| Apr 5 18:47:18 | Les Aventures de De Lay L'InĂ©vitable! | ♥ 1 | highscore.png 123 seconds. At first I thought I had found the perfect angle and could just hold x and wipe out the entire revolution, but I was proved wrong as things began to ramp up. The art style is really cohesive and the 8-bit style goes well with the humorous tone of the game. The gameplay is simple but I got a good laugh out of this game. Overall great work! | |
| Apr 5 19:00:03 | 12m 45s | The Arcane Artist | ♥ 3 | The spell drawing is a cool original idea; I think it has potential to be the core of a great game. The game fell short for me because it goes on and on without getting more difficult (or if the difficulty does increase I didn't notice). The fire easily takes out the orcs/zombies and the lightning can sweep up the birds. A score screen (maybe time survived) would be cool so the player has a good measure of how well they do and whether they're improving. Good work! |
| Apr 5 23:07:08 | 4h 07m | This Is Just A Game | ♥ 2 | Love the meta idea! The pistol feels a bit underpowered and I felt like I was being swarmed pretty quickly, but maybe I'm just not good at the game yet. The game broke when I restarted and I couldn't move...at first I thought this was a bug, but then I realized it was the spiders' doing. Great job. |
| Apr 5 23:19:06 | 11m 58s | Destination Station | ♥ 2 | I had a lot of fun being the interstellar gatekeeper here. My butterfly clicking really came in handy when it started getting crazy. It's a simple management game with simple graphics, and the humorous tone adds a lot to it. One thing that I noticed is that when I'm frantically clicking trying to let people in and upgrade gates, I keep upgrading the roads accidentally and losing all my money. The gate icons are also pretty small, so when it gets stressful I fumble around trying to click them. It might be more intuitive if you swap the upgrade and teleport button. Good job. |
| Apr 6 00:30:45 | 1h 11m | The British Are Coming! | ♥ 5 | I spent about an hour on a run, got the Brit-o-meter to max, and had a lot of fun exploring your game's meta along the way. I have a good amount of feedback for you guys... -Many chests are positioned in a way that you can send one regular pirate on a suicide mission to get the massive amount of booty in the chest at the expense of his life. I was able to use this tactic to rack up over 500 rum before I retired with no risk of losing. A potential fix might be to make it so pirates have to return to the ship before you get the loot. -It gets to a point where there are so many cannons, and they're positioned in such a way that no matter how many or what combination of pirates you send to a chest, it's impossible to get the chest. Even with pistol pirates, there were instances where my guys were getting bombarded by three cannons from the fortress above and they didn't have the range to retaliate, so they just got wiped out by AoE damage. -The pirates ragdoll in really funny (but maybe unintended) ways. Sometimes they just freeze and t-pose where they are. My favorite is when they fall over t-posing and start rolling down a hill forever. -The three resources are a bit unbalanced. By the end of the game, I had enough rum to run a popular liquor store for the rest of my life without owning a brewery. I had far more gunpowder than I had gold to buy pistol pirates, resulting in about 400 of it sitting useless. Maybe more features would help these things too, like different things you can spend resources on. -There were a couple visual glitches with the models, like a plane not lining up with the rest of the terrain so you could see the obvious rectangular model. Overall, I had a lot of fun playing your game, and I was extremely impressed with the art. The gameplay isn't super original but is made up for by the humor and the design. The sounds the pirates make when you spawn them crack me up every time and the music really exemplifies the pirate theme. Great job on this project! |
| Apr 6 00:50:11 | 19m 26s | ClickToJump | ♥ 3 | As soon as I saw the world record of 34, I instantly knew that it would be a piece of cake claiming that title for myself. After actually opening the game and giving it hundreds of attempts, I can proudly say that my highscore is 9. This game is really addicting, and my one piece of advice is to make it so that you bounce off of walls; that would make for some really cool trickshots. Great job for a 4 hour game! |
| Apr 6 01:04:13 | 14m 02s | Witchcraft | ♥ 4 | Late game there are some optimization issues as more enemies come onto the screen and it starts to lag. I might be inexperienced, but it feels like it gets pretty impossible too quickly; maybe some balancing changes would do it some good. Good job! |
| Apr 6 01:25:56 | 21m 43s | The Endless Night | ♥ 2 | The first thing that caught my eye when I saw this game is that the art is fantastic! It's a neat management game concept, but I found myself getting bored because the gameplay loop is pretty repetitive. Some more features that come in over time may help with that. Great job! |
| Apr 6 01:49:16 | 23m 20s | Quota Qrunch | ♥ 5 | This game was an experience. It's not something you'd play multiple times, but I loved every aspect of it my first time through. The visual style suits the game really well; its derpiness complements the game's humor while the exaggerated facial expressions complement the game's underlying dark theme. The music adds to the mood everywhere as well. Great job on this one! |
| Apr 6 02:17:35 | 28m 19s | Vanguard Rush | ♥ 1 | The art on this game is fantastic! It seems to have a lot of balancing issues though, as the number of mechs surrounding you very quickly becomes overwhelming, and your gun isn't nearly enough to deal with all of them, especially considering how difficult it is to aim and some weird things that happen with the camera when you're constantly locking onto targets. The special attack helps clear out robots but the time it takes to recharge isn't enough before I'm swarmed by the rest. Some small changes would help this game out a lot. Great start! |
| Apr 6 02:33:40 | 16m 05s | Settlers & Prophecies | ♥ 1 | I haven't been able to beat this game yet, but it's pretty addicting. Those blasted roads keep putting me into debt! A detailed description of how each variable works (rats, boars, happiness, etc.) and a more analytical description of each of the buildings (how much gold does this provide? How many people does this bring in over time?) would do this game a lot of justice and I wouldn't be so lost with what to do. Great start! ...bonus points for Godot :) |
| Apr 6 03:26:23 | 52m 43s | The Dam Repairman | ♥ 2 | So close to 10000...a roughly 24 minute run left me at 9776 before I let my guard down for a second and lost it all. This concept is really simple and in turn has a lot of depth. If you want to do well and beat the RNG, you have to use strategy. On to the criticism... Great pacing with the appearance of the cracks. You're barely hanging on most of the time, but the only way to lose is if you make a mistake (you can never blame a loss on the RNG). After 24 minutes, the music starts to get a bit old; for a game like this something less upfront may be better. Your game has a really clever core gameplay loop that never gets dull. Overall, I had a blast with this! Untitled.png (I recorded my run; if you're interested in watching let me know and I'll upload it) |
| Apr 7 18:27:47 | 39h 01m | Ceaseless Rain | ♥ 1 | Solid game! The art is cohesive and the music works well with the game; I like to imagine the arpeggios as raindrops. The rate at which cracks appear and develop is pretty balanced, making me want to come back to improve my score. If anything, sound effects would go a long way, like a light rain ambience and sounds each time you move something. Also, the water may slow you too much, as I always get to a point where I don't have time to saw more wood pretty early on. That being said, my highscore is 119 which is below a bunch of the people here, so what do I know? Good work. |
