Apr 26 06:49:07 Buried Deep ♥ 1 This is super cute. I love the art style! The little animations on the items and the trails of dust when you land are some great attention to detail, and I like the style of the walls. I love these kinds of exploratory fixed-screen platformers (idk if there's a term for them) and this is a great example! Some of the collision detection feels a bit wonky, would be my only complaint, but it wasn't really much of an issue.
Apr 26 07:20:54 31m 47s Lost in Thought ♥ 2 Hey, this is pretty cool! Reminds me of the kind of platformer with a creative twist mechanic from back in the Flash game days. :) I also like the subtle theming, and the soundtrack. (Very Baroque!) And the menu screen is simple but I really appreciate the aesthetic of it!
Apr 26 15:38:03 8h 17m Dig Deeper ♥ 2 Hey, this is pretty cool for 5 hours! I like what you did to make it harder as the game went on with more rocks showing up. Agree with others that the drill makes it feel like you should be able to destroy rocks rather than them damaging you, haha. But I guess the idea is you're drilling through dirt and hitting rocks is bad because the drill can't handle them? In that case maybe it would be cool to show a little trail behind you so it looks like you're digging. :)
Apr 26 15:44:21 6m 18s Debt Collector ♥ 2 this is super cool! I like your idea on how to incorporate the theme, and I really like how everything is constantly moving around, even in time with the music! It really helps contribute to the kind of "frantic" atmosphere. The online high scores are also a nice touch.
Apr 26 16:16:58 32m 37s Conduit ♥ 1 Wow this is quite cool! I really like the sound design, and I like how the main mechanic of the game kind of serves two purposes at once. Some of the puzzles are really tricky! Is collecting the little triangles just a bonus, or do they do something?
Apr 26 20:33:43 4h 16m Tunnel of Love: I'm Digging It ♥ 1 I love the little cutscenes. And I feel like I learned something about moles...? The graphics are really cute too, and the backgrounds are pretty and feel stylistically cohesive. Gameplay is pretty interesting as well, the limited pieces make it trickier than it seems at first glance! Sometimes I wanted to remove a piece from the board and I couldn't figure out how to do that. I ended up just moving the pieces out of the way, but would have been nice to have the option to just remove stuff for organization purposes.
Apr 26 20:51:57 18m 14s God's Arteries ♥ 0 Wow, really tough! I was not able to beat it, but still enjoyed it. You made good use of the pico-8 graphical restrictions. And a good application of the theme! The controls feel really satisfying while maintaining a challenge. There is a blind jump into spikes after you jump over those first two snails, though.
Apr 27 00:32:58 3h 41m Just Thinking ♥ 0 The link doesn't seem to be working, it gives a 404 for me :(
Apr 27 07:40:39 7h 07m Deeper And Deeper ♥ 0 Wow, this is super cool. Love this kind of wolfenstein renderer, and it's quite impressive that you got it working on pico8!
Apr 27 16:48:04 9h 07m Derelict Dive ♥ 1 Hey this was pretty cool! I really liked the art style (especially in the story cutscene), and the collision detection on the "space junk" is actually really well done. I also like the dynamic rendering of the tether on the astronaut. It would be cool to give the astronaut a few more sprites for thrusting, moving to the sides, facing the other way, etc. I think that would make controlling the character feel more dynamic!
Apr 27 19:00:11 2h 12m Dungeon Painter ♥ 1 Really interesting I like the graphical style a lot and spraying the paint around is quite fun. Concurring with other commenters that it feels like you have to go really slowly and carefully -- I feel like it's easy to miss the spikes even when they're right next to you. Especially when you discover a new platform by painting its edge, and jump up onto it only to get killed by an invisible spike it's a bit disheartening, haha. Overall cool stuff though, I really like the concept and I would love to see you expand further on it!
Apr 27 19:12:06 11m 55s Impalevator ♥ 2 I really like this little concept! It would be nice to have a bit more warning that the other imps are coming, or if you could shoot a bit faster -- I feel like having to see them and shoot them is a bit punishing especially if you miss. Some additional variety in enemies would also be cool to see (though of course it's hard in a jam timeframe ;D) Other than that I really liked it, I think the control scheme is interesting and I like the "multitasking" gameplay. And I really appreciate that you took time to add the "singing" option, I think it makes the game that much more charming.
Apr 27 19:15:19 3m 13s Cave Rider ♥ 0 Very fast, I had trouble with some of the initial enemies. Also at least for me, the cursor was kind of shaky which made it hard to feel like I was in control of the aiming. I really like the graphics, sound effects, and other stuff -- the presentation is really nice, would love to see a version that's slightly easier for people like me with bad reflexes 😅
Apr 27 19:24:14 8m 55s Big Brain Time ♥ 1 I like the little details in this. I really like the minimap! It's kind of fun navigating with it and getting excited when I see the thing I need. It's an interesting take on a maze game. And the controls feel pretty responsive -- I feel like in this kind of mouse control scheme it can get really tedious, but this game definitely avoids that! I think I did run into the game breaking bug and wasn't able to return "Sight" to the host neuron, so I wasn't able to finish the game, but I still found it enjoyable and an interesting take on the theme!
Apr 28 16:02:42 20h 38m Sinking Atlantis ♥ 2 Pretty cute! I like the art. It's a little basic at the moment, but I think a post-LD version with sound, more levels, a couple more mechanics, etc. would be really fun to play!
May 14 02:24:10 370h 21m Sing Deeper, Songsharks!!! ♥ 1 What a cute little game! I love games that work in musical elements into the interactivity. It would have been cool if the melodies of the solutions had a bit more 'musicality' to them. (Maybe keying the sharks to the pentatonic scale would help? :p) I really liked the art -- the 1-bit graphical style was cool, the singing sharks were cute and I like the little bird character. I wish the game had a few more levels to really sink your teeth into the mechanics, but I know how hard that kind of thing can be in a game jam. Minor, but I kind of wish there was a keyboard button to switch back and forth between play/edit, since when you need to change something in the level it feels kind of weird to grab the mouse to click the edit button while you're still in 'platforming' mode, if that makes sense. Overall I think this is really creative, and if you continue development I think you could end up with something really interesting!
