I love how the game looks, but I ask you to please use a different hosting service like itch.io. Whether or not the game actually contains a virus, my computer believes there is a virus in the code because of the way it is made and/or hosted.
If you can fix it, I will try again. Thanks!
Is a lot of fun. I had some trouble with the mouse pointer for a bit though. Had to go window mode for it to show up, game was just throwing me into the sea at the start :p.
By far the most thrilling game I've played in the compo! Once you get past the initial confusion it's just pure fun. The rough graphical style fits well with the gameplay,
Great graphics, looks great for a Ludum Dare game. Controls are really hard to get used to, but it's a very neat game nonetheless.
good combination of genres, some difficult with control for such dynamics)
Holy smokes I think this is one of the most fun games I've played so far. It kinda reminds me of Luftrausers, but is unique in its own way. Even without the grapple hook, I like the idea of moving to the clouds to recover fuel. And once I got the the grapple hook, it was so cool. Having the game move in slow motion when trying to grapple was a good idea, as it would have been too hard otherwise. The ejecting mechanic also adds a convenient second chance without making the game too easy.
As for feedback, the first time I died, I instinctively clicked on the "RESTART" text and immediately dove into the ocean and died again. Also, there was almost no reason for me to ever stop firing when in the plane. The only time I stopped firing was to capture the required plane in mission 2, which was a cool idea.
I also like that crashing into the ship counts as a "landing," got a laugh out of that one.
Great fun! Great mechanics and music! I would like to see a post-jam version  Take a look on my game: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/vector-rabbits-slayer
This is so badass! I think you should continue working on this game~! As @thiagowaw said i'd also love to see a post jam version!
I'm incredibly bad at this game but damn if it's not incredibly fun at the same time. Took me some time to get used to the grapple in mission 2 but it really adds a lot to the gameplay. Made it a lot better once I realised I can hold space without any repercussions, so it's best to take your time with it.
I'm not sure if I'm missing something but after quitting the game and starting it again the first mission is forced on the player. Even though there's a menu, clicking anywhere will start the first mission again. Super small thing but makes starting the game again kind of awkward if you want to just play either of the other two missions. (Either that or I'm doing something wrong)
All in all though, super fun game to play. One of the few difficult games which isn't irritating when I make mistakes. Great work!
I managed to beat mission one without knowing how to refuel. I actually think the cloud refueling needs to be seriously tweaked. I did not manage to work out any kind of behaviour which could help me out. There is no direction I can go in if I just cant see any clouds, because they might just not be there. I find the game barely playable as a result. And I would love to play it more, the plane switching mechanic seems very appealing.
Interesting, but a looot of confusion here, especially on start : i crashed 4 time in a row before to get how to launch.
Holy shit this game is awesome! granted it could use some polish/tweaking and more instruction on the controls and mechanics, but I want more! some very innovative ideas here, its kinda like a 2D justcause/flight sim. a freeplay arcade mode would be neat. check out my game if/when you have the time https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/photonic
I played it twice! seriously I want an update for this @lancescaterpie !
I ended up playing around 40 games, and I came back just to say this one is still my favorite. You got some pretty high ratings, congratulations!
