That's hell, we can swear down there haha, Thanks for the review ! :)
Decent game, Couldn't get to the end though. I went right and needed all 4 bones to jump over the pit, and then didn't have enough to finish the level. Had fun though, good job!
Haha, you just needed to come back pick two of them to finish the last level before boss and ending scene ^^ Thanks for playing and reviewing !
**Overall game impression:** Pretty good humor and terrible puns which made me giggle. I approve. The game play is very nice and smooth, really well done and pretty fun to play. I really enjoyed it. Glorious ending! I really liked everything about this game, great art, sound effects, gameplay, characters and even a story. Though this would fit a theme "running out of bones" more...hah.... okay I'm just gonna leave, my jokes are terrible **Suggestions and comments on improvement:** I think having jump on Space as well would make it a little easier to play (for me at least). And also having a button or a key to press to show previous message / hint would be nice (for example I accidentally on first level skipped through the part about Gargoyles so I had to restart over since I couldn't pull up any hint or anything so didn't know what to do xD). And lastly, the imp blends with background too much, making him like maroon or some other color to make him standout a little would help. I didn't notice the imp right away.
also, is it just me or does the skeleton look like papyrus from the undertale? :O a reference?
p.s. check out my game as well please.
Great game, got to level 3 in 20 minutes. The humor in the dialogues is great and I love the puzzles. Sure, I needed to restart the levels a lot as my bones flew away (twice they completely disappered?) but I had fun nontheless. The graphics and the physics could be improved but the great soundtrack contributes much to the atmosphere.
I would need a whale skeleton to beat this game, haha. I love the idea!
@vkmicro Thanks for the very constructive comment ! The space mapping has been told before I uploaded but it got out of my mind so many times, sorry if you had some issues playing my game ^^ Oh and you are the first to beat the game, huge congratulations to you !
@gagapete Haha, I can't be more happy that you spent so much time on this. Regarding the disappaering bones, I can't tell you, that's strange. Didn't you just pick them up, back on you with 'E' ? Thanks for the comment, and I can't agree more regarding graphics and physics haha
@exr I laughted way too hard on this joke haha, Thanks for playing and commenting !
Good game, i like the two path choice, i'm terrible at jumping so the snipe path was fine ^^
Great game, I love the premise. It's weird to think of your bones as an exhaustible resource but it totally works here.
** First Impression **: What is happening here, on the first try i initially shoot all my bones away :D
** Overall **: I am really impressed by how many mechanics you managed to get into your game :) I especially like your gritty humor and that you incoporated a tutorial to teach me the initial ropes of the game :)
** Sound **: Really fitting for the theme
** Graphics **: A fitting style/theme :) (but in full screen they could have been a bit more crisp :D)
** Gameplay **: Really nice concept of throwing your bones away to finish the level (i threw one really far away tho :D), i like the integration of the theme into your gameplay, which makes yourself a limited power resource :D (and after reading the comments i have to try again because i didn't understand that i can pick them up again :D)
a minor thing the game crashed when i wanted to close it :D
Well balanced difficulty and great mood. The game made me laugth :-).
Here's some improvement hints. - When jumping, it's difficult (or impossible idk) to control the skeleton movements. - The "jumps of death" paths are way more easy than the "throw your bones" ones. - The graphical assets are way better than the audio ones.
Well, well, well, it seems that we have here a great game :D
Good art, music, and very funny humorous (humerus?) dialog with the characters. I liked having a different mechanic to work with in a platform game. Here's the thing, though - I generally don't like platformers where the jumps are difficult and the cost for missing them is high, and I found that here. Redoing a bunch of hard, time-consuming stuff that you've already mastered is not fun, so when I have to replay a complex level just to get back to the piece I screwed up the first time, I really lose interest. Games that have frequent save points, or a chance to rewind time, are more fun for me. I realize other people like hard platformers and cherish the need to make a perfect run, but not me. But, I enjoyed the concept, the text, the art, the music, the characters, the mechanics - just got frustrated with gameplay.
Gave up on the second level after not figuring out how to get to the end with one less bone used on the way. On the first level where you teach about the gargoyles, I went back to throw a bone to the earlier one and screen stopped scrolling after that for some reason, dunno what that was about.
Now after reading the comments I see that I could actually pick up the bones. I don't think I saw that mentioned in the dialog at all...
The throwing mechanic was kinda clunky. It took way too long to fill the bar while throwing and it was very inaccurate. You probably have puzzles further along where you need to arc the throw or somehow other control the throwing force but the whole force thing felt unnecessary and needlessly time-consuming during the first parts.
It would also be better if the dialog wouldn't require clicking on the next button instead of just clicking anywhere or pushing any key.
All in all, good job!
Controls are reaaally wonky, skeleton suddenly losing momentum when jumping made every sad :(
