A cute game with lovely graphics! I found that the best strategy for winning was to keep rolling them steady 1s and never spending anything in the shops, letting the other players shop themselves to death. At least that is what worked best for me and my bad dice RNG. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: :game_die:

On my wishlist is more varying music and a way to fast forward the other players turns. Great work!

I like the idea of making a board game on the computer like that, it's not something that I've ever seen in a game jam. The graphics make the experience quite "real" too, so good job on that. Unfortunately, I felt the game was quite boring. It's mostly random, which I don't really enjoy, and when played alone, it feels weird to have the bots' turn take that long. Still, the game looks good and is really well done overall!

Very smooth implementation of a classic board game! Relaxing music, nicely put together graphics and animations, really well done! :) Most of the time while playing, it felt like I was watching very long cutscenes without a lot of variation (obviously). And sometimes I was confused why I couldn't take action except pressing the space bar and waiting... I guess my brain is just used to trying to interact as soon as I see these game-like mechanics. Maybe the gameplay would feel more "game-like" if there were more things to do, i.e. decisions the player has to take. Otherwise, it just feels like a simulation mainly determined by chance. Or maybe a fast-forward option would already help. Otherwise, very nice ideas! I liked the life insurance and the shops as game elements, and everything seemed quite well balanced! Unfortunately, I died just a couple of steps before the end... :( Nice work! :)

Snakes & ladders boardgame with life - I like it! Would have loved more events and a fast-forward for the bot turns (they are slooowww). Graphics are nice, and good animations where needed.

The aesthetics are great! The music, art style and genre mash together very well. I think it's one of those games that would actually do better without the awful "life is currency" constraint. Having colliders on both the dice and the envoronment can get awkward, though - gameoffields.PNG

At first I didn't like the fact that the randomness plays a huge role in who wins in the game-until I found out that since all the rolls are affected by the landscape and begins relative to the screen's position, if I zoom in/out and then make the roll either in between the zooming or after the zoom, I can adjust where the dice would hit on the terrain, which actually lead to my first win against the AIs, haha. I would like a fast foward button though.

Very nice game, I liked all the options you give and the animations on some of the shortcuts like the boat were quite cool. Although the game is a classic die game (very RNG dependant) I feel that the choices you put in it are well done and help bring some more control over your fate. Also, it fits very well into the theme.

I did however get stuck in a similar manner to the image from the comment above. So maybe having the die being thrown in a cube or somewhere flat would solve that problem.

Keep up the good work! :D

@multiplexor @maychant I've noticed the bug as well. I'll push a quick fix this evening. Thanks for all your feedback!

Entertaining! I bought a trap on my first roll without realizing exactly how it worked or what it did, and it cost me the game at the end: I was 2 squares from the finish and landed on spikes, losing my last heart.
