Thanks! First time doing 3d characters! :D
I just want to point out your link is to the game, but you have it tagged as "Source Code". Also, do you think you can put up some Mac or Linux builds? Or even an HTML5 build if possible (I've seen a few of those). Some people don't have Windows. :)
Really good for your first 3D-Game. I like the idea. Hopefully you keep trying in the next jams ;)
3D characters in a game jam? That takes a pro! I wish I had put a screengrab feature in my own game, it would have made my life easier.
I was rescued but then I was greedy and went back for other selfies... and my guy couldn't deal with having a dead phone :P
Cool game. I like the weapon vs. battery idea, and I had fun playing. I just wish there were more! Great work.
Fun little game. I liked the idea of having to take a selfie to keep your power up, also the idea of killing enemies with a twig was fun. I do have some complaints with the combat though. It felt really hard to actually hit enemies when playing the game. In most cases, I had to attack and spin around a bunch to kill an enemy. Also, I didn't see a way to replenish power, so at some point, taking a selfie was actually incredibly harmful, though I may have just missed something. Was overall a fun game though! Keep on making this!
Thank you everyone for all of the feedback! :D
@cornelia-xaos I will try to put up a HTML5 version. Not sure how it will turn out though lol
Nice one, funny idea had a wee chuckle :) Great job with getting the character created and animated! nicely put together game there. well done.
Impressive for your first 3D game! Well done, I like the graphics btw :) But, as someone said, it's a bit frustrating when you attack: it feels like the hit is given all around the character, but not in front of him x)
Also, I don't really get the objective... Taking a selfie cost battery, but improve your weapon... But ennemy die in only one hit even with the first weapon (or I'm dumb probably...)
Anyway, that's just small things ;) Good jobs mates!
Not very challenging game, I just strolled by every enemy and went for the rescue point. Only bothered to take one selfie. Like the graphics though
This definitely has its flaws. That said, it is very good for a first 3D game. The models looked really nice and the animations and sound was very good. Definitely too easy, but I liked the upgrading weapons.
Congrats on finishing you're first 3D Game, things to improve on: graphics served its purpose, but I would love to see something like animated grass maybe some more tree types and maybe a couple of textures or two. I believe a start screen would be very beneficial, and most importantly having a press Esc to quit the game option throughout the entire game. Some more advanced animations would be helpful as well, but they served their purpose as well. Some upgraded UI would be very nice to see as well. I don't know the size of the game but if its less than 900mb you should really consider publishing as a HTML5 game and posting on Itch's HTML section. Again Congrats on the LD can't wait to see what you come up with next year!
Hey, good job on your first 3d game :)
The visuals are simple in terms of poly count etc, but are still nice and charming because it's well lit, with appealing colours and consistency.
For me the biggest opportunity to improve here is focusing on the game / level design in terms of how the gameplay choices could be made more challenging and interesting.
Regardless, it's good to hear you learned a lot - that's what the first go at anything is all about. Good stuff :)
Good result for first try. I wish to say more, but I need to take one more selfie.
