of the actual mechanics did what you would expect them to do, but there were some broad things you might want to look into changing for your next jam. Other than the basics like sound or animation, you always at least something that really makes your game unique, some kind of twist. So for this game, something simple could be possibly reducing the cost of the items depending on how many enemies were on screen to incentivize the player to kite them or survive with a ton of them chasing you, or something else like spawning more enemies every time you open the shop, but have a cap on the maximum number of items to make the player buy in bulk and then have less health. Overall good effort and with this as a base I can see some great games in the future.

like the way you drew the sprites, reminds me of the graphics on atari 2600 games. you got bullseye on the theme.

Solid little game! Would have loved for the difficulty to ramp up more - I felt I was always in control. (more enemies, more HP for the enemies, different behaviour)

Initially I thought that the time would progress during shopping, which I found interesting (making shopping hectic) - but I found out it was not. :) Perhaps an idea!

Nicely done!

Nice! Mechanics and gameplay are basic, but it all works well together!

Overall I agree with @wiredoverload that some extra "hook" or special factor would give the game more identity. But on such a short time, getting the game done is already a lot! So, congrats on that! Well done :)

Keep up the hard work!

Hey, ive got the next error:

___________________________________________ ############################################################################################ FATAL ERROR in action number 1 of Mouse Event for Left Released for object obj_buyfreeze:

Unable to find any instance for object index '13' name 'obj_enemy' at gml_Object_obj_buyfreeze_Mouse_7 ############################################################################################ -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- stack frame is gml_Object_obj_buyfreeze_Mouse_7 (line -1)

It's easy to fix though :P

About the game: i like that generally( in spite of that error above) it works properly and controls are comfortable. Exlosions after bullets look pretty cool. Seems like you had some fun doing that game and you enjoyed it

Decent start but the way the enemies are entirely predictable and only come two at a time makes it very easy just to stand still and shoot everyone. The additional things you can buy were not useful.

I agree with the above that the waves should be quicker and more appear at once. In all the other cases though it's a good base game. I liked the bullet hit effect but it would have felt even with an accompanying sound effect.

Well done! The shooting mechanics were clean, but I think a few more items in the shop and more enemy variety would make this better!
