| Apr 18 07:33:00 | Code Shift | Screenshots look cool but couldn't get it too work in Ubuntu (not unexpectedly). | |
| Apr 18 07:35:00 | 2m 00s | Color shift | "ImportError: No module named tkinter" <br/> <br/>I was really looking forward to seeing those labels :( |
| Apr 18 07:40:00 | 5m 00s | Wizard Quest | Pretty fun game. Movement is smooth, but traps are maybe a bit hard to dodge. At some point I walked off the leap of faith, and when I respawned I fell through the map or something. Weird but fun. |
| Apr 18 07:47:00 | 7m 00s | Shape it! | Had troubles unraring the file, the standard ubuntu file roller said "Error: unable to parse files". Installed unrar with apt-get and then I could extract it. Could run the executable though. "bash: ./ShapeIt!.exe: cannot execute binary file: Exec format error" it said. Maybe a small tip for next time: don't use exclamation marks in filenames. Screenshots looked interesting. |
| Apr 18 07:50:00 | 3m 00s | Don't Race Me Or My Son Ever Again | Pretty impressive! I've never written a software renderer but I can imagine you need some experience for that. The racer feels pretty fluid, and the rendering is also pretty good, except for some jagged lines when turning the car. If I were you I would keep this code around, maybe improve it a bit, and use it next LD for your next game! |
| Apr 18 07:54:00 | 4m 00s | Particle Shift | "./LinuxExe.x86: error while loading shared libraries: libX11.so.6: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory" :( I'm on Ubuntu 15.10. Screenshots look interesting, a very techy/computer ambient. |
| Apr 18 08:02:00 | 8m 00s | The Flying Carplane | Ubuntu 15.10 user here. First I had to "sudo apt-get install libgtk2.0-0:i386", then "sudo apt-get install lib32stdc++6". Together with chmod +x on the executable it started. However when I pressed play it crashed with the notification "Aborted (core dumped)". I guess the linux version still needs some work :s |
| Apr 18 08:05:00 | 3m 00s | The duck Reborn | Hurry up with that Linux version! |
| Apr 18 08:10:00 | 5m 00s | Transmuto | Game is fun, but I have no idea how the interaction between shooting at the red things and them dying works. Movement was pretty nice once I figured it out, the graphics look nice and coherent. Sound is nice but gets kind of irritating after a while. |
| Apr 18 08:15:00 | 5m 00s | Home Sweet Home | Interesting idea. Graphics look nice and give the game a retro feel. Controls worked good. Puzzles were a bit too hard for me though. |
| Apr 18 09:00:00 | 45m 00s | NOUKE | Very cool game! Takes a second to figure out but it's a nice mechanic to play with. The ambient feel of the game is very authentic. Good job! |
| Apr 18 11:04:00 | 2h 04m | Bortman | Looks very cool! Controls work amazing. Permadeath is a bit of a bummer though, you get shot by accident quite quickly. Looks beatiful, altough transitioning between states is a bit rusty (keep walking after dying, etc.). Good job! |
| Apr 18 11:12:00 | 8m 00s | Click Faggot | Very interesting take on the theme, and a very touching story. Visuals are also quite minimal and pleasing. |
| Apr 18 11:14:00 | 2m 00s | H2Olympics | Same here, windows link just leads straight to my dropbox. Make sure to share the "share" link you get when you click the right mouse button on the file, not just a page in the dropbox web view. |
| Apr 18 11:20:00 | 6m 00s | Shape Runner | Okay game. Simple graphics, simple gameplay, and simple audio. A very good basis for an interesting game. Fun for a short while but becomes monotone after 10 or so shapes. |
| Apr 18 11:28:00 | 8m 00s | PsychoShift | Very beautiful! Controls are a bit hard/mushy, and sometimes the game requires you to switch really quickly which is a bit too much to learn for a 5 minute game. The story is pretty cool, the characters are cute and the game mechanic is interesting. |
| Apr 18 11:32:00 | 4m 00s | Shaze (Shape Maze) | Nice puzzle game, have never encountered something like this! |
