The Windows version of the game doesn't work because you didn't include the data folder. =/

This was really fun!

I liked that gameplay you made and it was solid, no bug found at first glance (well in web browser, the mouse goes away from windows and its a little bit odd, but I could play anyway)
I was some time smashing capsules, the sound of splashing was addictive :P

It has nothing to do with theme but if this is your first Unity trial, you really made it nice. Keep working on it, it could be a nice proposal ;)

Nice fun game, that's really good for a first game. Just a little bit of music and some nice textures and your are all set ^^

Great idea! But annoying that I can press outside the screen and lose control

slapunas 2015-08-26 18:28

It's a cool idea for a game and fun to play (even if a bit chaotic at the end). You could've added some story like having a monster possess the basket (a monster basket?!) to make it suit the theme more.

Thanks for the heads up, madalaski! All fixed now.

Looks like itch.io's having trouble with their file uploads at the moment, so I put the fixed Windows version in Dropbox.

I liked this but it's a bit difficult on the web version, not to get out the screen !
Well done though ! :)

Where is the monster theme? Don't understand it :/

koneke 2015-08-26 21:37

Simple but pretty unique gameplay idea, and definitely not what I'd associate monster with, so bonus points for that :) Pretty fun (splat splat splat!), but it was very difficult to play with the lack of mouselock.

Congratulations on finishing a game, that's what Ludum Dare is all about! You've got all the pieces connected, now you "just" have to polish it up and make it more obvious what's going on: are the balls hurting the player?

I also wanted to say thanks for your comment on my game, I think you're the first person to really understand what I was going for with the theme!

First of all, congrats on fnishing your first game! I hope you'll keep making and participating on LD! :) My Unity skills are just as good as my latin knowledge (none) so, for me, a first game made in Unity is quite a feat. :)

The idea is pretty nice and being the dude who always prevents people from making points, is really a monstrous idea (I know because I've been called worse for doing it ;D).

I don't know if you played it, but this has that "fly swatter game" feeling from Mario Paint, which I think is quite nice. :D

It would be a good thing to work on this game and improve it, as this can be even more fun. Like, include an upgrade system, power ups, double swatter! :P

Anyway, cheers! And congrats! :3

I remember my first jam after learning about Unity...
I wish I made something this good!
Great work man!

nusan 2015-09-03 16:49

That was fun, maybe add some blood effects when the capsules are squashed :D

xanjos 2015-09-04 13:48

Apart from the obvious slowdown that you get when you instantiate so many gameobjects in one go (btw you should look into object pooling concepts), the mechanics were actually pretty interesting. Not bad for your first Unity/game jam/LD game.

That white projection on the ground was a good idea, really helped to align your strikes.
