This game is really amazing. Very polished, actual story, smart mechanics. When it said "don't get your coins stolen" I was like, "can't be so hard to avoid some enemies" and what can I say, the first monster took me by surprise and stole a coin from me... Well at least the animation for them running away with a coin is adorable. It just seemed strange, that monsters wouldn't go after dropped coins (but maybe that would be too cruel to the player). I love/hate how corpses can be destroyed if you leave them around, but they slow you down if you pick them up. (I once picked up a dissolving corpse, but could luckily sell it just fine.) Circle strafing seemed to be very effective. The biggest gripe I have is that those pillars blend in with the background, and I keep running into them.

Just a shame I always encountered the same bug, that suddenly no more monsters would spawn. However the game over is really well done, as is the rest of the game.

Cool game! Love the visuals and mood as a 'underworld beast butcher'. Darting around the (small) underrealm was pretty fun. The beasts stealing coins is pretty sneaky. Would have loved some projectile impact feedback, was hard to notice if I hit or miss sometimes. After butchering on monster, I went back, and everything was empty :( no more beasties.

Pretty neat concept though, fun stuff!

@klianc09 haha, thanks for your review! i myself would say that the game is rather unpolished due to small bugs left around everywhere, but maybe i'm just noticing those because i'm a dev. other than that i agree with basically everything you said, and we'll probably eventually make a version patching all those things up once we get the time to!

Interesting game! The art and the core gameplay (twin stick shooter) hooked me instantly. The music support was also well made. I didn't encounter any bugs and everything ran very smoothly.

The core gameplay loop got repeteteive after a short while though. The shooting and killing of the grey swine enemeies didn't really feel satisfying or rewarding. The shooting and killing could use some impact, some meat. Even though the mechanics themselves worked perfectly fine, the fun behind it was lacking.

Nontheless a solid, polished looking entry! Good job!

Really liked the feel of this. I could see if being expanded on to work really well as a Rogue-lite. Good fun!

Loved the visuals, intro, audio and animations. When the monster steals a coin it looks and sounds so delightful! I found it difficult to play on such a small screen though and couldn't find any way to enlarge it. And when I got gameover the game just quit without warning which was a little jarring. Still a cool little game!

sort of zoned out in the intro cutscene, but the game itself was really fun. It was difficult trying to actually grab the MEATS rather than shoot them again.

Entire feel of the game is on point. Would love to see this game pushed forward and see tons of rogue like mechanics introduced.

Well done

I absolutely love the color palette. This looks very polished and it's fun to play! Very nice job, keep it up!

Cool idea with a nice atmosphere. Somehoe the enemies stopped spawning for me after I passed through the gate for the third time, so I got stuck. It get's difficult pretty quickly, and the slower movement from picking up meats is a good risk/reward factor. Nice entry!

Cool, cool, cool! I like the mechanics: getting slower the more you carry, being careful not to shoot corpses. Also enjoyed the art style quite a bit, and the contrast between the cozy home and the underworld with its hard-hitting music. If I had one wish, it'd be not having to spam click to get up to the max fire rate. My poor finger! D:

Awesome game, great art and music !

Love the two-rooms two-atmospheres idea.

Overall the mechanics are well polished even if their are some bugs like the monsters spawning or the big monster's sprite that is a big red square. [edit: oh, it was intentionnal ... and fun, actually]

Anyway, great job you two.

@pl4typus heh, the monster not having a sprite was entirely due to a lack of time, but all our friends seemed to think it fit anyway so i guess it works out in the end!

pl4typus 2019-05-19 08:28

@snowdozer yeah it does

Fun game, very nice art and music. Pretty difficult, you'd get a lot of enemies on you fast, and your gun is pretty weak. The bug where the monsters don't spawn again was unfortunate, happened when I was starting to get a hang of the game. I liked the way the monsters lunged at you, a little different from the AI behavior you usually see.
