@Elbcore Yep... the same happened to me :(
You have to download Bracket here: http://brackets.io/ Unzip the download and drag and drop the main.html file into the main window of bracket. Once you are done, there is a lightning on the top corner of the application. Click on it to launch the game.
Can you tell us were it didn't work for you pls?
@Elbcore @duuuuude did you try to start the game by bracket? else Download BRACKETS : http://brackets.io Open main.html with brackets Click on the lightning on the top-right corner. i hope it will work
*cross the finger* :)
I didn't have a problem getting it open and running, but it was super laggy. I couldn't really play it.
Couldn't make it work, sorry :( Add some screenshots so we can judge that too!
Could you add a description of how to play this? It runs fine on itch.io in Opera, but I don't get the goal or how to play... touching people kills you and maybe touching airconditioning changes your cloud graphic, but what's with the gas bottles? Can't seem to pick them up.
Would love to understand this better. Music is nice & motivates.
Please rate ours as well: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/flong
Hey man. You don't really have to use brackets in order to play the game. I recommend you checkout webpack dev server. Brackets just spins up a webserver where you can checkout your game. Game also felt a little laggy and I liked the platform aspect of it.
I’d love for you to review my submission as well.
Okay the game works now. I am not totally sure I do understand the game, and the controls are not always working super great. But I liked the graphics, and the music gives the game a great atmosphere.
So I made your game worked. I could see the graphics and play as a little gaz smoke (right?) I needed to actually gather gaz bottles in order to advance right? There is a little bug however that didn't allow me to continue, is that after hitting the firt gaz bottle, when I moved left or right it was laggy. Maybe you should correct that? The animation and drawings were nice though :) well done !
Cool game, controls are hard at first. The music fits the mood and the gameplay. I couldn't figure out what were the two incompatible genres though.
never seen a chrome tab use 90% of my i7 before xD lmao
well... as for some others, the game was lagging so bad for me I couldn't actually play it so I decided against rating something I couldn't properly check out... sorry I did get to see some really nice looking art though, that's all I got to really see.
Anyways, seeing as it's ur first entry, dont' get discouraged, trust me, my first entry was so bad most people couldn't play it properly either.... But use it to learn
1- make sure your game is easily played without any extra downloads and is playable within a few clicks or downloads. In browser web stuff is nice but if it's laggy, rather have a zip download with a .exe game file :P
2- make sure to have a description of how to launch the game properly if it's somethign tricky xD
3- try to avoid any extra downloads and installations, people here are busy, school, university, working people. So getting time to play 20+ games isn't always easy, and having to go through extra downloads and installations isn't ideal. So try to stick to quick downloads of zip of game files and .exe of the game. Don't go for game installers etc etc
4- as I said, don't let this discourage you. I'm sorry I couldn't play your game properly. If you make a download of the game files and a game .exe to play, i'll gladly come back and check it out.
Okay! I liked the aesthetics, the diorama art style reminded me of Gunpoint _(or Skool Daze, if I really want to show my age)_. However, the presentation itself was somewhat misleading at some points. Especially the people on stretchers seem to meld into background at upper levels, slightly different colour scheme could have helped there. Other thing that threw me off was that if you hit moving enemies they just kind of teleport you to another location? Can't tell you how many times that ended my run. Generally giving a few invisibility frames after getting hit would have encouraged a faster pace and also made the game feel a bit more forgiving.
Also also would have loved some checkpoints every other floor or so. I saw that lucky seventh a few times, but there is no way I'm going to beat that level if I have to run through the rest of the game to get there every time I die.
Music track is well chosen and nice. I would have appreciated some audio clues on ingame actions (especially on hits, maybe gas bottle pickups and jumps). Overall, I rate this game cool and good.
There seemed to be a huge lag when the level is sidescrolling, and that made it hard to play. It workes fine when there is no scrolling but this made me give up pretty early, so I really did not get to check out the depth of the game. Good luck in getting +20 ratings though!
the graphics are nice, but the game has a serious lag (eating both processor and graphics card while the game runs very slowly) this makes the game hard to play (I noticed that the lag disappears when I stop moving, so it could either be your camera codes or something in your cloud animation code (alternatively, you could also try putting the floors in different rooms or scenes to reduce lag)
I really liked the bodies in the top floor, although i can't understand why would a hospital hang up people XD
The music is nice, but you forgot to make it loop, so you should remember to make loop = true, or whatever is the equivalent in your coding language or program
You should add more description about your game and how to play it and how it relates to the game theme. Also, not everyone can speak French ^_^" so maybe you could add a translation to your itch.io description
Also, you should rate other people games, because this helps you get more views (and thus more ratings) in your game ^_^
All in all, really nice idea and graphics, but the execution requires a lot of improvements But, good job and hopefully you can avoid these problems in your next game :)
Hello everyone ! First I want to thank all of you for your feedbacks ! We are really happy that some of you like our game and we're really sorry for all the lags that you could have.. We took note of everything you said and will try to apply your advices for the next game ! Just some point that we need to tell you :
1) For the lags we think that it's because the code was to heavy for the only things that are inside it.. When we were programming we meet many problems of language and our knowlegde was too small to succeed at resolve it, sooooo... We made it in a different way, which is not maximise at all LMAO ! (The game is working good on only 2 computer for the moment.. The lags are on every others.. You are not alone)
2) On itchio.io, we write the description in English but the website translate it automatically.. Sorry for it ! We understand the difficulty to understand the goal of the game then..
3) For the music we didn't succeed to make the loop because of the restart when you lose. The music start twice and then one again and again.. So we abandon the idea of the loop..
4) We are sooo happy that you like the graphisms ! Thank you !
5) And then for the two incompatible genres we mix the "Die and Retry" with an system of "life's management", which is normally impossible in a Die&Retry game !
I hope I answer at everyone ! Thank you all again ! :D

You could use some images in the game page. The game is fun although getting it to work was a little annoying.
What a pity that the performance is so bad, a fixed camera would possibly help, the music I like very much and helps a lot to the mood.
Congrats to your entry.
If you have still some time, I would love it if you could test our game. https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/astropover
Sorry I can only rate the graphics and audio of the beginning, which I thought were promising, and I really wanted to play more. However, the game just lags too badly for me :(
It's buggy on firefox, but i could play it on chrome.
Nice job. It works. I died a lot until I decided to abuse the game and stick to the ceiling all the time. Seemed like a game breaker and still I managed to die at the beginning of the last floor. (I suppose)
Btw my game needs 4 votes too. Here : https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/asimovs-breakout
No perforamnce issue for me(html). Interesting game!
