Hi, nice game and congratulations ! We're realizing a video with several games of the Ludum Dare #36. We made the same thing at the previous jam.

Can you add your game on indiexpo.net ? (it's free)
So we can include also your game in the video ;)
p.s. write #LDJAM in the game's description.

A fun game, and an interesting and unique puzzle mechanic. I like the details of the aesthetic, especially the hieroglyphics and map screen.

There are a few potential additions to the game that I believe would do a lot to improve the rough areas of the gameplay. The first is an indication that a tile was fulfilled. I spend half of the time looking for the tile that was unfilled. It would make the gameplay much more fluid, and satisfying, as it would create a clear indication of how far into the puzzle you were. Another is a little bit more fanfare on completion of a puzzle. The main thrill of a puzzle game is figuring it all out, and anything that could be done to increase that satisfaction would greatly improve the game.

Other than that the music, while very good and fitting, got a little bit repetitive over time.

Again, though, the core gameplay and the graphics were excellent. A post-compo version would be great.

Excellent work.

A fun and simple idea for a puzzle game. I liked the game a lot. Well done.

Nice puzzle, enjoyed it thoroughly. The last level is far from impossible, but rather a good old challenge.

Having no conclusion is a bit of a letdown. I would have also preferred a drag and drop interface where any two tiles could be swapped, not just adjacent ones. The current interface is not bad by any means but it does take more time to move tiles from one end to the other.

Well done.

Good puzzle game. It would help a ton if the puzzle gave some kind of information to show me what's right or wrong. It could be as simple as making tiles that are in conflict flash red when I click the button. With this, there would still be plenty of puzzling over how to fix that tile conflict without making another conflict, just less searching for which tiny piece I got wrong.

Really good puzzle mechanic. I would really love to see this idea expanded out a bit more. There's definitely potential here for more mechanics and feedback you can give the player. I also liked the polish you put into this, the fades between menues and gameplay help make it feel a little nicer than a typical game jam entry.

I completed all 8 levels; it was a bit tricky, but with some base strategy (e.g. concentrating tiles of some specific colour in one place to have less blanks to fill in, pushing monochromatic tiles around corners whenever possible). Too bad there was no congratulations screen, and level 8 appears incomplete. You really didn't expect anyone to complete all of them, huh? ^^'

(in the meantime I've thought of an algorithm to randomly generate arbitrarily large levels, because why not)

Generally, the game played really nice. From things I'd like changed - an indication which tiles are in conflict and which aren't (it could be e.g. implemented by having some little orbs between tiles, and the orb would light up if the tiles matched). Also, I'd prefer if I could swap any two tiles, not just the neighbouring ones; the latter method provides no challenge, anyway, just need to do more clicking.

That aside, pretty good job, the puzzle mechanic was interesting, and the audiovisuals worked well (I like how there was a different music for level selection and level itself, too).

It's a original game. I'm too bad to resolve the puzzles but it's a nice work.

Congrats!

Very good puzzle game, I loved it :) I did level 8, it was not that hard (once you get the strategy). I did a puzzle game too and most of the time, people do not take time to solve it :( Too bad. Here are some things you could improve:
- Add a button to reset the level
- More levels (because it is funnier) :D
- A score for the resolution (the less moves you use, the better it is)
- An end message (this way I would have been have to show that I did finish the game :p )

Nice work !

Nice puzzle game. Yes, level 8 wasn't that hard.

I guess everything about this game is already said before, like an indicator whether neighouring tiles matches (I just randomly pressing the button, and every time I happen to got it right.) A better swapping mechanic, cos dragging is a lot of work, and of course, an ending after finishing 8.

You did well, though! It must be a lot of work doing all these things in 2 days!

Nice puzzle game music is a bit repetetive but works with that game. You should work a little more on interface floating play breaks immersion you can replace level dot wit something like hieroglyph with play written on it. Also some kind of indicator that puzzle are on their places or automaticly checking if level is finished would be good thing.

Nice game! It was very hard for me and couldn't get past level 1 tho :(
As they mention above, it would be nice to have a feedback pointing which tiles are causing the not-completion of the puzzle (I don't think this would give up the game as you may have to re arrange many tiles). I hope we see an augmented version of the game sometime:)
However I think you made a great job in only a weekend! Congrats :)

While playing I felt what many people are suggesting here : the game is missing an indication about tiles placed properly or wrongly. But I also deeply believe that it might totally kill the difficulty and remove the challenge. So finally, I think it's better without. Even if it takes some time to check each tile one by one, I'm fine with it.

Very solid rules for a pretty interesting puzzle game. I like the idea and the execution.
