I liked the artstyle and your graphics! Very nice game!
Nice Graphics, Nice Sound. Gameplay is could be more engaging. When you send an attack you can just wait until the pirates are back.
Yes, my favorite T posing skeletons are featured!
Ok, the navmesh is pretty impressive. Amazing AAA voice acting. There's even walking/running animation!
Gud game me lik 4/5
the game is well done, especially for graphics and audio, but the AI needs to be improved. Anyway, nice job!
Screenshot 2022-04-05 at 12.56.11.png Not sure about that :)) Overall fun game, I really liked the voice acting. "Arr"
Very funny and well done game, if only we could make our pirates to attack specific target or walk to tresure with some waypoints
the graphics are really great, especially the animated characters look beautiful.
Very solid game. Loved the graphics, core gameloop is really interesting. I like managings resources, units, creatings strats, and your game gives the freedom to do so. Thank you for the submission
Looks like a promising game! Clearly a lot of work was put into modelling and level design (although I'd make the ship sail white and thinner, right now it looks like made out of cardboard). Rendering in general needs some tweaking - AA is missing, and shadows look weird at times (looks like undertweaked cascaded shadow maps). It's also hard to see what's going on when you see the whole island and your troops are tiny and occupy just a handful of pixels on the screen.
The gameplay is a bit too slow - you just click and wait until your troops do the trip to the chest and back, with nothing else to do. They also behave weirdly in terms of combat - sometimes they'd attack the enemies, sometimes they won't.
Anyways, looks like a promising game that needs tweaking and balancing, good job!
I liked it, although a bit easy it was definitely enjoyable!
The art was great (although anti-aliasing and better shading would've made it even better) I thought the voice lines were nice and the T-posing skeletons were pretty funny
I would've liked a little more control over my pirates, as they often got into fights I didn't want them to or just ran away while getting shot down instead of shooting back but I understand that that would probably be out of the scope of a game jam
Fun theme! Voices added a lot. : D Mechanics worked well for the most part. I could see this evolving.
Improvements: - It would have been good to have a quick button for sending all pirates. - Camera rotation felt weird.
Bugs (occasional): - Pirates became stuck both on their way to the treasure and on the pier on the way back, resulting in losses. - Dead pirates entered a tumbling state and rolled across the map until they fell into the water and fell for an eternity (actually a bit entertaining).
The British skeletons T-posed to assert their dominance even in death. 10/10 excellent historical documentary!
Ha! Funny game, and seems really promising. Plus you even managed to add a tutorial level.
I can imagine this with pirates scattered all over the island, and the player needs to manage them by nudging things out of their way, or directing them over obstacles.
Great start!
Cool game. Sending 1 pirate to grab a chest works pretty often. Also seems extremely difficult to run out of rum
I spent about an hour on a run, got the Brit-o-meter to max, and had a lot of fun exploring your game's meta along the way. I have a good amount of feedback for you guys...
-Many chests are positioned in a way that you can send one regular pirate on a suicide mission to get the massive amount of booty in the chest at the expense of his life. I was able to use this tactic to rack up over 500 rum before I retired with no risk of losing. A potential fix might be to make it so pirates have to return to the ship before you get the loot.
-It gets to a point where there are so many cannons, and they're positioned in such a way that no matter how many or what combination of pirates you send to a chest, it's impossible to get the chest. Even with pistol pirates, there were instances where my guys were getting bombarded by three cannons from the fortress above and they didn't have the range to retaliate, so they just got wiped out by AoE damage.
-The pirates ragdoll in really funny (but maybe unintended) ways. Sometimes they just freeze and t-pose where they are. My favorite is when they fall over t-posing and start rolling down a hill forever.
-The three resources are a bit unbalanced. By the end of the game, I had enough rum to run a popular liquor store for the rest of my life without owning a brewery. I had far more gunpowder than I had gold to buy pistol pirates, resulting in about 400 of it sitting useless. Maybe more features would help these things too, like different things you can spend resources on.
-There were a couple visual glitches with the models, like a plane not lining up with the rest of the terrain so you could see the obvious rectangular model.
Overall, I had a lot of fun playing your game, and I was extremely impressed with the art. The gameplay isn't super original but is made up for by the humor and the design. The sounds the pirates make when you spawn them crack me up every time and the music really exemplifies the pirate theme. Great job on this project!
Wow! It's like new Pirates of the Caribbean! I am really impressed with your assets of ship, houses, pirats etc. Sound and visual live in harmony. Very impressive! 5 rum bottles from 5
I could have played this all day. Looks great and plays great. Some way of targeting enemies like cannons specifically might be nice.
You guys heard everything I had to say anyway. This is a great entry!
