Apr 10 14:38:32 Come, eat, leave ♥ 1 Nice game, I liked the graphical style. Would be great to have more sounds, like when you catch the bugs. As another commenter mentioned, it is quite easy to defend the last few plants forever. I think it would be nice to expand the gameplay a little, so there's more to it than just moving your mouse over the bugs - maybe you have to avoid some types, or some are faster than others?
Apr 10 22:55:32 8h 17m Starship Kafka ♥ 1 I like the graphics, and I definitely fell for the infinite levels.. your comment put it into perspective, nice 😂. Some sound/music would have been a good addition, and I think the platforming could do with a bit of tweaking to make it feel more responsive. Nice entry!
Apr 12 08:32:52 33h 37m BDriver ♥ 1 Nice, very good job! I liked the multitasking, and the music was a good match for the game. I tried about 5 times to get past the sand patch, but the suspension is reeeaaally difficult to control (I'm not sure if this is potentially a framerate-dependent thing), its almost impossible to avoid rolling the car, and it keeps bouncing all over the place. Other than that though, i like the idea and its been really nicely put together (especially for compo), nice job!
Apr 12 13:23:45 4h 50m Fill The Generator ♥ 1 Nice little platformer! I think it would be good to turn up the character speed a little bit, it felt a little slow and floaty at times, tricky to jump over the enemies. I agree with the other commenter, the controls for picking up and dropping gas cans could be improved, holding it down was some keyboard gymnastics! (also my non-gaming keyboard won't let me press that many letter keys at the same time!) I also found myself getting lost quite easily, adding some random graphics to different areas may help with memorability so the player stands a better chance of retracing their steps. I enjoyed it though, the graphics are cute and the level is pretty nicely designed with well hidden gas canisters!
Apr 15 20:56:40 79h 32m Lava Tactics ♥ 1 I liked this! Like a fluid simulation turned game. Once I got the hang of interpreting the topology of the land it became a bit easier to predict where the lava was going to flow, which was pretty cool. I found the ice to be very effective. I wish the gun scared the animals away - I wasn't sure what actual purpose it served in this case... shooting the lava clearly doesn't help :P Clearly a lot of effort went into this game, it has a huge number of features and a lot of complexity. I like the simple art, and the map itself is pretty in its own functional way. Very nice entry!
Apr 19 22:27:52 97h 31m Pickle-Pocalypse ♥ 0 Final score of 70! ^^ I liked the sounds of the guns: grenade launcher and shotgun felt especially meaty - and there was good variation between them all. Music was decent and the voiceover was funny. I liked the graphics, they were nicely done, and the animations were simple but effective. I think a couple of simple improvements that would add a lot would be to enable shooting in more directions (was a bit frustrating to not be able to shoot up) and also to stop them spawning literally on top of you (that cost me my first game). Overall great entry!
Apr 19 22:36:47 8m 55s Icecream Runner ♥ 1 Nice graphical style, simple but worked well, and the music was a good addition. The game itself is fairly straightforward, but the questions were pretty funny and I did feel compelled to keep trying again and again until I could complete it! It wasn't very obvious where to find the key, I ended up just accidentally walking past it! Couple of bugs: 1. I couldn't actually see my girlfriend on the benches, they were empty, so it was a little unclear where I was trying to get. 2. My camera seemed to be always turning right for some reason? Anyway, its a nice simple, complete game in 3d, which I understand takes a great effort to put together - nice job!
Apr 19 23:02:31 25m 44s Trash Simulator 3000 ♥ 1 My man in the truck is delaying the collapse of society, these animals are just throwing their trash everywhere! I enjoyed the concept, and think this could be the beginning of one of those fun party games (like overcooked or moving out). I think it would be a bit more fun if the map was a bit smaller (or there was a way to see the whole thing) and there was some kind of loss condition, so you would need to target the dirtiest areas before the riots start. Great entry though and great job getting such a complete gameplay loop done in the compo - nice! (Also I think tighter turning angles on the truck would give it a more arcadey feel, but might be more fun!)
Apr 19 23:07:41 5m 10s Delay Ludum Dare (Browser Extension) ♥ 0 Haha, nice illusion of delaying the inevitable! Fun take!
Apr 19 23:19:21 11m 40s Milk man commits tax fraud ♥ 0 Taxes are the greatest inevitability of all :P Nice entry, it was fun and looked good, but I hit the same issue with tipping the van and getting soft locked so having to Alt-F4 each time. I liked the cute engine sound, and the level was nicely done with the cute other cars going around. Music was good too. A little more work into making the van grip the road a bit more (and maybe auto flip when you tip it) would be great! Nice entry!
Apr 19 23:33:03 13m 42s Swerve City ♥ 2 hehe, got to number 2 with 4:29 (high scores did a good job of making me want to play more :P). I really like the look of this game, its simple but the pixelation is really beautiful - great retro feel. Sound & music was nice too and fit well with the game. Controls were also really tight and felt good. I agree with the other commenter that it would be nice if the camera snapped around the corner faster, so you could catch those early obstacles. I was also caught by police coming up behind me, which I'm not sure it was possible to predict, so that felt a little unfair (or maybe I'm just bitter about coming second) anyway, great game and nice entry, I think this would be really fun on mobile if you were thinking of releasing it!
Apr 20 23:40:09 24h 07m Multiplanetary ♥ 1 Agree with the comments on the difficulty curve. Ideally the game could start easy and then get harder. Also the rockets move so fast that you don't really have time to react, so maybe making everything smaller and slower would be good - giving the player the ability to actually be able to react to the threats. When the rockets just shoot out and there's nothing you can do apart from wildly click and hope, it feels a bit unfair. Graphics are nice and simple, and the sounds are good too (one simple trick to make the game sound more interesting is play the same sound but with a different random pitch in ~10% range each time). Nice entry though, and the rotational movement around the planet does feel smooth :)
Apr 20 23:51:39 11m 30s Stop the ocean ♥ 1 Game looks very nice and I like the music too (variation of tracks is always nice). I agree that the game is quite simple in that you just need to drag buildings as fast as possible - I would also say that the playtime is quite short, I think if the sea rising was lengthened to take about a minute, and there was some kind of cost (time or otherwise) associated with moving buildings, then there would need to be more of a tactical approach from the player. But Nice entry - especially as it's your first, welcome to ludum dare! :D
