Interesting. The number you have does not really have a lot of effect on my decision where to place it. Also it would be real handy to have an indicator of whose turn it is.
Foon → Ludum Dare Explorer → LD26 → Battle Box

Thanks, it's down at the bottom in small text. Was trying to give the board the most space. Might try and add a more visual indicator on the player's next number later.
An AI would have gone a long way here. I don't have any friends....
Idea seems nice and the rules working, but it's kinda hard to judge the effect while playing against myself... At least super stupid AI would make it a bit more interesting.
nice job, cool take on the theme :)
Thanks guys, yeah, I probably should have spent time making an AI instead of fighting with cloud code. I did get the cloud code working yesterday finally, so that's up on my site http://www.mikeware.com/battlebox/online.htm. It'll hook you up with someone else who happens to be online at the same time to play. (Works on FireFox, Chrome and Safari, the Parse cloud stuff doesn't support IE fully...grrr).
Quite interesting, and there were interesting rules, but I found the actual gameplay a bit tedious - I guess it's part of the needing two players thing. Also, it might be more interesting if you can't see the other player's hand.
Very nice. Only played against myself though. There didn't seem to be anyone else online for your cloud version.
Interesting math rules; seemed like there was a bit of luck with the numbers that came up. I didn't have another person to play with, so I ran through it solo, which limit enjoyment some. An interesting idea, well executed; good match to the theme.
@Polar, yeah the cloud version only shows you your opponent's next move not their whole hand.
@someone, it's on my todo list to look at adding a 'currently online' player counter to the title page.
Interesting concept ! Despite the fact that it is written down and that each one takes a turn after the over, it is actually hard to know who has to play (we are so focus on calculating). You should perhaps make something flashy ;)
This is a rather interesting game. The game rules seem simple enough here that I'm quite interested in building a bot to find strategies. I'll be bookmarking this and playing it for quite a bit.
@lotusgame, thanks yeah, I got wrapped up in the mechanic and taking a minimalist approach to having the board fill the screen, that I only thought of adding the info for who's turn it was at the end near the bottom.
@alts, thanks! I'd be intrigued to see if there are multiple strategies or not. I was more focused on getting a cloud version up than a bot to play against. Have fun!
Nice concept. A bit hard to figure what the numbers has to do with the game other than fill the squares. Overall, it could be a good mobile game. Good job!
great game, i play the LD link and "online", it's great, I love it, congratulations.. (if you continue this game, would be cool add some feedbacks of the calculation that happened with sounds)
Seems like an interesting idea, unfortunatly i could not test it with another person, so I do not know how it will play out in a real game session.
I played a bit vs. my second half, but not enough to figure out what strategy was a winning one. Still, this is an interesting mechanic, good entry!
Interesting game concept. Did you came up with this by yourself? If so - very nice design work!
