This games audio is amazing i love it and i also like the graphics and the way the environment fades out when you get too close makes the game feel more professional! Well done!
I liked the art a lot! The environment collision was a little frustrating to move around though.
The art is really nice and having crafting in a LD is a nice touch.
So the music is pretty decent, and I like the story. The environment collisions didn't seem to make sense. What looked like a walk-able path wasn't much of the time.
I liked where you went with the room-based transitions similar to OG Zelda, but enemies encountered in one room was still able to attack me in the previous one. At one point I wasn't able to advance into the next room because all the enemies in it were packed in the entrance, and although they could damage me, I couldn't damage them.
The potion mixing is a pretty great idea, and it was executed well. The artwork was good too.
How much LD experience do you guys have?
I enjoyed the potion mixing, made me think of the witcher :) though there didn't seem to be any enemies that required different elemental damage to kill so I just kept crafting fire attack :)
Oh and I loved the boss music, made the fight feel super intense! Great work!
Cool idea! I included it in my compilation video series of games from the Ludum Dare, if you’d like to take a look :) https://youtu.be/8e_nn2L0xnc
This game is beautiful! Even the little tutorial animations are really charming. The level of visual polish really sets this apart.
Two minor gameplay things: - Mentioned in another comment, but I noticed that enemies would pile up near room entrances sometimes, making those entrances unfeasible to enter. In a way this is actually kind of neat, since it means I have to find some other way into the room (or just go somewhere else). - A nice quality of life improvement would be to have some way to view what a potion does after I've made it. Being able to mouse over the item in my inventory to get that description would be pretty handy.
This is a very ambitious game for a jam- congrats on getting it finished! Like others here, I was a bit frustrated when I would be attacked while trying to exit an area, or immediately upon entering a new area before I had the chance to react. I also noticed a few bugs- for instance, I sometimes took damage or was even set on fire when running into an obstacle that was not an enemy, while no enemies were onscreen. However, this is a good take on the "sacrifice" theme, and I am impressed that you managed to make a game with this much detail in so little time. Good work!
The game looks stunning, particularly the player! Interesting mechanics and game-play also. It felt very close to a fully fledged game.
honestly great game here, i can tell u put effort in this :D would love for u to rate mine too <3
This game looks really nice. I especially like the design of the trees. As others have already said, entering some rooms is a bit stressful sometimes.
I like the idea of the crafting system. Maybe you can build in a few places where you can only get ahead if you use certain items. Otherwise, I think you'll get relatively far without crafting.
Very nice game!
This is pretty good, dunno why it hasn't received more ratings yet. The graphics are well-done, and I really enjoyed the music. I like the crafting system as well, but I found it was a pain to use it during battle, because the enemies keep attacking you and when they hit you, the menu closes. It kinda works, though, because then you have to balance between fighting the boss with lots of spells and low HP, or fighting the boss with full HP but hardly any spells.
Another thing I noticed was that, if you move from one screen to another while fighting an enemy, it messes up their AI and they end up jittering back and forth on the boundary between screens. Either enemies should be able to pursue you across screen boundaries, or they should retreat when you move to a different screen, so you're not immediately surrounded the moment you return to the screen.
Overall, a very nice game! I'd like to see an expanded version of this!
I really like the artstyle, it's very pretty! The sound is really good and I like tutorial :)
Really nice art! I like the potion mixing system as well, quite a lot of different potions you can make. I ran into an issue where I couldn't really get into a room because an enemy would instantly throw me back, but I did enjoy the room-based system and how the camera animated between the rooms. Nice game!
