My tongue goes guero guero.
I really like this game but I can't seem to get out of the first area
Swinging around is a lot of fun. It's like a spiderman burglary simulator. The music is perfect for setting a burglary scene. My only complaint is that I don't really see how this fits the theme. Good game though. Great job.
The idea is great , but it's really hard to handle , espacialy the grab .
I agree that the first area is very difficult. I found it difficult to traverse up the level because of how elastic the ropes are. I also had an issue where a and d didn't seem to work anymore. I loved the graphics and the audio!
The tongue-hook mechanic is really fun! It's good and kinetic, which makes the "more you have" element stand out, too. It'd be nice if you could drop ladders to some places though; I ended up getting stuck a few times, and it seemed like moving the mouse after throwing your hook kinda broke the game?
The hook mechanics were very fun to control! I liked the graphics and music as well.
@flankstaek @aidanmarkham Yeah, when I was making the game I was not sure if it was maybe too difficult, but with such weird controls I was not sure of how it was going to end. Thank you for the feedback!
I really enjoyed playing this game. And was not expecting this mega bat near the bottom. Managed to get all the treasures back but noticed a few things on the way: 1. The left and right movement keys stop working if your tongue crosses a wall, I managed to get stuck in a corner and couldn't get out. 2. Towards the end of the game, while holding the large diamond I was hit by the mega bat down onto the spikes and rather than dying, I gained all my hearts back.
Overall a short but enjiyable challenge. Well Done
@belowparallel-ian I tried to make it so when you pick a lot of treasures the controls get harder. But since you don't have to pull them at once it looks like it doesnt fits the theme hahah. Thank you for the feedback!
This was really enjoyable. A good mix of really fun and really frustrating (them damn bats). The hook mechanic was really fun to use. I also really liked the graphics, though I'm a sucker for the pixel look.
Only noticed two things that may be bugs.
1. When going for the second treasure, I decided to grab it and another to see what it was like with multiple. I ended up dying on the spikes at the bottom, leaving both treasures there. At that point, the compass was always pointing in an upward direction, even from the top/starting point on the scren.
2. When I brought the final treasure up, I had hooked right at the top of the screen, above the little guy you bring the treasures to. His dialog started for beating the game, but the player character continued to move up like he was still hooked to the wall, with the camera zooming on him. Made it hard to see the final dialog.
Nice game!
Very nice game! I included it in my Ludum Dare 40 compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look. :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u0hdEq4T8dE
Controls are super fun! Really enjoy that method of getting around. It's particularly clever that the treasure essentially serves as an extra health buffer, Sonic style.
Also, the music is really jazzy?? It's super cool!
Wow, you made a game! I really like the graphics and music, the navigation is the best, this is the stuff I can play for a long time. Good job!
I got the first treasure but then the compass went wacky - It pointed back towards the quest-giver guy, and when I went to him it pointed out. So I couldn't find the next treasure.
The music is okay and the swinging is fun but I didn't get into the game.
