This was a really fun game! The controls were very simple and intuitive! I only had two problems with the game: 1. The shortcut in the download didn't work (although I just looked in the bin), and 2. The concept of ramming ships was as intuitive as the controls. At first I thought there was no way to kill the ships, then I accidentally killed one:grinning:! But really both those problems are very minor. Great submission!

It didn't run.

@ljn i fixed the shortcut

Damn I see we both had something similar in mind. your game looks better than mine though lol. nice entry!

Nice game, fun and quick to get the mechanics. There was only one thing I didn't like about the controls: I thought the left click was to handle the spaceship direction and "W" to accelerate, but the spaceship stops once it reaches the mouse arrow even if you are pressing "W", I found that a bit annoying, maybe just using the left click without the W? Other than that great entry! Congratulations!

Slick entry - very mechanically sound once you get a second or two with the controls. That, and a decent space-shooter always earns extra points in my book :)

Nice work!

Nice game, but why it game files too bigg for this graphics level(80Mb).

gamewolves 2017-08-01 15:10

@bogreen i don't know why it's so big maybe because of LibGDX

Pretty fun for a while once you figure out the mouse button needs to be held down to rotate. The shape of the player ship design could have been thought out better. Kinda reminds me of Dr. Evils Spaceship in Austin Powers... that aside all the other graphics were good. The power ups were placed behind the HUD sometimes, no biggie. the power up look a little bit like the stars and that actually added to the challenge. It reminded me a little of a peripheral vision test at the eye doctors. Nice job with the shooting. Would like to see explosions. Made it too level 7.

Pretty fun game. At first the controls seemed a bit weird but I quickly got used to it.

Still, here's how I would do the controls: * You always face the mouse cursor, LMB to move forward, space or RMB to shoot, OR * LMB to face the cursor, RMB to move forward, space to shoot

The graphics are a bit inconsistent, the pixel sizes on each sprite seem to be different. What I mean is, for example, the title text 'POWERSHUTTLE' seems not pixelated at all, has a smooth gradient, meanwhile, all the other text is very blocky and pixelated. The background is very high-definition, but the powerup sprites are pixelated, etc.

But anyway, congrats on making a fun game :D

Nice Asteroids-esque game. The controls feel good for me, the *mouse-look-at* is interesting and easy to use (I tested it on a tablet with a pen).

The difficulty increases rather quickly - I started having issues at level 5. The main problem I had was that I was so busy avoiding bullets and shooting enemies I stopped paying attention to my energy and Energypack collection. Adding a visual/audio warning about low energy would help.

Nice choice of fitting music and simple SFX.

This was a fun little game and it's good to see something made outside of Unity/HTML in the jam! I think you have good starting place to improve upon for a future release. Maybe some player progression/other abilities you can use besides moving at one constant speed would add some depth to the gameplay.

The control scheme was a little awkward. Having to press w and down on the mouse key to move forward seemed redundant.

The graphics and music were excellent!

I liked the bullet-hell feel you start getting at max level, except that you are the boss shooting millions of bullets while rotating in the middle of the screen. Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! :D
