Apr 8 01:02:40 Nightmare Digger ♥ 1 Hey congrats on your first game! Keep at it! The music is a blast! The game matches the vibe, it has a cool arcade non-stop feel to it. One thing that could help making the enemies a bit more fair would've been some kind of sillhouette or an arrow showing where the enemy is coming from, because the low visibility can make them very tough to evade. Other than that, nice entry, good job! I kept trying to build a highscore but only got to 116 I think!
Apr 8 01:21:32 18m 52s Dungeon crawler ♥ 0 Hey, it's always nice to learn new things! 😄 I like how it kinda feels like Nuclear Throne but with VS controls and combat. I got to the end, difficulty felt right (not too easy, not too hard). Good job! PS: How did you like defold?
Apr 8 01:30:51 9m 19s The Trench ♥ 1 As others have said: The sonar effect is so cool! Haha I was waiting for something like that happen at the end. I jumped out of my seat nonetheless. Good job! The atmosphere was great! (no pun intended lol)
Apr 8 01:46:05 15m 14s Deep Delve ♥ 1 I really like the upgrades/weapons system, and the game loop is very fun! My feedback is that I think the randomness could be a little more guided, like prevent shops from spawning one after another, etc. Also, it'd be nice if every enemy dropped coins, even if just one. It would make chasing after them more satisfying. The game is super cool nonetheless. The visuals are really nice, it nails the retro feel, and the audio goes very well along with it. Great job!
Apr 8 01:58:22 12m 17s Tiny Tinker ♥ 1 Cool visual style for this game! The gameplay reminded me of troll mario maker levels haha, with the messages and the wrong paths. By the end, I knew I would definitely have to die to find out where the last thingamajig was hehe. That being said, the game restarts pretty quickly and it's very fast to get to where you were before, so while I usually appreciate checkpoints, I feel like not having them here was the right call due to the nature of the game. Good job! (PS: I had to lower the volume down a bit, the music is good but it was very loud haha)
Apr 8 02:40:10 41m 48s Cthonic Depths ♥ 1 Wow I had a blast with this game! The beginning is very overwhelming, so many options and things to do, but when you start understanding what each thing does, the game becomes SO FUN. I played scenarios 1-6 but I plan to get back to this later. For a first jam game, and for a jam this short, the amount of depth of this game is unreal. I spent lots of time to beat level 6 but it definitely had that eureka moment when I was able to figure everything out. Dealing with your inventory, knowing how to traverse from one point to another, surrounding them, and then making them fall to you one by one is a hell of an experience. Also, I love this kind of theme (cultists, creatures from the deep, cosmic horrors, this kinda stuff). The fact that all characters had their uses reminded me a lot of the lost vikings (norse by norsewest), but in a tactical kinda setting. Great job on this one, I'll definitely follow you on itch to see what comes up next haha
Apr 8 19:35:09 16h 54m Return to Darkness ♥ 1 Nice atmosphere! I really like the image tutorial in the background, quick and straight to the point. I agree with the comment about lighters, I ended up not using them at all. The combat worked well, though I felt the enemies were a bit too vicious. Crystals with different colors giving different stuff was a good mechanic: I went for the red ones whenever I felt I needed my health back. Good job!
Apr 8 20:08:03 32m 54s DungeonDescent ♥ 1 Very cool game! I found it addicting haha. Speaking of broken builds, mine got really crazy at the end: Crystal Ball + a high level border made it so I could spam the hell out of the border ability, because each kill would grant me a cooldown refresh, granting lots of gold/exp/keys as long as there was at least one enemy on the border. After farming for a bit, I killed the enemies manually, since using border doesn't pass the turn. The visuals are simple, but the gameplay is very solid! I can definitely see a game like this being expanded into a full version. Great job!
Apr 8 20:25:29 17m 26s Digdigdig ♥ 1 Such an innovative and charming entry haha! Combat was fun, quests were a blast, I lost it when I had to recover the soap for the giant haha. The enemy attack patterns were a tad too fast/unpredictable, but the overall experience was a blast! Great job!
