I couldn't figure out how to do anything, I could walk around and tried UP and DOWNing everything I could see but I always still lost.

Loved the graphics! Didn't manage to break the trance though, where are the items for me to pick up?

lipedal 2016-12-13 11:25

Oh, mine's here: http://ludumdare.com/compo/ludum-dare-37/?action=preview&uid=29565

@p1x3lruckus & @Lipedal there is only one item - the sun picture frame for the player to pic up . Thankyou for playing .

The cute art and music is great. The pickup mechanic was a bit tricky to figure out, even when I did figure out what I was meant to pick up, the controls were pretty unresponsive. Would've been nice if a bit longer too! But for your first Jam, nice work!

Couldn't seem to get the picking up and throwing to work after I did it once it wouldn't work again.

The idea was very creative, the premise allows to go much deeper, so I would like to see what you can do when you build up on what you have.

There may be different ways of breaking the trance (like breaking line of sight or manipulating the victim instead of the vampire. Add more than one vampire/victim per level and you may have a neat time-based puzzler.

The weakest point are the controls though, so you may want to work on those first:

- You can only pick up the picture if you stand next to it (extending the hitbox would probably be easy).

- The mix of mouse and keyboard controls (game vs. menu) forces the player to switch back and forth. A game like this can perfectly do without the mouse which would keep the player in one control mode.

Don't get discouraged though, I see some promise in your game.

Great visuals! Although it was short, I still loved the experience! Congrats on your first jam!

Not too shabby! It was pretty tough to grab the painting, for some reason, but I figured it out. Not bad for a first jam, nice work!

I had hard time to grab the sun picture so I first thought it wasn't an important element of the game. But glad that ,at last, I prevented the Twilight fan girl to hug the vampire :p

Nice game, graphics and audio were good. Picking up the picture was kind of awkward, it took me a few tries before the player picked it up.

Congrats on your first jam entry! Loved the visuals, but had a hard time picking up the painting. Jumping on the vampire's head also did nothing to break the trance ;)
