Not more, not less than healthy food for thought :) Oh, and "return 0" is implicit :P

I'll give you points for usage of theme, and your journal entry.
Well, I guess stuff like this was to be expected. It's funny for a moment, but no, even with what you said in your journal, I don't think this is a game, or a work of art.

Hamumu

I appreciate being entertained, and your entry succeeded at that more than most of the ones that interpreted "minimalism" to mean "half-finished crap".

No, it's not lasting joy, but for an LD game, that is a lot to expect. I doubt i will replay any of the others either, even the ones that were really fun to play!

I confess to not having downloaded it by the way. My programming skills are so vast that I can clearly visualize what playing it would be like just from reading the source. I'm like Neo.

Before I read the journal, I thought this was a joke entry or an "I give up" entry. But the journal makes up for it. Cage's 4'33 is certainly art, but it doesn't mean it fulfills a lot of the needs of the audience ... overall most people would enjoy some other type of music more. This doesn't mean it's "bad", just that more people enjoy music with more sound in it. Your game, KeepRunning has some similar elements to 4'33; the development process and thought behind it is wonderful, but overall it lacks most of the things other games have, making it less generally enjoyable.

I'm not even going to bother downloading this, but I do like the journal entry! (even though I don't agree with it). Plus for originality, but Minus because I don't agree that it's actually a game.

Your other game idea (Resident Evil 0), though not the final one, was also interesting in pushing the bounds of what counts as a game. Pretty much the same comment as above applies to that.

thedaian

I was looking forward to the resident evil idea, if only for the humor involved with a series of yes/no questions involving playing a game. Instead, I got modern art. Points for theme, innovation, and journal, but that's about it, really.

(this is a minimalist comment)

dgriff

It's neither a game nor art if its existence requires justification or explanation.

negativegeforce

unfortunately i gotta put down n/a for most categories since i see no game here, but there is some substance in your journal and stuffs. wish you made that zombie game idea instead

Short of the people who didn't bother to compete at all, this was probably the most "minimalist" game in many sense. I wouldn't have scored it so high had it been just the game, but your "artists statement" was great! Made me laugh!

jovoc

Was this supposed to be a joke? I didn't think this was funny, I thought it was kind of taking a swipe at all of the people who put a lot of time and energy into their games.