Apr 9 11:56:42 15h 31m Buried Under Profits ♥ 1 Love the visuals and sound effects, and the gameplay loop is pretty good! I think the laser shark was a bit too vicious haha, but I liked their concept. I wish I could go to the surface and go down multiple times, I was having a lot of fun collecting things, exploding mines and defending myself from the fish, but the time pressure was a bit too much hehe. But other than that, great entry, really solid! As others have said, the SFX and effects are very satisfying, and the controls are intuitive. Good job!
Apr 9 12:28:07 31m 25s The Depths of Planet Z73 ♥ 0 Warning! 😲 Very nice mood/atmosphere! Voice acting gives A LOT of life to the game haha. As others said, it has "No Man's Sky" vibe to it, which is pretty cool! I had a little trouble with visibility, maybe a flashlight of sorts could help with that. After some time, it was kinda tricky to find the materials. I was also surprised that I could keep them upon dying (but I won't complain haha). That being said, I really enjoyed the progression and the fact that every time I could get a little bit farther, or spend a bit more time outside. Really cool entry, I like how it explores the XZ axis instead of Y for depth. Good job!
Apr 9 13:14:57 46m 50s Pandora's Return ♥ 1 Really cool game! The mix of exploration and evolving your character for the battles was super fun. The upgrades were a bit overpowered, yes, but I think this is for the best, especially considering this is a game jam. Hard games more often than not generate frustration, and the gameplay time for jam games is usually short, so for me this had the right amount of difficulty. Great job, this entry was a lot of fun! Also, I'm sorry for your loss <3
Apr 9 13:34:16 19m 19s Work-Life Balance ♥ 1 Hey, why did you make a game about my life? 😅 Jokes aside, pretty cool entry, I love the interpretation of the theme. The random events were wacky hahaha, at the end I probably had like 7 pizza ovens? I was like "my dude, why are you wasting so much money on that lol" When I had a kid, I thought it'd be over, but I got a promotion right after and pushed through. Good job!
Apr 9 23:48:14 10h 13m Into the Depths ♥ 1 Audio is indeed great haha! I ended up skipping the knife because I was doing better with the projectiles. Despite you mentioning it in the description of the game, dummy me tried to kill the boss and a few minutes later I realized I had to escape from it lol 😵. The jetpack controls were great btw. Short but fun game, good job!
Apr 10 00:00:30 12m 16s Holy Moly! ♥ 2 Oh you're the one behind Bleached! I saw the trailer a while back and was in love with the visuals, forgot to wishlist because I was on mobile, but here I am now. Wishlisted haha! Speaking of visuals, this entry has simple but stunning graphics, I'm very curious about the mole's animation. Is the mole a 3D object? Or is it 2D but procedurally animated? Controls are great. The game is super easy, because you can dive into the ground at any time to avoid the enemies, and the mole is fast, so it's not particularly challenging. Despite being a short game, it's technically impressive and incredibly polished. There are lots of details that pop up (the animation, the cutting of grass, destroying trees, etc). Music/audio matches the game very well. Great job!
Apr 10 00:22:21 21m 51s The Amberstone ♥ 1 Interesting idea with the totem thing: You can carry it with you when you're confident enough, at risk of a game over if you fail. I got to a part where there was a crystal, some totem spots, and a strange creature. I grabbed the crystal but I couldn't see where to go next. I accidentally fell and died haha - Then I realized the crystal was still with me, but I couldn't dual wield torches anymore. IMO the concept is sound but it would be greatly improved if it was more forgiving at the beginning, and had less "troll" deaths, if you know what I mean. Just until the player gets used to the controls/environment. The first platforms were already pretty tough, and the visibility increased this difficulty even more. I like the fact that duel wielding torches gave me more visibility, but some platforms were pretty hard to see even then. But difficulty/visibility issues aside, this is a very creative game, with unique visuals. And I had fun, getting the totem to the next checkpoints was a thrill. Good job!
Apr 10 00:33:27 11m 06s Treasures ♥ 2 Haha getting stuck upside down was both frustrating and really funny. Impressive work for 3.5 hours, the controls are pretty unique. It's one of those games that finding out how to do things is half the journey. It reminded me of getting over it and human fall flat, in a way. Very fun game. Good job!
