Oh, I will fix this now. Thank you!
will standby for new link ^.^
there you go guys:
https://theitcrow.itch.io/blood-coins
Thanks for the information again!
Yeah, it says the zip is too large on dropbox :P I'll check it out again later
Capture.PNG @ https://theitcrow.itch.io/blood-coins Look forward to seeing the game :~)
I have fixed it now. Should be available for everyone now. First time ever hosting a game. What a mess...
ZipFileTooLarge.png
I cant download it.
I will play it if you reply after fixing this.
@BadRAM @joe-the-really-old
Just found out about the "@" mechanic. So in case you guys havent tried the game yet, everything works now hopefully :)
My prayer is for... skippable cutscenes.
Nice artwork and flying feels awesome :grin:. I recommend adding keybindings and a screenshot to the description!
Just added all those things, thanks :)
I really like the art ! keep it up
I liked the mood of the game, but had some problems with the controls. Maybe if the character was oriented toward the mouse cursor it would be easier, since you attack with the mouse, we tend to "aim" with the cursor :smile: Nice work !
Yes, we figured this would come up eventually :) Should have thought about it earlier! Thank you
Great artwork honestly, we feel the light and dark in all your art! Gratz on this submission
Yes, @marius-boenisch did an excellent job! Thank you :)
Couldn't really play the game. I think some bug appeared that didn't let me interact with altair
@lamossus
The first altar? Did you try to restart it? What OS are you using?
Edit: Nvm. I see it, After respawning, the first altar is broken. What a bummer. If you desire to play it again, you have to restart the game, which is technically nothing different, then reaspwning, but never the less annoying. I´m sorry for the bug.
It's really cool that you managed to do all that animated 2D art. I draw a lot myself, so I know how long it usually takes to do 2D stuff.
From what I've seen of the narrative, with the god thing using you to collect life force, that seems cool too.
My biggest complaint though is how hard the game is to control. You fly upwards way too fast when you fly, and the attack range is short, so it's really hard to hit enemies. It makes it extremely difficult to play.
If you were to release a post-jam version with fine-tuned controls, I would be excited to finish the game to get the endings. Because I do want to see what happens, but the controls are preventing me :3
@kungkras
The trick is to not keep pressing the space bar, instead, see every "spacebar-press" as a beat of wings, that is giving you an upwards force. Maybe then, you can go through the game! We even got positive response about the flying. But never the less, I can see your point. Thanks for checking it out :)
I had some problems to replay the game after I died, because I could interact with the altar. It made so much fun so I wanted to play it much more, but the it takes so long to reload and go through the intro every time. So it would be great to be able to skip the texts. I died really often because I my character was the other way around than the enemy; it was really rocky to control at first but you could get used to it. All in all: I am facinated by the idea, love the artwork you put in and see really potencial in it.
@rhiannon
Yes, I knew that the reloading and cutscenes would be a thing, but we had no time left and were totally finished the moment we submitted.
Your character being the wrong direction is a bug, that should have not occured and I never experienced. Sadly, otherwise I could have fixed it.
But, it´s Ludum Dare. Wouldnt be fun without bugs right? :)
Thanks for the feedback and I´m glad that you enjoyed it...well at least overall.
Game was very fun.
Maby make it a wed gl easyer acsess for some
@themagesmango
Glad you enjoyed it! :)
"Maby make it a wed gl easyer acsess for some" I didnt quite unterstand that part, sorry.
i love the graphic and Character design. It would be great to skip the text, i tryed to skip the text, but then i cant interact with the altar :laughing: the flying is nice. :hearts: :dragon_face:
@mrstari
Yes, the unskippable texts and cutscenes are indeed a problem many have already mentioned. That was due to lack of time...and tbh motivation at the end :D glad u enjoyed it :)
I really like the art and music. It's amazing that none of them were premade, even if you consider the lack of animation. Personally, I did not like the flight controls. The jump is too fast to control. For a flying game, the jump should be a bit more floaty. I also think that the sprites should be smaller. I think that is one of the biggest reason why the controls feel unsatisfying.
I also like that you've added branching paths and even a human only path.
Overall, I really like it and you should work further to improve it.
@fahim-faysal
Yes the flying and the controls are wacky. I want to release a 1.1 Version, where I fix a few bugs - which includes the flying and some other stuff, casue that was not meant to be this way.
The branching paths are also a big reason for the unpolished state the game is in, which, again, includes the combat/flying mechanics. But we wanted that option.
Thanks for checking it out and I am glad u overall enjoyed it :)
Really nice graphics in this game. I found the wings to bee too sensitive that I actually thought I broke the game. Unfortunately I couldn't tell if I was dealing any damage to the enemies and I felt that the aerial combat was a little difficult with the control scheme.
@littlew00d
Yes I will release a 1.1 version of the game where I fixed some bugs, including the flying, cause that was indeed not wanted. I will inform you, when the release is done, if u want to check it out again then :)
Good news everyone! We took your critisism seriously and as a result, released Blood Coins V 1.1!
Special thanks to @littlew00d @fahim-faysal @rhiannon @kungkras @roilbauk and @lamossus for pointing out crucial bugs :)
The graphics are good !
@pixscope thank you, glad you enjoyed them :)
This game is a opposite of programmer art. The art and music is great, but gameplay is bit clunky.
After 5th try I only PRAY to skipping intro :)

@mrjoshuamclean Oh god i cant even watch :D But I think I have fixed many of the bugs you have pointed out, so thank you for testing it :) If you'd like to, you can test it again
@jestemstefan thnaks for the feedback :) did you play the V 1.1 version?
Wow, this was great! First off, super solid artwork - big props on that! I think the gameplay worked well, good balance between story and gameplay. I feel a way to see how much health the enemies have (maybe a health bar) would be nice.
Found a bug: if you exit the dark realm and an enemy follow you into the light realm, you still enter a cutscene/story sequence.
Overall, one of my favourite 2D entries so far! Nice work!
Cool game, really innovative and nice graphics! Would like a "speed up" or skip option for the dialogs, the longer ones were quite tedious to wait for. Anyways, great job!
