| Jan 9 05:30:08 | Bas | ♥ 1 | Thoroughly enjoyed it! Had some neat mechanics that could be expanded on for a lot of interesting puzzles. The jumping sound itself wasn't bad, I think it's high end just needs to be tuned down a bit to make it easier on the ears. The vine and mushroom growing animations could be sped up a little bit since you are experimenting with the different seed positions. It starts getting tedious waiting on it, especially if you need to restart a level. The first mushroom part was a clever one that took me a few tries but was a good puzzle, It might would work better later on after you have time to use the mushroom seed a bit more. I could see this doing well as a casual puzzler or a platformer if you wanted to go that route. | |
| Jan 9 05:55:36 | 25m 28s | Shoo! | ♥ 1 | Those sounds are fantastic I couldn't make it past level 3, seemed like I was too slow to cover all the crops in time even when spamming the dash button. The shoo thing when mixing with the dash felt a bit clunky, I think because it moves you forward a tiny bit and it has to wait until the dash is finished. Maybe doing the shoo as an aoe like drunkardwolf mentioned but being able to do it mid dash would help alot. I think removing the dash and just increasing the movement speed to compensate or something would feel more fluid than needing to constantly spam the dash to keep up, especially since you do it on cooldown with no cost. I'm curious how it would feel with the camera locked in the center up high looking over the whole field, kinda like a mario party game. Really enjoyed it though! Was a fun little glimpse into the painful life of a scarecrow lol |
| Jan 9 06:31:26 | 35m 50s | Mow Rider Deluxe | ♥ 1 | Somehow this was relaxing and stressful at the same time lol I wanted to keep the lines straight so badly but the tractor wasn't having it. Was a super neat concept though, makes me think of farming simulator mixed with overcooked. I could see having a farmer running around jumping between machines and having to hastily do everything while chaos ensues. I did have some chugging once I got into the middle of the field though. There are a few things in unity you may can check out for mesh instancing if you havnt yet that could help. Good to see you and your son had some fun with it! |
| Jan 9 18:21:04 | 11h 49m | Tough Luck Mr. Harvard | ♥ 1 | All Mr.Harvard wanted to do was dance and commit felony tax fraud but everyone has it out for him. Seemed like all the equipment that wasnt the rocket and laser beam got replaced almost instantly. Flying controls worked okay but the shooting the direction you are moving is always a weird one for me. Maybe adding mouse support to shoot at angles no matter the flying direction would feel more fluid. I could see it being super fun as a roguelike/lite type of game. Would have to plan out and make decisions on equipment and drops and stuff as you go. Maybe implement the tax fraud thing into it and you have to run your lighting collection business while evading the tax collectors lmao. Really enjoyed it and the storyline 😆 |
| Jan 10 18:58:43 | 24h 37m | Carrot Jack | ♥ 1 | I felt like the frequency of the sickle was a bit off compared to how many times you actually needed it. I went the more fast paced route and tried to keep up with the carrot compared to stockpiling a bunch at one time and I kept getting jebaited by rng lol. Maybe some kind of % or bar indicator for the big carrot would be helpful, there were a few times I tried to sickle early thinking it was the last few I needed but it kept getting bigger. Overall it was pretty fun, especially when you try the fast paced route. Art and animations were polished nicely! |
| Jan 10 19:22:50 | 24m 07s | Halloween Harvest | ♥ 1 | Was super fun and fast paced the more nights that passed! The shotgun was satisfying to use and made me feel like I was playing doom again. I think the fragments and the red spirits as they are rebuilding themselves should have the collision disabled. I got stuck in weird places alot after gunning down a few of them near walls and corners. Also maybe a more transparent material when they switch to spirit form. The small pumpkins seemed to shoot off into space sometimes if they got hit while being carried. Some way to throw or launch the pumpkins back to the base would be super cool though, maybe being able to throw it in the air and shoot it or just a special throw button. That way you can juggle them back to the base if you cleared a few stolen ones in the later levels. The sounds themselves was good but I think the higher end of them needed to be EQ'd. It was a little harsh on the ears with such a spikey sound. Kudos on the tutorial also, it explained everything pretty well and didn't leave any questions. Overall it was a blast and I could see a full game working out with some more mechanics added. Sort of like nazi zombies mixed with orcs must die / base defense hybrid. |
