RUN! Before the power runs out! by zenmumbler 2017-08-07T21:35:00Z
Made it first time with 14 seconds left. You were right, the music really does sell the whole "RUN!! NOW!!!" effect.

Hi there, read your article on shaders and it all went over my head. However, I wanted to try your game out after seeing how cool the character looks. Love the look and feel, controls are tight. My only complaint is the repetitive music and the eerie lack of sound effects (which I'm pretty sure you weren't going for). All-in-all, great game. Good job, I think your game will do well.
I like the idea, but the controls aren't very tight. Don't forget to rate others' games.
LOL, XD. I'm speechless. Surprised you finished in 48 hours.
I thought the graphics for the town were quite charming, and your art in general is better than the norm for programmer art. The game was really fun and I loved the music. My only complaint is that difficulty scales oddly. The goons are very easy to defeat, and then suddenly, BAM! It's Mr. Ning, the Overpowered Warlord. I mean, he was manageable, but I think the game would have been a little better with an in-between enemy, maybe a goon with more health and a powerup?
If your car goes too far, you will die. In retrospect, the point where you die should be much closer.
Thanks for the feedback. I don't think I will continue to work on this game but I'm already starting on my next project.
I really appreciate it the constructive critique.
Thank you, I realize now it should be much harder.
Thank you everyone for helping me get over 20 ratings. I am so happy for the feedback and I will keep everything in mind when I work on my next game, already in the works.
I like the idea, but I think a little polish would really help. The controls are a little bit awkward on a keyboard, and the power seems more like a fun-crushing timer instead of a challenge.
On a positive note, I LOVED your pixel graphics and the enemy AI. great work on that.
I feel that this game simulates crushing writer's block a little too well.
This is a pretty cool and fun game, but I don't think mentioning power counts as using the theme.
I too had UI scaling issues. I liked the idea for the game, but it was way too easy. It was more like an experience than an actual game. Also, the art was very confusing. I think it would be better to have bland but clear art than to not understand the abstract sprites in a game. The black text on dark blue sky and purple ground was awkward, and a bit distracting.
edit: Wow, I apologize for sounding so negative. I just read this out load to myself
