Hooo-Ly

This game is fabulous.

Entertained me from the beginning to the end!

It has everything! That sense of discovery and revelation when you first see the []SPOILER FORWARD[]

[]SPOILER ALERT[]----side drawers(Imho you could've hidden them more and played around the concept of seemingly simple box with secrets opening etc.)was just breathtaking; That sense of completion once you see that you can take a hang of *your* life and things get to work so well!.

[]END OF SPOILER

I also would've used the desk as a placement tool for easter eggs and funny things, e.g. every time you start a new profession a collectable related to that job appears on the desk.

Another suggestion would be use a randomly generated name system and appearance system just to make it a little more "personal" and then create a genealogic tree to see how you escalated in professions and possessions trough time!

There are a couple of bugs here and there (e.g. if you put hearts on the job drawer and then decide to change job all your tokens are gone forever), and the graphics don't feel polished enough (maybe a better shader? A more realistic and defined enviroment with light sources? Who knows!

In conclusion, I see lots of talent and expandability in this project and I'm looking forward to further development!

Good Job!

BOI! This game is amazing! I spent a couple hours just going for Emperor instead of making my own game XD Can't wait for voting to open so I can rate 5-stars in everything. Untitled.png

This seemed really interesting, giving the player a bit more direction might be helpful as I sort of just fumbled around dying a lot

This game was an extremely fun game to play. Left me wanting more!

@gear-steak I don't agree. I've lost some time wandering pointlessly around in the first runs but then, when I understood the mechanics, this all turned out to be very rewarding and pleasing, and I started to plan my moves carefully.

@siebenmik Agree to disagree then, a game shouldn't need multiple attempts to understand its mechanics. With that said I believe this could be really good with some more time, I hope that work continues after the jam

I love the very concept of it, and the design is adorable! Great entry.

I didn't noticed drawers at first, took me some time to notice there's side drawers as well, but maybe that's how you wanted it to be. Somehow I can't put a heart in a family section at this point.

Wow, this game is really fun. Clever design, and I loved the secret box visuals

I think one thing that felt lacking was the absence of SFX, I would've liked some nice clacky sounds as tiles landed on the board.

Good job!

Great concept and implementation!

What a charming little experience! It says a lot about human life with an unassuming simplicity that is really pleasing. A bit of SFX would go a long way to bring the materiality of the box to life. Also I'm not sure the WASD movement is necessary, having a zoom on mouse-scroll that could see all the box when expanded may be all that's needed.

Interesting game, but I too got the bug where after a few deaths I couldn't put a heart in the family section to get started there.

Found via Rescue Filter Cool concept. Family drawer sometimes is not responding tho. Idea is interesting, and graphics are really good.

That was great! Took me a while to notice the side doors... I played about 5 generations before getting lucky and managing to get a single legacy token that didn't take hexagons (where are hexagons from, I wondered?!), and then found absolutely nothing I could do with legacy tokens for the next few generations and finally found the side doors ^_^. I then went on to be emperor. I love the aesthetic of playing with this box and moving currency around.