| Jan 11 00:30:50 | 5h 08m | Night of the Zombie Chickens | ♥ 1 | Made it to wave 7, had a blast. Was satisfying running over a whole crowd of chickens and hearing the constant bawkbawkbawkbawk lol Felt like the difficulty ramped up super fast near the end and it was hard to keep up but stuff like that can be fixed with balancing. Overall was a neat concept, I could see adding more defensive and base stuff alongside incorporating the farming side like you mentioned in another comment and it being a fun roguelike/lite game |
| Jan 11 00:46:17 | 15m 27s | Click On Fish | ♥ 1 | Thought I was gonna roll up on that leaderboard... the leaderboard rolled up on me Was a fun little game, it switched from peace to stress without me realizing until it was too late lol The leaderboard addition was really nice. The violent stab animation was 10/10. I played on an ultra-widescreen and it had weird bars on the side that did the same effect when you clip out of bounds. Not taking any points for that just wanted to toss it out there so you are aware for future projects. Fish.png |
| Jan 15 23:12:47 | 118h 26m | HARRR Vests | ♥ 1 | I'm not sure what I was expecting but it wasn't that lmao Was a very interesting concept and clever use of the theme. I feel like mouse control would've worked a bit better than WASD but it wasn't bad. This concept would be hilarious to have some Surgeon Simulator influence and there be utter chaos and tools flying everywhere while you are trying to stitch something. |
| Jan 15 23:42:29 | 29m 42s | The Unidentified Flying Cat Burglars! | ♥ 1 | Was a lot of fun and started getting crazy near the end. Audio set the tone very well and made me feel like I was playing an old school arcade game. The only thing that felt super weird for me was the bounds at the top of the map. Felt like it stopped without any indication and sometimes the enemies would spawn right at the edge and was unable to be hit. |
| Jan 16 00:06:54 | 24m 25s | Harvest of the Gods | ♥ 1 | The development process was an interesting ride to say the least lol. I would call this a successful experiment, you were fair about the pros/cons of it all. Game wise I felt like the lighting hit box was a bit too small, I see a previous comment about it being a raycast. Maybe a box cast or something wouldve felt better, especially on stage 2 where alot more movement is required. The character movement seemed okay if you were at a standstill or moving slowly, I think there's some weird residual velocity built up once you get to moving fast and it makes turning very clunky. Overall it was an entertaining and informative experience to watch it play out and then play the result. |
| Jan 22 21:58:45 | 165h 51m | Bloody Roots | ♥ 0 | The intro had me all over the place, didn't know what to expect going in but it was fun lol. The glowing indicator for low blood helped a lot during the frantic moments. My only issue was the model for the fencing was very hard to see and I kept getting stuck on it wondering why I couldn't move anymore. |
| Jan 22 22:18:57 | 20m 12s | Bungee Pumpkin Harvester | ♥ 1 | Interesting concept and the sound effects are 10/10 lol The bungee physics was a bit weird at times but it added to the charm. I could see this working with the purpose of crazy physics or tuning them a bit more to be more strategic and slower paced. If the crazy physics is what you are after maybe reducing the bungee count to just 1 and having it based on momentum / slingshotting across the map would be cool. For the slower paced it could be more puzzle like and deliberate on the bungee positions, similar to when you get the multiple point grappling hooks in Terraria and have to hit them in certain orders to maneuver to a spot. |
| Jan 22 22:33:19 | 14m 22s | M.E.A.T. Rancher 2199 | ♥ 1 | Was super fun, polished, and had me zoned in for awhile. I wish the camera was a bit more zoomed out though, I think it would make it lean towards the arcade flow a bit better. If it were slower paced and required planning of the routes the zoomed in camera would work well. Sound and music was very nice and kept the flow going the entire time. Maybe some rough indicator of fullness near the harvester would be helpful also, like a x/4 bar graph or something to let me know im getting closer and need to pay attention to the limits. |
| Jan 25 04:04:34 | 53h 31m | Chaos Mode | ♥ 1 | The premise is so simple but so well done lol Lighting and models are clean and crisp. |
| Jan 25 04:18:21 | 13m 47s | Night Harvest | ♥ 0 | Well done atmosphere and spooky vibes. I think with more content and mechanics it could make an interesting horror story. The sounds were good but not having a fade between the engine sound restarting was super jarring. Having it pitch black unless in the light gives it a sense of the unknown but maybe having a small tint of moonlight on the field and catching a glimpse of things moving would be another option to add to the paranoia. Overall I enjoyed it and it was a refreshing change from most of the other games. |
