Very challenging and unique platforming game! Love the broom mechanic and especially the dark lighting, sets the mood perfectly. Checkpoints for each room would be helpful, as it was quite deterring to have to go from the start each time you die. I also love how when you start riding the broom, the animation is quite long, so you have to think about when to use it as you might at risk of being caught by the corruption. Excellent artwork, too. Brilliant job!

I very much enjoyed the artwork, especially the character animations. Unfortunately, it was difficult for me to actually play the game because it was so dark. It was hard to tell what was going on on the screen, particularly when I had to deal with the enemies. I liked the sounds as well.

Artwork and the mood of this game are great! The mechanics are interesting. The dark lighting is good, but sometimes it made the game very difficult. Sometimes it was hard to tell what was happening.

Also, like @megalink said, this game could use some more checkpoints.

Anyways, it was a great game and with a little more polish it could turn out to be something even more excellent! Great job!

Im glad that people are rating and playing my game however... I have lost my faith in humanity! NOBODY HAS MENTIONED THOSE POOR CROWS THAT ARE FLYING IN THE WALL, BREAKING THEIR NECKS AND DYING!!! :tired_face:

The art is beautifully done. It bugged me having to restart from the beginning each death but meh.

This game is very hard, but it's generally the good kind of hard. The kind where you need to know the path you're going to take and the timing of when to jump or take a swing at an enemy. However, I feel like a game like this could benefit from having tighter controls. For example, I don't mind having an attack animation take some time and stop the player from running, but the time delay between the mouse click and the attack actually hitting makes the attack options unwieldy in the not-so-good sort of way.

The limited visibility lends itself well to the dark atmosphere of the game. There's just enough light that you can kind of see where you're going, but you'll still need to have a path memorized if you want to clear a level before the spreading corruption catches up to you.

Other people have mentioned checkpoints already, but yes, please add them to the game. Checkpoints in the right places are crucial for a game like this. The game demands many, many retries of each section for the player to learn the layout of the terrain and the placement of enemies, and to do that, players need to be able to quickly get back to the area they're trying to beat.

Lastly, when I'm getting off the broom, it sometimes gets stuck at some point in the animation and it completely prevents me from jumping. Lost many times from this, sadly.

But overall, I think this has the potential to be a most excellent game, and I would love to see a more developed version of this, if and/or when that happens.

Supercute and smooth gameplay. Didn’t really understand exactly where I was going, and the darkness didn’t help, but I still really enoyed it. I do, however, need to replay it, as I missed the entire fighting system.

The lack off checkpoints is kind of frustrating. I also found switching from Fly mode to be finicky where it either didn't take or took so long I died.

Thanks for the feedback everyone. School too in the way (and I can’t add any more gameplay features) so no checkpoints for now I’m afraid. For @aaranos I intentionally made it a bit finicky so people would think when they could use it with the corruption and monsters around them to deter this as I didn’t want people to fly too much and spam it to speed through levels! @cbdevilla @kimonoh thank you so much for playing my game and giving feedback it means a lot!

Lovely graphics and music for your game, one of my favourites so far! The levels have a smooth transition as well. There might be a bug where I cant jump at some point after dismounting the broom! I think this game has a lot of potential. Great job! :)

@mikixen thanks a lot for the feedback! I can’t seem to find the reason for this problem, I’ve gotten it aswell! I think it’s related to moving left and right while falling though I don’t want to remove being able to! Thanks anyway for the feedback! I plan to extend on this project a lot more!

Cool game, nice art although I do wish it was a bit brighter in places so I could properly appreciate it (could just be my screen settings though?). I felt like the ranged attack was too difficult to bother using as you're forced to move quickly to the right of the screen beyond the cursor making it feel a bit uncoordinated or disjointed. Great job otherwise!

Great mood, nice cute pixelart! It's pretty hard, but the gameplay is good and consistent. A bit dark for me, a larger, lighter view would help. It's hard enough without darkening :smirk:

Everyone ive found the problem for becoming glitched for going off the broom, its if you get off your broom and land on a corner you get glitched. So everyone avoid getting off the broom onto a corner tile!

Love the graphics and lighting. There is an annoying bug though that when you get off the broom your stuck in a falling state so I was unable to pass the third area, but all the other player controls are pretty smooth. In combat I found the ranged move pretty useless as your character stands still for way too long while doing it (It still looks really cool and I love how it shoots from the book, very creative). Sprites are on point especially the attack animations. It was a bit sudden that there is no title screen or introduction at all. Overall, Solid game.

@shinysteel thanks for playing. I explained the cause of the bug in the comment directly above, im pretty unsure on why its happening. The ranged move, yes is pretty useless, however, as I update the game, im adding upgrades to your abilities (that can be found) which will most definitely make it stronger. And yes, there is no title screen or introduction, mainly because I ran out of time towards the end and was more focused on fixing bugs and gameplay issues. Well anyway, thanks alot for playing and rating the game!
