My original upload required you to unblock a .DLL in addition to the .exe. I hope that this was the issue and not something else. I've since merged things in so you don't need to do this anymore and updated the release. Please let me know if you continue to have issues. I'll work on a GL version as a backup.

i don't know exactly why but a liked the music a lot

the main character is very charming and i laughed a lot when i died hahaha

nice game!!

I like the graphics and music, good job.

hermetic 2016-12-14 03:31

It could use scoring, or something to motivate the character. Maybe upgrades or something? I miss having some kind of feedback that I hit or was being hit beyond watching the health bars move.

srakowski 2016-12-14 03:39

Thanks hermetic! I really wanted to add that stuff but ran out of time (as I always seem to do). I think progression is something I plan on heavily investing in next LDJAM.

Awesome! Not too easy, not too hard. I don't really want to ask how did you make that monster noises :D

michalidis 2016-12-15 01:38

A pretty challenging game ! :)

I liked the graphics, sounds and the audio of the game
It was fun to play as well.

The only thing I would suggest is to add an experience system to it or ability to pick some items BUT I understand that might not have been possible in the given time :D

Great work overall though :) Thanks for the game :)

Nice all-around entry, with cool art and slimy sound effects... you even ticked the box on having music!

Pretty tough, I only made it to level 3. If I could change one thing I would put a bit more feedback into getting hit. Sometimes I thought I was getting away with not letting them hit me, but my life bar disagreed. Since endurance seems to be the main challenge, it's really important for me to learn how to avoid getting hit.

Nice work!

Cool, thanks for the feedback pkenney and Michalidis!

afinkyu_pheaky 2016-12-16 04:19

Nice work. I've played quite a few top down arena games so far, but this is the first one using only the mouse in a diablo-esque fashion, so thats pretty cool.

splendidus 2016-12-16 08:22

That's funny. Passed Level 3, died on the fourth. It seemed to me that the combat system does not kill the enemy without loss.

srakowski 2016-12-16 23:42

Its possible Splendidus, but not obvious... a drawback to the game for sure. The hero has a larger attack range and is faster so you may swoop in, attack, and then get out before they attack you. Lots wrong with the battle mechanic, but thank you for the feedback :)

mattparks5855 2016-12-20 00:45

This game looks great! Your music and audio sound good, and your graphics are also great. Your combat system is a easy one to adapt to as well.

ian-morrison 2016-12-20 05:43

The window opened up larger than my monitor, which was a little annoying, but it was fully playable. Didn't really feel like there was a lot I could do, though; ultimately it seemed to boil down to kiting the little monsters endlessly, could really have used something to vary the action a bit.

srakowski 2016-12-20 23:45

Fully agree Ian, lol, my regrets! :) Thanks for the feedback.

philstrahl 2017-01-03 03:46

That got pretty hard pretty fast, but nice entry. Personally, the smacking sound was disgusting haha. Interesting choice on the movement, made timing much harder for slipping though between the arrows.
