LD46 — Keep it alive

HAL 2020 by OveRMolo 2020-04-24T16:41:52Z

Super cool the way it lights up in the beginning. I think people who are unfamiliar with 2001 would be quite confused (yes they exist somehow). Also I am familiar and was still confused oops. I think I got impatient and just clicked on what I could too early. I think offering explicit feedback for your actions while still allowing for some corrections would be very helpful.

Holy crap fully voice acted, and the voice acting is actually good? The graphics and the sound were both excellent especially for a jam game.

I think the 'tutorial' could have been a bit longer, because as it stands it just sort of ends abruptly and expects you to figure out that you can keep building things and you gotta' remember, people like me are stupid and forget things like that. Tool tips for suggested actions that appear after a certain amount of time if the character hasn't done them might be useful.

I encountered a bug where I guess one of the AI died, and after we killed the last enemy the game didn't realize they were all dead so it just sat there. I started walking to the south which seems to go for infinity (I'd probably add an instadeath out there) before giving up. It would be neat if you could control the AI and upgrade them as well. Ooh, and instead of tool tips you could have the AI make suggestions.

It's like a simplified singeplayer Onitama. I love Onitama. Excellent sprite work, animation, and good sound design.

I enjoyed it. I think with some expansion it's definitely one I could sink some time into. More threats and more defense types etc. Also I kept pressing the up arrow to try and get my last command because my brain thought I was on an actual terminal. The interface had a nostalgic feel from the old dos titles.

Huge fan of the visuals and the sound. Enemies seemed to spawn on top of you while you walked randomly, and there wasn't any animation when you hit them.

Shadoweight: A Moguel tale by Davidenki 2020-04-22T20:48:27Z

I tried to give him medicine but it wasn't working. I couldn't find any other medicine. I like the art.

I feel like the toaster was too fast given the screen area and not being tethered to the fridge. Might I suggest an indicator of some sort as to the location of the toaster while off screen? If you've played old co-op games you're probably familiar with what I mean. The boundaries are a bit close in color to the rest of the map so at first I didn't realize there were walls. I also ended up dying seemingly randomly which may have been my fault, but all I did was run into a piece of toast with the toaster, and I believe that is what you are supposed to do? And just a random opinion, but it would be neat if they both had specific usable abilities because to me it felt like being able to control the fridge was arbitrary given how fast the toaster is.

I think you have a strong concept here, and I like the theme a lot. The design of the fridge is awesome. How did you even come up with this!? I look forward to seeing what you can do in the future.

Protect your children! by Dave GameDevelopement 2020-04-22T20:41:27Z

I like the glowing effects. I was about to rate the game's fun lower because I didn't understand how it worked until I read the comments. And then I did understand, but I was never good at Meepo.

Torch Runner by Equivocator 2020-04-24T16:44:34Z

The game kept losing focus of the mouse every time I tried to play so I couldn't get past the start :/

Lettuce Be Friends by YaakGold 2020-04-22T20:59:32Z

Maybe too complicated for a jam game. That said, it was a very unique and interesting concept. I like the whole idea of experimentation based on characteristics.
