This game is awesome. It felt very polished for a game made in such a short time. I loved the clear/concise instructions, and the graphics are so cute. Clever puzzles, too.

I had the exact same idea before but then I changed it. You presented it really well. I didn't liked the continuous movement of the player. Sometimes when killing the enemies it felt like I was on the front but I wasn't and died 5 times in a row. Overall I liked it. Try mine. It also has skeletons :joy:

Great job! I would like to see a version that would allow the player to run directly into a wall to pause before deciding on the next move. If that doesn't hurt the player they can make better decisions on the next move.

Great job the game is really polished this a clever mechanic, the feeling is good

Great game! Some tips if you wanted to polish it: add a pause button and face the knights in the direction they're moving.

kciwsolb 2018-12-04 17:17

@djn I really like the facing direction idea! Thanks! And I thought about a pause option, but didn't get time. It's not set to run in the background though so if you click off to the right of the game window it will freeze until you click back on it. So, there's that at least! Thanks for playing!

Great use of theme and I love the way you revived a classic.

plugworldg 2018-12-07 02:09

The game felt awesome, but it is kinda hard to see what tile you are on with that perspective. Over all it was a great game.

This is one of the best Snake-like games I have ever played. I love the variety of stuff in the levels. Skeletons, mages, indiana jones rocks...

Pretty polished. There is room for slight improvements as the others already mentioned, but still a very good entry!

Pretty damn good reinvention of the Snake! Graphics are super nice and snake mechanics used in puzzle-dungeon game is unexpectedly original :) Great entry!

fnissalot 2018-12-13 08:31

Nice puzzle-version of snake! It took a little while to understand that the it was like snake.

egos 2018-12-13 15:59

same take a time to understant the snake mecanisme Its a really good idea and this fit the theme

but its a bt frustrating to dont have the "tempo" of each move maybe make the move more continuous

Good entry

aymeric-le-moal 2018-12-13 17:46

Great job buddy, your game fits perfectly the theme. Although it could be kinda frustrating when you missplay at the end of a stage because you'd have to do it all over again. Overall it is a great game, the audio was simple but effective.

suchista 2018-12-13 18:38

I love the idea! Sometimes the perspective was confusing and I was walking into the wall because I thought I was one tile above. The art is great. Good job!

cigsandflowers 2018-12-13 18:54

The idea is reaally awesome! I found it to be quite hard tho but overall a great game! :)

zener 2018-12-13 19:59

Very clever game, also very punishing :) Well done!

goudagames 2018-12-13 22:18

Snake, but a dungeon crawler. I very much enjoyed it and I think it's pretty innovative idea to combine Snake with dungeon crawling in this way. Pretty hard. Great work!

zariel 2018-12-14 01:14

Cool, I think it's a well-crafted maze puzzle

blodyavenger 2018-12-14 12:45

Like others pointed out...SNAKE! I really like how you mixed snake gameplay style with dungeons and maze puzzles! Nice execution!

henry-denny 2018-12-15 17:58

Really great game!! It definitely related to the theme and I love the crossover with snake. I would suggest adding smoother transitions between tiles because it felt a bit jittery after a while. I also think that it was a bit harsh that making one mistake (colliding with the wall) lead to your inevitable defeat (adding a few extra knights would probably make it slightly more fair). Aside from those points I really enjoyed it and I recommend you build on it!

kaeveris 2018-12-15 18:17

It's a really cool idea! I like the graphics a lot and the mood was great! It would be nice if the character could stop walking because I did run into walls a lot and died stupidly :P

spidamoo 2018-12-16 14:30

This is a very nice refreshing take on the good old Snake concept :)

huf0001 2018-12-18 03:40

Cool spin on both snake and the theme. Maybe making the movement a smidge slower might be a good idea. That or more levels to ease the player in, but given the time constraints the lack of that is understandable. Could have done with background music, but can't fault the audio and visuals that were present.

local-minimum 2018-12-21 16:23

Cool puzzle. I got a some levels in. My greatest enemy was the sound. It made such a clear beat that I wanted to wait until the sound to press the buttons for changing how to walk rather than before the sound. And when it didn't make the beat when absorbing a companion... It might have been fun to experiment with giving the player more room to move about. Not have everything be that deadly and for the first levels allow multiple solutions on how to reach the goal. Well executed game though!

rosypenguin 2018-12-31 17:37

Great idea using the snake mechanic to create a puzzle game that fit the sacrifice theme. The puzzles were fun to solve, but were frustrating when one little timing mistake like running into a wall too early would cause you to have to start the level over. It feels like bringing the chalice back to the entrance is a bit overkill, as the puzzle is already solved and the only thing left is to navigate back through the castle that you've already navigated before, only with extra risk of hitting the walls. I think the game can benefit a lot from having music that went with the beat of the knight's movement to help with the timing better. Overall good work!