| Apr 19 09:11:00 | 21h 39m | Ereptile Dysfunction | Controls work fine, climbing is a bit fiddly but when you figure it out it's a nice mechanic. Shame there aren't more levels but the three short ones were fun! Maybe spend some more time on content and music next time. All in all a very good basis, could expand into something even better easily! |
| Apr 19 09:15:00 | 4m 00s | Zord's Dank Carpet | Oh man this game looks like so much fun but I'm on ubuntu 15.10 and I got this error :( <br/> <br/>Exception in thread "main" java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: no lwjgl in java.library.path <br/> at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadLibrary(ClassLoader.java:1864) <br/> at java.lang.Runtime.loadLibrary0(Runtime.java:870) <br/> at java.lang.System.loadLibrary(System.java:1122) <br/> at org.lwjgl.Sys$1.run(Sys.java:73) <br/> at java.security.AccessController.doPrivileged(Native Method) <br/> at org.lwjgl.Sys.doLoadLibrary(Sys.java:66) <br/> at org.lwjgl.Sys.loadLibrary(Sys.java:95) <br/> at org.lwjgl.Sys.<clinit>(Sys.java:112) <br/> at org.lwjgl.opengl.Display.<clinit>(Display.java:135) <br/> at ld35.Main.main(Main.java:23) <br/> <br/>I actually tried both java 7 and 8 but they both gave an error :( |
| Apr 19 09:22:00 | 7m 00s | Nano Wars | Looks amazing! Shooting is wonky as hell though, seriously. Also walking around is kind of counter intuitive (I know I said it wouldn't be but after a few rounds it didn't get much better :p), but that's kind of hard to solve for an isometric game. The gameplay is actually pretty fun once you get the steering of the robot down and figure out what the drops do. Keeps the style and improve the controls next jam and you'll land among the stars! <br/> <br/> <br/> <br/> <br/> <br/> <br/> <br/> my favourite game so far |
| Apr 19 09:26:00 | 4m 00s | WaLeFi | Controls are smooth, and looks great! Takes a while figuring out which element works against what, especially when it starts taking multiple shots to take down some enemies. Tutorial is really clear, nice of you to include controller support (didn't test it though). Music is nice but actually gets kind of irritating quickly. Great job! |
| Apr 19 09:36:00 | 10m 00s | Shamanic Panic | Cool game! Storyline is nice and very funny, explanation of controls is clear. Graphics are simple and cute, and the soundtrack is great and doesn't become irritating! The only downside is that the gameplay is kind of hard, the hare encourages you to run quick, but then you have to stop every other second because you might run into one of those black things (if you CAN even stop, usually they just kill you without you being able to interfere). Great job, but the difficulty curve could use some finetuning. |
| Apr 19 10:06:00 | 30m 00s | Maze Runner | Doesn't run on ubuntu 15.10 :( |
| Apr 19 10:18:00 | 12m 00s | Pheee Strew Quest | For those who don't want to look up the proper commands, these install the proper allegro version on ubuntu 15.10: <br/> <br/>sudo add-apt-repository ppa:allegro/5.0 <br/>sudo apt-get update <br/>sudo apt-get install liballegro5-dev <br/> <br/>The game is kind of weird. Art style is great, and the small screen has a nice aesthetic to it. The fighting makes no sense to me however. So I walked around a bit, and died a few times, but did not get to see much more of the game. The attacks only seemed to hurt me somehow. Maybe next time try to balance it, and if you're not succeeding then make it too easy instead of too hard. If the next time the game looks and plays as nice as this time, and is a bit more balanced, you're in for a treat! |
| Apr 19 20:21:00 | 10h 03m | Sea Monster | Really good! Played it from start to end :D The AI is challenging, but not hard enough to irritate. And the game is very forgiving, which encourages you to put some actual effort into the game :) The ending was nice. I liked how at first the final E skill was worthless but it proved really useful later on! Great job! |
| Apr 19 20:24:00 | 3m 00s | Water&Fire | Game doesn't work on Ubuntu 15.10 :( "Aborted (core dumped)" it says |
