| Oct 7 23:05:04 | Lint | ♥ 2 | I love this! The dialog is sharp and charming, the art is adorable, and the platforming is pretty tight. It is remarkably difficult to get the platforms in a platformer to feel grounded like this, rather than arbitrarily placed- so kudos to you for doing that. My only real gripe here was with the camera - sometimes it made it difficult to see where I was going because it would move up as i jumped. Platformer cameras sometimes have a buffer zone for their y axis movement so that jumping doesn't bring the camera far up and then far down again. (This is, of course, an incredibly minor nitpick.) On the whole, this game was charming, funny, fun, and sweet. Great work! | |
| Oct 8 00:56:34 | 1h 51m | Multimorph | ♥ 1 | Cool! I love any jam game that makes me go _...what the hell is this_? After getting to grips with what was going on though, this was actually really fun! The blob movement kind of reminded me of a game I'm rather fond of, Mushroom 11. My only issue with the game was that I found it stuttered a lot on my machine- I don't know what a good way to fix this would be, maybe running the automata as a compute shader? Though I really don't know how this is working on the back end. I really like cellular automata and this really tickled me. Cool! |
| Oct 8 01:09:16 | 12m 42s | The Scrimbly Bimblies | ♥ 0 | Obviously not really a looker, but oh my god this game is **FUN**. And the adaptive music is a great touch. But seriously, the mechanics here are both dead simple and rock solid. This is fantastic work. Love it. |
| Oct 8 22:04:31 | 20h 55m | Small things | ♥ 1 | Visuals are *awesome*! As someone who uses physically made art for my own games, I know how tedious and difficult this is to pull off. Gameplay is fine, but not the focus here. |
| Oct 11 04:48:45 | 54h 44m | Ladybird Samurai | ♥ 1 | Fun! There's a lot of lovely polish here with the bonus objectives and upgrades - though I fear that they serve to hide a main mechanic that doesn't have a lot of substance. I think with a few small tweaks, this main mechanic could be really really fun-- maybe more ability to aim, or to manipulate enemies into positions/ line them up? For now, this feels a bit empty. Sorry, that sounds quite negative- a lot that *is* here is really really good. I love the sprites that bob in when you complete the game, they made me smile. I like the polish you have here- everything feels super juicy. The bonus objectives do give fun goals to strive for. |
| Oct 11 05:12:12 | 23m 27s | Tiny Creature Support Group | ♥ 1 | Really fun, given that it's basically just hangman? The "buy" mechanic, along with the hints, made this quite fun to figure out - felt like solving a crossword! Good stuff. small_enemy_spider.png |
| Oct 22 22:18:53 | 281h 06m | Shrew | ♥ 1 | Fantastic!! Really great stuff, I had a ton of fun playing through this. I definitely needed to take notes to solve everything, and I wasn't really expecting to need to do algebra, but I enjoyed doing so thoroughly. I really appreciate that the hints for the code puzzle were saved and displayed so I didn't need to write them down. Loved the zoom-out at the end, gave it a kind of bittersweet final note. | Oct 22 22:27:11 | 8m 18s | W.A.S.P. - Warrior And Scout Protocol | ♥ 1 | Nice graphics, though the pixel inconsistency was a touch distracting. For me, this enemy movement pattern felt more like something from a twin-stick shooter than from a shmup - I kept feeling like I wanted to shoot backwards and couldn't. Overall, though, this is a neat game. |
| Oct 23 01:28:04 | 3h 00m | Tossed and Found | ♥ 1 | Really fun! Good puzzles at first, and the jank strangely made it much, much more fun to speedrun. I figured out some fun tech, like a way to ride up the spiders while still carrying an item, and a neat little clip on the mantis level. The only reason I stopped grinding was because waiting for the middle crab level got a bit dull (I spent a while trying to find shortcuts, and was sad that there weren't any.) Tech for the last level is really neat. I'm Joe B on the leaderboard -- how the heck did @hooknows get 1:55?? I'm jealous. |
| Oct 23 07:05:37 | 5h 37m | Niblo and Mubbit | ♥ 1 | I very much enjoyed the story! The characters are cute and very charming. I like the art and sfx here as well. The gameplay is... bad. I felt unsure if I was missing something the whole time, and at its worst it almost led me to abandon the game despite my investment in finding out what was going on. I loved the twist ending. |
| Oct 23 15:59:43 | 8h 54m | Maginot | ♥ 1 | It is absolutely astounding that you were able to create something this fun, this polished, and this wonderful in 48 hours. I thoroughly enjoyed this piece, and can't wait to see what you do next. Screenshot 2024-10-23 105831.png |
| Oct 23 16:05:23 | 5m 40s | Nomnoms | ♥ 1 | Simple and fun! Great sfx, and very satisfying gameplay. |
| Oct 24 00:22:12 | 8h 16m | GravelHeir | ♥ 1 | What a wonderfully and unapologetically weird game. Really neat- I made the perfect heir. |
| Oct 24 00:28:08 | 5m 56s | Dream Quest: Land of the Living Wishes | ♥ 0 | Wonderfully beautiful graphics, but missing the kind of punch that would have made it really great. I think the mechanics themselves were fine, but missing some telegraphing of how they work and some feedback (screenshake, color flash, hitstop,) when you hit an enemy |
| Oct 24 02:14:27 | 1h 46m | Office Pets! | ♥ 1 | Cute and fun! Absolutely incredible for the first game you've programmed. And absolutely gorgeous, oh my goodness. All of these designs are so charming, it makes me want a whole animal/office supply based pokemon-type game! |
| Oct 24 03:00:53 | 46m 26s | 7777777 | ♥ 1 | Really neat twist on the genre! The puzzle was fundamentally pretty neat, and I think that with some refinement this could turn out really cool. |
| Oct 24 06:24:06 | 3h 23m | Tiny revolution | ♥ 1 | Neat main mechanic! I love the idea of a cross between a twinstick shooter and a memory game. Super duper cool. |
| Oct 24 06:27:03 | 2m 57s | Snail Typing | ♥ 1 | Screenshot 2024-10-24 012550.png Sick! I wish there were difficulty options of some kind - I got through this way too quickly. This is really fun though, I enjoyed my snail-racing time a lot. |
| Oct 24 06:32:13 | 5m 10s | Stick Racing | ♥ 0 | Love the art!! The car paper crumpling is such a wonderful visual pun. Good stuff. |
