Oct 15 02:52:33 FOREST NINJA WIZARD GHOST ♥ 2 Saw your post and I clicked on your game because I thought you had a cool name 😁😁 Really like the artwork you created for this game! The one improvement you could make is to make it a bit more clear about what platforms in the trees the player can walk on. Otherwise thought the atmosphere you created was great and everything looked nicely together. Gameplay felt pretty nice but I think there are a few quirks that could be ironed out with the jumping. Great job and congratulations on making a game in 48 hours!
Oct 15 03:16:58 24m 25s Cosmoteer ♥ 0 Really like the level you built here, reminds me of all the Lego games I played when I was much younger 😊 I'm a big fan of the perspective of being a small character in a big world - though the fixed camera isn't ideal but it works well for a jam entry. Think you could make something really cool if you iron out some of the bugs. Congratulations on making a game in 48 hours!
Oct 15 03:53:18 36m 20s Void/Entropy ♥ 1 Seriously great game you've got here @tygrak!! I'm not very good at games like these, but this game compelled me to play it for quite a while. Didn't beat the game, but I'm saving this one to come back to because I think it is genuinely a really fun game. Really appreciate how there are checkpoints - was pleasantly surprised when I got past the first level, died, then didn't have to restart from the beginning. Also glad the game works with controllers as WASD isn't my thing. But for real I love the music in this game and it works so well with what is happening on the screen. The grayscale art is done well and is exactly what this game needs as to not distract from the gameplay and audio. Great entry and I really hope you place high in the final rankings! 🏆
Oct 17 04:24:15 48h 30m Unraveling Nothing ♥ 1 Really liked the art style of your game and I thought the narrative was pretty cool too. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to beat the first level, I kept running out of time shortly after crossing the second gap, I'd say at least for the game jam you could probably make this game without the countdown timer. I think my biggest issue with the game is that there are too many controls that the player needs to keep track of, often needing to do a few things at once with adjacent keys; I found myself pressing/releasing the wrong keys a few times which caused me to instantly fail. Though I really like how you experimented with Unity's physics engine in ways that not many people are doing. Congratulations on making a game in 48 hours!
Oct 17 05:16:01 51m 46s Insert Title Text Here ♥ 1 Awesome. In my opinion this is what game jams are all about, making a silly simple little game with a unique mechanic. The narration was done really well, it told the player enough about the world without giving anything about how the game works away. I felt really satisfied when I figured out the different mechanics in the game. If I have to nitpick something, I do think that the player feels a bit too heavy, but that can easily be tweaked. This game got real tough towards the end and I faded quite a few times in that last section, meaning I had to play through the whole game again to get back to that point, but I'm glad I stuck with it because I though it was such a good game. Also very rewarding to escape! Congratulations on making a great game in 48 hours!
Oct 17 06:15:47 59m 46s ...and to Nothingness Return ♥ 2 Nice puzzle game! The barriers and castles added a nice twist to the game. I spent quite a while on level 16 but couldn't complete it, maybe I'll try again later. Really cool looking game, great job all!
Oct 26 05:50:28 215h 34m Escape ♥ 1 Short, sweet, and to the point. Loved it. I liked how you didn't tell much to the player, after I collected the first coin, I thought I'd be collecting a bunch of standard powers like a dash or an attack but when I got the 2nd coin and I could now jump twice I put it all together and figured out what you were doing; and I think it's quite brilliant, I can't think of another game that does this the way you do. The one thing I would suggest to improve would be the level design, I felt this level was a bit too linear and would be cool to see some more puzzle solving with the different jump heights. Otherwise I thought it looked and played really nice, I liked the little animation at the end to. Great job!
Oct 26 06:01:54 11m 26s Kruzhok ♥ 1 Nice little arcade game! I did kindof appreciate the "soft reset" the game does, where you lose your multiplier when you get hit, but you don't lose your score and have to completely restart. Though I wish the enemy waves stayed the same - meaning when I got hit by one of the tougher enemies the enemies would restart to the beginning. Not sure how much that would affect the balance of how you have your game setup though. The one other thing I'd say to include is just a simple background, even if it's just a repeating pattern, but just something to gauge where I am and how quickly I'm moving in the world. Otherwise I had fun with your game, and congratulations on making a game in 48 hours!
Oct 26 06:41:34 39m 40s Cradle of the void ♥ 1 Loved it. This is a perfect example of why lighting is so important for game design. Your graphics looked great as is, but the way the interacted with light really brought this world to life. Yes, I was a bit frustrated at first not knowing exactly what to do, but it made me feel very accomplished when I did figure out all the little mechanics. Also, I kinda respect the fact that there aren't any boundaries in your game and you can go on forever and get lost, something about it kinda fits the mysterious and ambiguous nature of the game (even if that wasn't you initial intention 😁 😄 ) But great job overall, one of the most unique and memorable games I've played.
