Oct 4 20:15:50 Find Ten Seconds ♥ 0 As I was playing I thought it would make a good meditative game, were it not for the constant ticking countdown. But then I realised it's actually a good mix of freedom and time pressure; it forces you to make (semi-)quick decisions rather than scouring the entire board for the best move.
Oct 4 20:40:38 24m 48s Sonar ♥ 5 The graphics and atmosphere on this game are great! I'm not sure what was going on with the difficulty though - the first two times I played I got blown up straight away by two enemies, then the third time I didn't encounter a single enemy. Still had a fun time with it though!
Oct 4 20:55:05 14m 27s Escape The Simulation ♥ 1 I persevered and managed to complete it! It's a good use of the theme, and although it's galling to fail to reach the safe zone at the end, it's not too much to have to go through it again.
Oct 4 21:04:13 9m 08s A Handy Job ♥ 2 This is great, although it's really difficult! The tutorial certainly helps a lot though. Art and sounds are very stylised and they work well together!
Oct 4 21:18:33 14m 20s 96 beats per minute ♥ 1 It's a good thing the aliens are in no rush, because it took me a little while to figure this out. When I did, though, I enjoyed making patterns and beats with the different sounds. I guess it's a little too easy for the marker to come back round and erase what you're doing if you forget to press the arrow keys or space to stop editing.
Oct 4 21:29:12 10m 39s 10 SECONDS TO DUNGEON ♥ 2 I really enjoyed this, top marks for humour! Also once I got the +1 bow I had to go back and try again. I like the variety in the levels, so even if you play it a bunch of times you still encounter new situations.
Oct 17 19:52:33 310h 23m Pizza Game ♥ 1 I enjoyed this! The sounds are simple but they give good feedback as to what you're doing, especially when you're trying to do it quickly. Sometimes the orders overlapped too much and I couldn't click on the one underneath to read it, but then I wasn't really fulfilling orders quickly enough anyway :)
Oct 17 20:05:43 13m 10s Growth Spurt ♥ 3 It has that Garry's Mod style jankiness that makes it hilarious! Sometimes it's hard to figure out which trees provide energy and which are just in the background, and sometimes my neck exploded for reasons of physics weirdness. Also there seemed to be a bug whereby if I tried to play again, the energy never depleted and I could just wait until my neck was long enough to eat the moon.
Oct 17 20:12:55 7m 12s The Useless Clock Machine ♥ 1 The embedded game on the website seems to get a 404 error, but I was able to download the Windows game and try it there. I like the way you use the countdown timer as the background! It's fun, and satisfying to click faster than the clock can count back up again :)
Oct 17 20:21:15 8m 20s Trainz ♥ 1 My son is very much into trains and I considered making a game about them, so I'm glad you came up with a fun train game! I love the DIY sound effects, and the graphics mostly work well although I think it would be better if you could more easily see which way the points are going. This is one of the ones I will definitely come back and try again later!
Oct 17 20:30:23 9m 08s Alchimia ♥ 2 There's some good variety in this game, and it feels frantic trying to look up the ingredients and mix them properly, although it seemed that even though new orders came in every 10 seconds, I didn't run out of time at the end of the day. It was a bit galling to see how much money I still owed on my loan :) The monochrome graphics are good, they give the game a certain mood/style while also saving development time!
Oct 17 20:40:50 10m 27s Rayna Runs ♥ 0 Good job! I had an XBox 360 controller to hand so I played it with that, and I was instinctively pressing LT to try and centre the camera. I played it through to the final level, although as other people have said, it can be quite hard to control at times. Just goes to show the amount of work and subtle tweaking that goes into the controls of a proper third-person platformer!
Oct 17 20:49:58 9m 08s Foody the Robot ♥ 1 This game looks nice, and the narration really sets the mood. I did encounter one of the bugs though, it made me lose as soon as I selected the correct products.
Oct 17 21:14:22 24m 24s NN7 Guardian ♥ 2 The graphics look lovely, and they remind me very much of Homeworld! It's interesting how compelling it is to watch your ships carry out their tasks, even though there isn't actually that much player input during most of the game. Trying to balance the resources is fun though, and I did manage to get victory eventually (after reading some of the comments to find out how)
Oct 17 21:25:45 11m 23s Long Shot ♥ 0 After playing this for a while, I think that although the 10-second weapon cooldown fits the theme well, it's not that much fun when actually playing because it feels like a lot of tight dodging and not much you can do about it. I do really like the retro vibes though, and that you made it in TIC-80. Good job!
Oct 17 21:33:32 7m 47s MEGACHONKER ♥ 1 That is pretty funny! Shame I can't rate you for humour :P
Oct 17 21:46:10 12m 38s The Ariadaeus Run ♥ 1 I like the pixel art here and the retro sounds and music, but this game is really difficult! I played with an XBox 360 controller and I kept trying to press A to jump (sending me boosting into the nearest rock)
Oct 21 21:01:33 95h 15m The Many Short-Lived Adventures of a Box ♥ 2 I think the difficulty works well, because you restart every 10 seconds anyway so it doesn't seem like you're losing much. The platforming controls have a really nice feel though, especially the double jump and dash, although sometimes it seemed like I couldn't double jump right when I needed to. Music is nice too :)
Oct 21 21:31:01 29m 28s Justin Time: Man of the Hour ♥ 2 I had a lot of fun playing this game. I'm a fan of deckbuilding games like Hearthstone, MtG and Dominion so I jumped at the chance to play a card game. It took me a while to figure out exactly what was happening, but eventually I got the hang of dragging the cards, and the way the timer turns grey to show cooldown. I think what you achieved in the Jam is really good! As with every jam game there are improvements and extra things that could be done. For a card game, and in particular one where you have to play the cards quickly, you would need a lot of polish to make it clear what's happening, and the effect of playing your cards. But I think what you managed works well enough, and I certainly enjoyed several rounds of it!
