xpost from itch: Scored 280, nice work! The music works really well with the pace of the game, and it helped me keep up a higher rate of fire. I loved the little details in the animations, and seeing Mr. Ning's henchmen pile up after a BFG run was great. IMHO it's a little on the easy side, and my only complaint is that it didn't have this sound in it :P http://www.wolfensteingoodies.com/archives/olddoom/sounds/dspodth1.wav
Wouldn't want to be a street cleaner in Power, Montana.
I really enjoyed this game. It was easy to start and fun. I liked the variety in weapons, and appreciate the web build. Couple things I would suggest: Enemy AI was too predictable (although I know AI can be hard and daunting so it's not a big deal), and the enemies have too much health. I'd much prefer it if the enemies took 4-5 shots to kill, but there were much more of them. It's impressive non the less and a blast to play

@omnipotentindie Thanks for the feedback! This was my first LD (and really the first game I've finished). I think you're right on the more enemies, but lower health.
The enemies don't really have "AI". They literally just track onto the player and shoot, heh. So it's no wonder they are predictable. Maybe next time it will be more sophisticated.
I am glad that it is fun though!
Nice game, it was pretty fun. There were times in the game though that felt like the controls became very unresponsive... like I would try and move but nothing happened, or clicking didn't shoot. This usually came at times when there were a lot of enemies on screen, so possibly may have been related to that? The overall difficulty was pretty low, but that's OK. The graphics were perfectly fine, in my opinion. But yeah, it was pretty fun. Nice job!

So many weapons...
++ The music was well done. It had that 'gangsta' feel to it. Coupled with the gunshot sounds, it felt like I was actually 'cleaning' the streets. +++ I was surprised at the variety of weapons in the first few seconds of play. Trying each one out was a lot of fun.
Thanks for the exciting game. Great job!
Nice game. The only things I would like to mention are the predictable AI and that the connection to the theme feels kind of forced :P
But, anyway: Well done!

(just a note, the link you have for http://www.abundant-music.com/ needs to have the www. in front of it. Currently it 404s)
I liked the variety of weapons and the art was actually kinda charming. Reminded me of the days of old flash games when stick figures were the norm. It is time for stick figures to rise again!
Anyways, music went well, sound effects were passable. I had the same problem it seems a couple of other had which was that controls for mouse clicking became unresponsive, but I'll chalk that up to web port tom foolery.
Was fun!

@phlip45 Thanks for the feedback. I changed the link. It's unfortunate the controls become unresponsive. I do think it is something with the web port and right clicking or something. I have had it happen mostly when using a trackpad instead of a mouse. Not sure what the cause is.
Thanks for playing!
It was my great desire that someone would make a game where you're running until there is a sign that says "Now leaving Power, [random US state]" and then you would win, but this is pretty close, pun wise and a fun game too. 230 points, ran that bastard out of town.

Lmao nice pun. The game was pretty fun for the while it lasted. It was fairly fun to try out the different powerups (the laser was my favourite). I think the gun sound was kinda weak but other than that (and the graphics as you said) it was alright.
I thought the graphics for the town were quite charming, and your art in general is better than the norm for programmer art. The game was really fun and I loved the music. My only complaint is that difficulty scales oddly. The goons are very easy to defeat, and then suddenly, BAM! It's Mr. Ning, the Overpowered Warlord. I mean, he was manageable, but I think the game would have been a little better with an in-between enemy, maybe a goon with more health and a powerup?

Cool game, very simple to play and you get straight into the fun. The pickups were nice and the powerups worked well and was cool.
It is a well implemented survival game that is good for a Ludum Dare game. The art was pretty decent for a non-artist and they worked well for this game. Since the style was consistent there wasn't really a problem. The problem is when there is too much contrast between some elements in a game (my game would be a good example of this haha). You managed to provide pretty good gameplay with all the required components of a game (sound effects, music, gameplay, well implemented game mechanics, smooth controls and even a tutorial).
Of course if you wanted to make it a more interesting survival game you could have added a leaderboard using a simple tool such as dreamlo.com but that is of course not a necessity.
You did a good job with this game, hope to see you in the next Ludum Dare
