can't locate the source code

fixed - apparently if you don't put 'http://' in the url, it doesn't show up at all.

Had quite a lot going on mechanics, I found it tricky to get my head round it at first, but when it clicked it worked pretty well. Love all the text and details, had an almost cactus-esque vibe to it.

Very original concept. I really like the colour-coded detector mechanic. Since you move with the arrow keys, I had to take my hands off the keyboard to click between levels which was frustrating. So my one suggestion to make the great game even better would be to make the SPACEBAR close a dialog so you never have to switch from keyboard to mouse and back. Great work!

Good work. Interesting intersection of abilities and tasks.

Thanks for the feedback - glad to see you guys enjoyed it.

I'm actually looking to do a polish of this and see what I can do with the concept, so I'll definitely be implementing the 'spacebar' suggestion (it never crossed my mind sadly).

Love the name.

Played through to the save half level before I lost interest but there are some nice ideas in there.

It seems that sometimes you can shoot a robot and it will get stuck on the terrain. I've only seen this happen to red or green robots, maybe it can happen to blues as well.

Nice, though extremely hard for a color-blind person. I muddled through most of the levels by trial-and-error without a clue.

I like the tutorial messages that appear at the appropriate place in game, and the no-nonsense keys that should work with any keymap :).

I'm not sure if that fits the theme very well currently. The blue robot aren't even really enemies since they don't attack you.

Unfortunately it looks like on my system (Linux) when a game takes a lot of cpu time (as yours does), it suffers from input lag, which makes the game hard to play. :-/

pdyxs 2010-08-26 21:10

Switchbreak - yeah, sorry about that... this really wasn't designed with accesibility in mind.

stqn - in terms of thems, the game asks you to make weapons out of the enemies of your enemies, whether they be friend or foe. The second half of the game really focuses on the web of alliances and how you need to take into account both who your enemies are, but who other peoples' enemies are.
Its a shame the game lagged on your computer - I'm not sure what's going on there (I haven't had any issues myself)

stqn 2010-09-01 13:13

I fixed my lag issue by patching the Linux kernel with the Zen patchset... So I played again, it was a bit more fun and I went one or two levels farther, but I can't say I understand this web of alliances thing. Not sure if I reached that part; probably not, I think I stopped at level 9. I had trouble understanding the colours or the robots in front of me by looking at my robot's face... (I'm not colour blind but it sometimes didn't make much sense to me.)

Huh.

A lot of it seems more like "friends as weapons" but there is some of the other later on I suppose. The combat is a little clunky, so that could use some polish, but it's an otherwise interesting game.

It was quite difficult, and I couldn't figure out how to use the seeking missiles.
