Aug 1 14:33:25 The Hunt for Red October Box ♥ 5 Solid game. I really like the visual style, the lighting made it very atmospheric. The controls and gameplay was smooth, it was fun exploring the depths. I liked the puzzle to get the sonar. Only point I can find to critizise is that the hull damage sound effect was too loud.
Aug 1 14:55:01 21m 36s Power Crystals ♥ 1 The game looks very good, great art. I like the retro soundtrack. The gameplay is fun at first, but it does get a bit repetitive, and the difficulty curve is steep. I got a highscore of 6834. For me it was left click to shoot, not right click.
Aug 2 13:24:52 22h 29m Times New Robots ♥ 1 Interesting idea to mix FPS with tower defense mechanic. I like the graphics, you made a lot of good assets for this. Nice music and good sound effects too. The gameplay does have some issues. A lot of the time the robots didn't seem to die, my kill count did rise, but the robots kept moving, I didn't get any new batteries and I'd soon be game over. It's also difficult to tell if your shots hit the robots. The movement is a bit slippery, but its not too bad when you get used to it.
Aug 2 13:36:03 11m 11s Electronaut ♥ 0 Very creative concept. The graphics are great, though I agree does look a bit weird that the gun isn't aimed where you shoot. Good music and sound effects too. The controls were a bit awkward for me. The right stick is mapped differently on different controllers, so my right stick would only shoot in one direction. Arrow keys to shoot is awkward, would have been much better if you could aim and shoot with the mouse instead. Regardless, it was a fun game, great job overall.
Aug 2 14:14:45 38m 42s ⚡ Swing Bolt ⚡ ♥ 1 Super fun game, the controls were easy, but also challenging. My best time was 103 seconds, an online high score would have been really cool for this game. If you had an ability to deal with those blue creatures, either kill them or knock them back, it'd make the later parts of the game a bit more interesting.
Aug 2 15:50:32 1h 35m Funkotron 5k ♥ 0 Really cool game, pretty graphics and funky music. Awesome intro scene, very funny. I do prefer rhythm games that are slightly more challenging, but it was fun to play. Don't really see how it fits with the theme though.
Aug 2 16:02:43 12m 11s Skinner Box ♥ 0 I like the cartoony graphics, and the animations are pretty good. The gameplay was a little confusing. I don't get the role of the water. I get you have to balance recharging your own energy and the electricity, but that seems to get increasingly difficult to the point where its impossible. I don't see a goal to reach to win the game, or a timer/score to measure my progress.
Aug 2 20:33:07 4h 30m Running out of PEWer! ♥ 2 Fast paced and fun. Very good graphics, and good sound effects. I couldn't get my controller to work though, so had to play with keyboard. Shooting with arrow keys is awkward, would have been far better to aim and shoot with mouse.
Aug 2 23:11:39 2h 38m Captain Lettuce ♥ 1 Very fun game with smooth controls, enjoyable combat mechanics and good level design. The last level took a few attempts, kept releasing the first hostage too early, and all the mobs came for me. Good sound effects and music. I liked the art and animations on the characters and the particle effects, the scenery is a bit bland though.
Aug 9 00:01:34 144h 49m POW ♥ 2 Great game, very polished with good graphics, fitting music and good sound effects. Good difficulty level on the puzzles, you have to think a bit, but its not too hard. Overall I think this is one of the best games I've played so far this LD. My only point of criticism is that I would have preferred if the robot always moved when you pressed an arrow button, instead of having to use a button to turn around.
Aug 9 01:11:05 1h 09m Power, MT ♥ 1 You did a great job creating a horror atmosphere, both with the visual descriptions in the text and the music. The story was well written and just the right length for an LD game. I also like that you kept the text fairly short on each page, as too much text would have slowed down the pace of the story. One piece of the story that did puzzle me a bit was when I was in the middle of 3rd street and saw light coming from a trailer to the south, but I didn't seem to have an option to go south and explore it. I finished in 58 turns and got 15 points.
Aug 9 14:27:57 13h 16m SPHEER ♥ 1 This is a very beautiful and polished game, the music is relaxing which is good for a puzzle game, the interface was clean and simple and the controls were smooth(I particularly like the smooth acceleration on your FPS controller). I was a little confused at first about how to connect the sphere, if you had some indication of which things the sphere is connected to while holding it(maybe something like the line you get when it doesn't have line of sight and cant connect) it would have been a little more intuitive. I thought the puzzles were fairly easy, definitely not too hard.
Aug 9 15:26:53 58m 56s Nex Machinan ♥ 1 Very fun game, though the difficulty curve is a bit steep. I like how the running out of power mechanic forces you to play aggressive and really think about where you are moving, but I also think I would have preferred if you connected shooting(and possibly other abilities) to power and make it more of a tactical decision when to shoot, as I found it easiest now to just hold down the shoot button continuously. The graphics are simple but polished, and the music was nice. I did get a bit tired of the laser shooting sound effect.