| Apr 19 20:28:00 | 4m 00s | Run, Gamer, Run! | Game looked pretty nice and the story is funny. Game mechnanic is quite easy though (just hold ctrl to win). I also couldn't get space or fire to work. Next time keep the same spirit in story and gaphics, but try to focus a bit more on concrete gameplay :) |
| Apr 19 21:15:00 | 47m 00s | Sunshift | First off: my congratulations of being the first unity game to successfully run on my ubuntu 15.10 installation! It seems that, even though I'd suppose this is a "Just Works" feature in Unity, 9/10 Ludum Dare participants still seem to mess this up. <br/> <br/>I played 14 levels, and I skipped the last 6 (give or take). Most of them are astonishingly hard. I managed to keep my spirits up, but when at the key-shaped level I had to do one parcours twice, but the second time the other way around, you broke my spirit. The game's aesthetics are very well crafted, and the music is nice and hypnotizing. I commend you, great job! |
| Apr 19 21:22:00 | 7m 00s | Pathogen | Doesn't run on my Ubuntu 15.10 box, says "Aborted (core dumped)" :( |
| Apr 19 21:28:00 | 6m 00s | Muoto the Geometry Wizard | Looks very good, interesting mechanic, controls work smoothly, sounds are not irritating. A very good job! |
| Apr 19 21:39:00 | 11m 00s | SHAPE☆SHIFT | Behind this cute and fluffy game hides an ingenious and challenging game mechanic! While the graphics and the music are a bit too childish for my taste, they are of high quality. The puzzles are really cool and well though out, as they border on "Did the developer make a mistake here or am I just not smart enough?". Controls could be a bit less mushy, but that's a minor point. Very well done! |
| Apr 19 21:44:00 | 5m 00s | We Don't Know How to Approach You | Hahaha, wow! This game is great :D The graphics are simple but very coherent and you immediately understand what they mean and what the implications are. The controls are simple but effective, and you surely have a nice sense of humour. Keep it up and make an even better game next time! :D Be sure to include a "pause music" button though :) |
| Apr 20 19:12:00 | 21h 28m | FiveCubeFlight | Interesting idea, looks good for a barebones proof of concept. I feel like this game is playable only if you have memorized all the states. It's a novel mechanic though. |
| Apr 20 19:17:00 | 5m 00s | System Shift | Very cool! A simple but intuitive and fun game :-) Could've used some more in-depth mechanics but the nethack style make up for it. Maybe next time add a storyline? |
| Apr 20 19:20:00 | 3m 00s | ShiftShaper | Cool mechanic :) Kind of weird (but sometimes it's almost neigh impossible to get the shape right) to play with but its fun. The music is kind of random but not too irritating. A nice entry. |
| Apr 20 19:25:00 | 5m 00s | CDO | I think I understand the games purpose, but I'm not very much an OCD person, so I didn't have much problem leaving the shapes as they were. The interface looks nice and simple, and the shapes behave nicely. The only thing that misses is actual gameplay; you got the rest right. |
| Apr 20 19:32:00 | 7m 00s | Wayang | Very pretty game! The animations are smooth and, while subtle, the sounds are very nice. I have a nexus 5 and I did experience that the screen was maybe somewhat cramped during some puzzles. |
| Apr 20 19:40:00 | 8m 00s | ShapeGrid | Fun game! I'm going to keep this around for when I get bored :D The mechanic is fun and addictive, but random enough not to hate it when you lose. It also looks really polished and plays nice. Good job! |
| Apr 20 19:48:00 | 8m 00s | A Game | Your game runs perfectly on Ubuntu 15.10 :) It plays nicely and the story is mildly interesting (and funny - didn't you read Dijkstra's papers before bedtime like any regular child? :p). Now that you've got a basic engine up and running, maybe make the gameplay a bit more exciting next time. A more interactive environment, maybe? :) |
| Apr 20 20:24:00 | 36m 00s | Turnstone | Pretty cool game, controls are very smooth and the graphics are intuitive and simple. The puzzles are surprising at times, and meditative at others. Good job keeping it cross-platform :D <br/> <br/>Oh, and have you looked at Boost.Hana? Rey and I both use it, seems to be pretty effective ;-) |
